After revamping the hell out of Racasix I was ready to approach Verocia and give her a similar treatment. However, what initially began as a desire to have the system wedge attached to the torso by something better than two 1/2 pins (which caused it to come off if you so much as brushed it with your finger) ended up exploding into a complete and utter total rework of everything below her shoulders and exponential increase in the amount of system I was using for this build. I changed fucking everything, and it took multiple days to finally figure everything out. Verocia is now, somehow, even more of a rework than the Racasix build was, which means that that build I posted, as part of my standardized Vortixx build set, is now outdated. Yes. Outdated. Within a 4 day period. All because I wanted a system wedge to not fall off. I also want to elucidate on Verocia's design philosophy a bit. Thanks to Greg saying Vortixx are basically primarily black, and silver works incredibly well with that, the vast majority of Vortixx MOCs tend to follow that trend. I have *never* been okay with this. I stan the green mofo that Roodaka killed. I will not accept the litany of black and silver. So she was gonna be an off the wall colour. After establishing that baseline, and running a very Roodaka-ish design philosophy tools wise by Bobthedoctor, I decided that the primary two inspirations for Verocia would be two iconic female protagonists: Samus Aran, who's zero suit is the basis for the colours and shapes, and Bloodrayne, for whom I owe the idea of arm mounted flip blades.

So of course I had to build a giant fuckoff arm cannon for her. I don't know if the cannon will be...Ahem, *canon* to her appearance in my AU, as I don't know how to implement it into the story and whether to have her lose an arm or not, but it is decidedly awesome and hammers home the whole Samus Aran aesthetic. Zero suit Vortixx. Vortixx Prime. Unfortunately, if I really want the arm cannon to work I would have to completely change her colour scheme and shoulder armor, so this isn't as complete as the reference could be. Still, fucking awesome.

Metroid: Zero Mission is a remake and reimagining of the original Metroid (1986), developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. Gameplay Mechanics Zero Mission is a 2D Metroidvania — a mix of platforming, exploration, and action where gaining new items and abilities unlocks access to previously unreachable areas. Key features include:

• Power-Ups: Missile Tanks, Morph Ball, Bombs, Ice Beam, Varia Suit, Speed Booster, and more.

• Exploration-Based Progression: You’ll constantly backtrack to old areas with new abilities to uncover secrets.

• Map System: A detailed, color-coded map helps with navigation, solving a key flaw in the original.

• Tight Controls: Movement and combat are fluid, with responsive controls suited to modern players.

New Content & Enhancements While it closely follows the structure of the original Metroid, Zero Mission adds significant new gameplay and narrative segments:

• Zero Suit Samus: After completing the "original" mission, Samus’s gunship is shot down. She escapes without her Power Suit, forcing her into a tense, stealth-based infiltration of a Space Pirate mothership using only her agility and a stun pistol.

• New Areas: Chozodia (the Space Pirate base) and various hidden Chozo ruins weren’t present in the 1986 version.

• Boss Battles: Several bosses were redesigned or newly added, including Mecha Ridley.

• Save Stations: Replacing passwords from the NES version, save points make progress much more manageable.

Zero Mission had sold over 439,000 units in the United States and 69,000 in Japan as of February 2005. It was rereleased on the Virtual Console service for Wii U and the Nintendo Classics service for Nintendo Switch.
