sevrustobiasβ€Œ:
Following her gaze toward the shelf, his eyes scanned over the titles, although to be honest he had no idea what he was looking at. He knew less than nothing about films - which ones were good, or bad.Β β€œThat’s nice.” Severus murmured, a spark of envy flashing through him at the mention of her mum. It must be nice, to have a good relationship with your parents - to have any sort of relationship with your parents for that matter. Severus shifted slightly as she laid her head on his shoulder, taking his arm from underneath her and moving it to lay along the back of the couch behind her.
β€œUh…” He blew out a deep breath, scrunching his face slightly. He had absolutely no idea what Disney was, so he thought it probably safest to simply avoid it altogether, and the prospect of a scary movie didn’t particularly appeal to him, either. Plus, he had a hard time imagining Daisy enjoying them, and he wasn’t sure how much longer he may be of any help to her - she wasn’t the only one growing tired. He may have had the day off, but sleeping in was not something Severus was accustomed, or partial, to.Β β€œStar Wars, I suppose.” He decided, shrugging lightly and trying not to jostle her. He liked astrology, after all; perhaps it would be interesting, something he didn’t already know.Β β€œAre you sure you’re up for a film?” He asked, glancing down at her.Β β€œI mean, if you’re tired, I can go…” Severus bit his lip, not really wantingΒ to leave, but he didn’t want to inconvenience her if she was offering because she didn’t want to be rude.
Tumblr media
Daisy could feel herself smile at his choice. While science fiction wasn't usually her go-to, she had to admit that Star Wars was one of her favourites. Perhaps it was because of the ever charming Han Solo, or his adorable partner Chewbacca. "Good choice." Daisy commented, sitting herself up straight again. She frowned at the thought of him going so soon, no matter how tired she was, she didn't want their night to end. "I don't want you to go," She replied softly, her head shaking lightly, "I'm having a really nice time with you, I don't want it to end yet." She hoped she wasn't pressuring Severus into staying longer, though she figured if he wanted to leave he would make it known. Daisy knew him fairly well and she assumed he wouldn't still be here with her if he didn't want to be.
She stood and strolled over to the shelf of movies, pulling out Star Wars before popping it into the player. Daisy turned on her television and ensured the film was rewound before pressing play and making her way back. She pulled a blanket off the back of the couch, wrapping it around herself before sitting down beside him. "I think you'll like this," She said as she got comfortable, her head leaning on his shoulder again. "It's a bit slow to start, but there's lots of action about half way through. It starts to get really good when Han Solo is introduced, he's my favourite. I've got a bit of a crush on him, honestly." She admitted with a small giggle, though it seemed as though anybody that's watched Star Wars had a crush on him. Daisy's hand came up and rested lightly on Severus' chest, her eyes flashing up to his for a moment, "Are you sure you still want to be here? I don't want you to feel like you have to stay because I want you to."

Being surrounded by nature was always the place Daisy felt most at ease. She was able to let go of any bad energy surrounding her and soak up the positive vibes plants just always seemed to hold on to. She was lost in her own world, humming softly under her breath as she tended to the greenhouse, her chunky orange cat lazily padding behind her as she moved from plant to plant, ensuring each one was properly watered and no pests decided to feast on the leaves. Daisy paused in the middle of the greenhouse, bending down to pick her cat up and buried her in its belly,Β β€œWhat a beautiful day, Pumpkin.” She muttered into the fur, before placing Pumpkin back down on the floor,Β β€œNow, am I forgetting something?” She questioned aloud to herself, her eyes scanning the crowded greenhouse,Β β€œThe Moly will need to be trimmed up tomorrow, but as for now I believe everything is finished.”
Just as she was packing up her gardening tools, a ruffling noise from outside had caught her attention. Daisy’s eyes drifted out the foggy glass, a figure was approaching, though she was unsure if it was just a large animal or another person. Her hand quickly reached in her back pocket where she pulled her wand from as she slowly made her way towards the door,Β β€œHello?” She called out,Β β€œAnybody out there?”

