I love fanfic that’s time loop with major character death!! I really enjoyed your MHA fic w the spirits, maybe a fic where Izuku works with Eri’s spirit but something goes wrong (he’s hit with trigger or he and Eri both try to use it simultaneously?) and he gets caught in a time loop and has to go back on all his progress in relying on others while the people in his life try to convince him to let them help (but ultimately can’t bc they keep forgetting from prior loops)

Ohhhh timeloops! I love a good time loop - my faves when I was younger were the amazing Xena and Stargate loops, which I think are still just the best in the business. Timeloops for MHA are always just SO DEPRESSING and while I agree that is exactly how it would go (look, tiny broccoli boy is going to have trauma if he has to relive Shit Going Wrong over and over again, and he's already bad at dealing with feelings of inadequacy), a bunch of folks have already gone in on ideas of that nature so.... I'd go the complete opposite. Crackfic. Except it starts frustrated and sad Izuku stuck in a loop because handwave handwave quirks gone bad and he's with Eri so he has to protect her!! But they're trapped maybe not just in a loop, but in a set space - the city blocks around the school, maybe. His classmates and teachers are there, but they don't believe or even if they do, they don't remember from one loop to the next. And Izuku figures out they have to break it, but he has Eri there and 'kill myself to fix it' CANNOT BE THE SOLUTION if Eri is sitting there, watching him with her big eyes and insisting he'll figure it out. Ergo: he tries to break the game. He knows this is a quirk and might be entirely psychological, or maybe some sort of stable bubble? So he either breaks it himself or keeps going long enough for others to help (because by the time he's solidly hanging with Eri he has learned there WILL be help, even if he is bad at asking for it) and so it's a prank war. He fills Nedzu's desk with ramen noodles. He convinces Todoroki to freeze the pool and takes Eri ice skating. He tells Momo that Eri ABSOLUTELY NEEDS THAT NEW PRINCESS POWER DRESS UP PLAY SET. He quits UA. He tells Aizawa about OfA. Eri makes him a list of people he has to kiss in case it's a kiss-based-curse. (That one takes a good thirty or forty loops before he tries it). I think the end solution is that it IS some sort of bubble, some sort of psychological space they're in. And when the heroes break it everyone is TERRRIFIED of the damage that Izuku and Eri are going to have, because it's a terrible quirk from a villain where so many have had ever lasting trauma and damage and they're KIDS and this is going to be the worst possible thing. And Izuku and Eri come out giggling. They have STORIES TO TELL. Eri tells everyone about the prank war, the movie nights, learning to jump from buildings on Izuku's back, he even taught her how to fight!! It was wonderful but she's very glad to come home. (And Nedzu is like... How the heck did you get into my office with RAMEN???)

S3E11 Mystery Spot - LITERALLY a timeloop fanfic. EXTREMELY good. fave pre-Cas episode for me.

S5E8 Changing Channels - brings back mystery spots MOTW and makes him even more powerful. iconic behaviour, great episode.

S6E17 My Heart Will Go On is fun hijinks-y but admittedly has very little on-screen time travel. Balthazar is in it though and I like him

S6E18 Frontierland - Dean and Sam send themselves back in time AND it’s a cowboy episode. VERY star trek

S13E16 Scoobynatural - IT COUNTS I THINK. Semi-related, S8E8 Hunteri Heroici involves a guy who make cartoons come to life with his mind. It’s a very fun and very pretty episode and Cas and Dean r gay, well worth watching <3

S4E17 It’s A Terrible Life - Zachariah traps Sam and Dean in alternate reality where Dean is a (heavily implied out queer) businessman of some sort and wears fruity suits. Sam is there I guess. One of its finest Gay Homophobia episodes and genuinely very fun to watch.

S11E14 The Vessel - Dean wears a fruity little sailor outfit and Casifer (Lucifer who is possessing Castiel and the Winchesters don’t know yet - it’s a whole story arc) fists Sam’s soul just for funsies. The ONLY reason Casifer couldn’t get on that boat is because if Cas saw Dean’s fruity sailor outfit for more than a minute he would have lost his MIND and Lucifer woulda had to leave his vessel sharpish.

