Mikey and Leo bond growing up over their similar shell patterns, but this ends up making Donnie and Raph feel a little left out.

Seeing Donnie insist that he’s not bothered by it (but very clearly being bothered) makes Raph want to find a solution. Said solution is: call Donnie’s tubercles, aka his spines, spikes instead! That way, both he and Raph have spiky shells!

Donnie scoffs and says that’s not really accurate but he relents anyway because it makes him happy to “match” with Raph.

(And yes, they do shove their newfound solidarity in Mikey and Leo’s faces.)