After spending time with Severus every day for the past couple of months, it was strange to go a couple of days without him. She managed Saturday, seeing her parents was enough of a distraction not to worry about him too much, but now it was Sunday night and she was lonely. Usually the two of them would get dinner and watch a movie together on Sundays, so being alone for the first time in awhile felt odd. It was while she was cooking that Daisy noticed the bottle of rum sitting on the counter. She could only assume that Severus had left it there, seeing as she hadn't bought it, and it gave her an idea. Every time she had a drink, it always seemed to put her in a better mood, so perhaps it would help her miss Severus a little less.
It didn't seem to work, though, after four drinks she seemed to only miss him more. Eventually she couldn't take it anymore, she just wanted to see him and make sure he was okay, so she decided to pull on her shoes and jacket and head over to Severus' place to check up on him. Apparating just a few feet from his door, she took a moment to stable herself as she landed, giggling to herself at how wobbly she was. Marching up to his door, Daisy contemplated simply trying the knob and letting herself in, but she figured Severus wouldn't just leave it unlocked and she knocked instead. It felt like she was waiting forever for him to answer, but when the door finally opened, she could feel her features light up as she looked at him. "Oh, good! You're home." She giggled, staring at him with wide eyes, "I missed you, and I really wanted a hug."

She wasn't entirely sure how it happened, but her greenhouse had become infested with billywigs. Thankfully, there were only a few, but the darn things multiplied quickly and if Daisy didn't get the situation under control, she was positive the whole greenhouse would be full of them. She was in the greenhouse at the crack of dawn when she noticed the first one and had spent the rest of her morning hunting them down, making sure to capture them in jars rather than killing them. They didn't appear in England often and she knew they were used in potions, she figured Severus could get some use out of them. Five of them were captured in individual jars while one was still flying around, the silly looking bug seemed just as determined to sting her as she was to catch it. Her back was turned to the door when she heard it open, "Watch out for the billywig!" Daisy called, unsure of who had entered, but it didn't matter who it was, she didn't want them stuck levitating in her greenhouse for who knows how long.
The creature finally landed on the leaf of the ivy growing against the back wall, where Daisy was finally able to capture it. The poor thing looked rather tired, but she was quite proud she had caught them all before it became a real problem. "Got it!" She announced, holding the jar up as she turned to greet whoever had entered the greenhouse. Her eyes grew wide as she realized it was Severus, beaten and bruised. Not again. She hated seeing him like this.Β "Sev," Daisy said softly, placing the jar down and moving towards him quickly. "What happened? Are you okay?"

Her morning had slipped away from her. Daisy woke up at dawn each morning and spent hours taking care of her plants, but before she knew it her stomach was growling and her craving for tea had grown almost uncontrollable. Which was how she found herself in line at the cafe, her eyes scanning the display cases of pastries that continually refilled as they emptied, her mouth practically watering at the sight of croissants.
Daisy was next in line, she was basically bouncing with a mixture of impatience and excitement for breakfast. She was distracted quickly by the familiar sing-song voice behind her, her instinct instantly kicked in and she responded before she even had a moment to think, "Lucy-lou," it came out just as soft and song-like as Lucinda's voice. Turning on her heel, Daisy faced the younger girl with a smile spread across her face.
Throwing her arms around Lucinda, Daisy held on to her friend for much longer than she normally would have. Lucinda was much like a younger sister to her, someone who was just as lost and afraid at Hogwarts as she had been on her first day. It wasn't any mistake that the two of them became friends. Daisy spotted her instantly as she sat under the Sorting Hat, she looked confused and lost, as though she didn't belong in Slytherin. She had since been proven wrong, Slytherin was exactly where she needed to be and Daisy was glad to Β be able to call Lucinda one of her best friends.
"It's been too long, how are you?" She asked as she pulled away, "Are you getting breakfast? Do you have time to sit and chat for a bit? I've missed you."
Tumblr media
Hot tea and a biscuit on a chilly morning β€” how British Lucinda had become, but that’s exactly why she made her way into town. She could’ve made it at home but craved human interaction.
She stood in line to order her breakfast when she recognized the witch in front of her and felt immediate comfort. Daisy had always been a comfort.
Though the two were in different houses and different years, the Universe has brought them together. Lucinda was never sure why but through life had learned to accept and see the good around her. If that didn’t scream Daisy, she didn’t know what did. The older was on the quiet side which was not Lucindaβ€˜a style, but she not only appreciated it, she admired it. Not everyone could genuinely listen not only with their ears but with their being.
Daisy was too good for this world. A statement Lucinda told her constantly.
In many ways she reminded her of her sisters during their quieter moments together. She only had a few years of that before Daisy’s graduation but having a feeling of home when she knew nothing about the wizarding world she’d been thrust into was welcoming and what she needed during the jumpstart of her Hogwarts career.
Not wanting to startle her β€” because for some reason Daisy was very easy to startle β€” Lucinda found the young sing-song voice she had used when saying the other’s name in school.
β€œDaisy-do,” she sang with a bubble in her step.