S8E11 LARP and the Real Girl - I think the title speaks for itself really, I think this counts! Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day’s character) is in it and she’s cool and gay and Dean wears chainmail <3

S7E12 Time After Time I can’t remember that much about this ep but Dean does wear a very good 40s suit including a shoulder holster <3

I really want to tell you to watch the Belphegor episodes (S15E1-S15E3) but none of it would actually make sense I’m just obsessed with them bringing a messy gay bitch demon into Jack’s body literally top 10 Supernatural Gay Homophobia Moments in my onion.

S8E12 As Time Goes By - Sam and Dean’s grandfather jumps forward in time to find them, and introduces them to the history of the Men Of Letters, whose house they will steal in the next episode

S4E3 In The Beginning - This and the next episode are only ranked so low because I don’t care about Mary and John drama. HOWEVER. Zachariah sends Dean back in time to meet his mum before she married John and Zachariah very possibly fucked her. There are a LOT of memes about this now.

S5E13 The Song Remains The Same - Anna tries to stop Sam from being born. This entire concept is VERY funny to me. As is Sam and Dean showing up on the doorstep of their mum and dad, who do not have children yet, telling them their real names and saying ‘it’s a family name’ when John points out that Mary has relatives with the same name. Comedic genius I don’t care about the rest of the episode but from what I remember it’s pretty good.

S14E13 Lebanon - this episode is bad because it tries to redemption arc John BUT. it gave us  [spoilers] 1) lesbian steve jobs ted talk sam 2) Dean trying to placate alt-Cas who never got to know him by doing the ‘Cas....’ and gentle touch thing and alt-Cas just going ham and obliterating his ass 3) Dean choosing to go back to their world (with Cas <3) over staying in this universe with his Dad because he’s not worth it <3

There are several flashback eps to Dean and Sam’s childhoods, but as you can imagine these are all pretty sad and not the kind of thing you wanna watch For Funsies. The wiki has a list of those here.

The longest alt-universe arc is the Apocalypse World - a world where the Angels and Demons successfully orchestrated their plan to cause the apocalypse and are steadily wiping out the last of the human population. This isn’t overall a “fun” arc, but is v interesting and pique your attention if you like time travel and AU content. The wiki lists all the episodes here.

Hibiya Amamiya from Kagerou Project/Mekakucity Actors is trapped in a timeloop! On August 15th, he and his childhood friend Hiyori Asahina get stuck in a timeloop and die over and over again until he escapes.

Hayato Kawajiri from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 is trapped in a timeloop! He's the target of an ability called "Bites the Dust", which kills anyone Hayato shares the identity of Yoshikage Kira with before it rewinds time by about an hour.

Frisk from Undertale is trapped in a timeloop! They have the power to save at certain points of time and to reset to the beginning of the game. Both of these are acknowledged by other characters either through feelings of deja vu, or outright calling the player out for reloading/resetting to see a different outcome.

Rules:

Timeloop refers to loop where someone is stuck reliving a certain day or other time period. Time is usually reset by the looper's death but it can be any event really. Something has to be done to break the loop and allow time to continue forward. This specific loop is often referred to as a "Groundhog Day Loop" (link opens to the TVTropes page on it)

Characters don't need to canonically be in a timeloop. If you can justify that they're in a timeloop I'll allow it! Example: V1 in Ultrakill respawns at checkpoints after death (as is usual in video games), but the fact that certain bosses will have unique voicelines when it respawns (especially MDK's "Why are we in the past?") can be taken as proof of them being in a timeloop

OCs are okay as long as you have a transparent image/image that can be edited to be transparent to use

If I feel uncomfortable with a request I will turn it down. I can't think of any specific media except Harry Potter but if I think of more I'll add it here

Oh, the flag!

The purple is colorpicked from Homura from Madoka Magica since that was the first time I recognized the timeloop trope and it kickstarted my interest in them, blue for the sadness and despair that comes with being trapped in a timeloop, green is because I associate time with the color green, and white for the hope of escaping the loop. The loop is bronze to go with the color of gears in clocks, and the colors are dulled to show how things become bland when they're all you're used to.

Sam Winchester from Supernatural is trapped in a timeloop! In Season 3 Episode 11 "The Mystery Spot", Loki traps Sam in a timeloop on a Tuesday, forcing Sam to watch his brother Dean die over and over again.
