"i will suffocate you don't try your luck." he countered which made you laugh before kissing the top of his head. You loved your 'best friend.' ;p

It's late, the Black Lake not letting a single shred of moonlight through the windows. So dark that you couldn't even see right in front of you. But Evan knew their room like it was the back of his hand. He knew Barty did too.

"Yeah?" He rolls over, his voice groggy and filled with sleep as he faces where Barty should be. He's always been a light sleeper. It's how you learn to live in a strict pure blooded house. Regulus is too, he just keeps silencing charms around his drapes.

"If you carve a piece of your skin off yourself, could I eat it?"

There's no pause, no hesitation in Barty's words. He says it as seriously as Barty knows how to say anything. Evan is sure that the other boy thought about this for far too long.

"Can I ask why?" Evan grumbles into his pillow. He was so comfortable. Curse Barty for being a fucking chatterbox.

"I just, I think it'd be nice, mate. Having a piece of you inside me wherever I go."

Evan frowns but... that's honestly the sweetest thing Barty has ever said to him. So much so that Evan finds his chest warming at the thought, chasing away some of the dungeon chill.

"Yeah." He gives in easily. Evan was bound to with that explanation, "Yeah, I'll give you a piece of me." He pauses before he snorts, mumbling a fond "fucking freak" under his breath as he rolls back over. He tries to get rid of the image as he falls back to sleep but he can't. He falls back asleep with a fond smile and a weird sensation in him.

The next day, when Regulus is out and the dorm is just for the two of them, Evan takes the time to carve out a chunk of his arm. It hurts, he knows it would, but the end result is so worth it. Seeing that crooked smile with red teeth and a red mouth with red stained lips.

Barty's kisses taste like blood for the next several hours and it's addicting. The scolding he gets from Madam Pomfrey and the disgusted looks he gets from his friends, Regulus mainly, is so fucking worth it.