As much as Daisy hated visiting Knockturn Alley, she was starting to get used to it. She tried to avoid it as much as possible, but she really liked to show up and surprise Severus while he was working. Besides, he had promised her to see her every day and she felt bad making him go out of his way all the time, the least she could do was return the effort. Now that she was a little more comfortable in the area, Daisy took her time as she made her way towards the apothecary, stopping to look in some shop windows instead of keeping her eyes forward. The displays in the shops were a little odd, but there was clearly a demand for the strange and obscure items as there were always people around.
She was stopped outside of Borgin and Burkes, fixated on what seemed to be a pile of human boned, topped with a skull. What anyone would need with those was beyond her, but it was quite interesting to see. Shaking her head as she stepped away from the window, Daisy turned to walk away. As she reached the edge of the building, it happened quick. A pair of hands appearing out of nowhere, grabbing hold of her and dragging her into the shadows. She wanted to scream, but she couldn't. She was completely frozen, panicked, it felt as though her body just stopped working. The person was speaking to her in an angry tone but she couldn't process the words, the only thought going through her mind was she needed her wand. It was tucked away in her boot, but she couldn't reach for it, realizing suddenly that she was completely bound to the spot. Finally, she managed to shriek for help, but she figured it was useless considering where they were.

Daisy hadn't realized how much time there was in a day until she had something to look forward to every day. Severus had been doing such a wonderful job at keeping his promise to see her every day but it made her incredibly anxious to wait around for him all day. Today was particularly bad, it was already after midnight and Daisy hadn't heard from him yet. She knew he had to work, but he usually dropped by when his shift was over to check in with her. She tried her best to keep herself distracted throughout the evening while she waited, but she quickly ran out of things to do. She could have easily gone to bed, but she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep while waiting to hear from Severus. So instead, she found herself curled up on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her, Star Wars was on in the background while she waited.
The movie hadn't been on long before there was a knock on the door. It startled her and she instinctively reached for her wand as she sat up. Daisy rubbed at her eyes and stood up, making her way towards the door. She was almost positive it was going to be Severus, but she kept her wand in her hand as she opened the door a crack to see who it was. A smile spread across her lips as she caught sight of Severus, but as she opened the door wider to let him in, her smile faded as she actually looked at him. He looked as though he had gotten into a fight, there was a cut across his cheek and dried blood on his face. Suddenly she felt wide awake, "Sev..." Daisy breathed as she tried to process what she was seeing, "What happ-" She cut herself off, it was the wrong question to ask. Did she really want to know what happened? She was sure it would just send her into a panic. Instead she cleared her throat and asked a different question, "Are you okay?"

Daisy stared at Severus as he walked away from her, leaving her sitting alone in a restaurant with tears streaming down her cheeks. She felt quite pathetic, thankfully she hadn't been crying hard enough to draw too much attention to herself. Just a couple of glances from the patrons at the nearby tables and a very sympathetic look from the woman behind the bar. She took a moment to try to calm herself down and let the information settle. They were broken up and there was no chance of them continuing on as friends, and she didn't even know what she had done to make him stop loving her. Daisy sighed heavily, pulling her jacket on and collecting her things before she headed towards the door, just wanting to get to the greenhouse and surround herself with her plants. Even if she did have the annoying task of repotting mandrakes, at least it would keep her busy.
As she went to push on the door, somebody on the other side had pulled it open and she fell into them. Daisy was about to apologize, but when she glanced up and realized she fell into Severus, she simply huffed and pushed by him. Why was he back? Had he not already done enough damage? Perhaps he lied when he said he wasn't hungry, and hoped she would be gone by now so he could return and enjoy his lunch alone. It didn't matter, anyway, she didn't want to talk to him, he could have his lunch in peace. She took a few steps up the street before disapparating, returning to the greenhouse. Pushing open the door, Daisy slipped out of her jacket, her emotions catching up to her as she hung it up and she sank down to the floor, hiding her face in her hands as she sobbed.

sevrustobias:
He sighed a breath of relief as she spoke, not realizing he’d been holding it until right then. Okay. One little word that meant more to him in that moment than he could say. Severus nodded, meeting her eyes, his voice not quite working. He readjusted slightly as she came closer, not realizing just how much he had missed her presence. Severus let the gentle touch of her fingertips relax him, glancing over at her once more. He wrapped an arm around her, his free hand coming up to smooth her hair before he kissed the top of her head. β€œI won’t.” He responded quietly, finally finding his voice. No, if something came between them again, it wouldn’t be his own doing.Β
He leaned his cheek on her hair, wondering idly where they were supposed to go from here. He knew he was only muddling through so far, completely unsure of what he was supposed to be doing, but he supposed he must be doing somewhat alright, if she had agreed to give him another chance. β€œI understand.” Severus nodded again, prone to outbursts himself when his emotions got out of check. His eyes trailed down to his forearm as she spoke, wondering if she was really okay with all of this - would seeing it over and over, a stark reminder of what he was and what he’d done, what he would continue to do, just push her further away? He supposed only time would tell. β€œOkay.” Severus replied easily, actually finding the sentiment to be a rather good idea. He always felt better with a bit of structure, and this was no different. Maybe this way he wouldn’t feel so out of his depth. β€œSo what, exactly, are these rules, then?"Β
Tumblr media
Even though it had only been a few days, Daisy missed having his arms around her. She instantly relaxed against him, her other arm wrapping around him in a sideways hug, glad to finally feel like things were okay again. She knew things weren't back to normal, not yet anyway, but at least in the moment it felt that way. As she sat back up, Daisy was glad that Severus didn't push back on the idea of rules but hated that she felt the need to even suggest it in the first place. If they wanted to make things work out, though, she needed to set her boundaries.
Taking a moment to think, her hand rested gently on his knee. "I just..." Daisy paused, not entirely sure what she was going to say. Everything was planned out in her head so perfectly before she showed up, but none of that ended up playing out the way she had wanted. She took a deep breath before trying again. "I don't want to know anything. Not unless I ask." Daisy met his gaze again, a terrified look in her eyes, "I'm really scared, Sev. About everything. Not knowing makes me feel better. And I know this might sound a little excessive but I want to see you every day. Even if it's just for a second. To know you're safe."

She was nervous. Daisy wanted to meet Severus' friends but she had no idea what to expect from them. Meeting Regulus was easy, he was outgoing and likeable, though she knew not to expect that from everybody. But she had been invited along to join him and Lucius for lunch and Daisy wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to meet another one of Severus' friends.
Just as she was headed out the door, a letter landed in her hand. Severus was held up brewing a potion he quite literally couldn't walk away from and he was going to be late, but to go on without him, he would meet up with them as soon as he could. Daisy sighed as she folded the letter and stuffed it in her bag. There was no reason for her to be so nervous, she was good at talking to people, making friends. This should be easy, though maybe a little awkward without Severus there.
Glad they had settled on the Leaky Cauldron, Daisy turned up early to choose a seat. Somewhere near the middle of the room, not too far from the door but also not completely hidden in the back. She ordered a butterbeer while she waited, sitting patiently as she waited for Lucius to show up. Her eyes snapped towards the door as somebody entered the bar, instantly recognizing Malfoy as he walked in. Daisy smiled at him, raising her hand in a small wave to get his attention, not knowing whether he would know who she was or not.

Daisy sat and watched the clock hanging over the door of the Leaky Cauldron. She had a rather long morning in the greenhouse and was quite excited to take a break and see Severus for a little bit. They were supposed to meet up for lunch, but she had arrived much earlier than planned, feeling the need to get out of the greenhouse for once in her life. Repotting mandrake had given her an awful headache and sitting in the quiet pub already made her feel much better, even if she had only been there for a few minutes. Daisy sat near one of the few windows, keeping her eyes peeled for Severus, though she had low expectations that he would be as early as she was. He was at work, after all, and if he was stuck brewing something there was a possibility that he would be late.Β
It came as a surprise that he actually was early, though. Shooting him a confused glance as she watched him enter, she shrugged her shoulders, brushing it off. He must have finished whatever he was doing early. Although, she had been mostly watching out the window and hadn't seen him approach. Perhaps he had come from the opposite direction. "You're early." Daisy said as though it wasn't the most obvious thing in the world, and grinned at him. "Don't worry, I'm not complaining. It means I get more time with you." She clarified with a giggle, kicking out the chair across from her with her foot for him to sit down. "Work must have been slow today?"

Where: Slinkhard Residence When: Christmas Evening Who: Daisy & @wendyslinkhcrd
It had been some time since Daisy had seen Wendy. The last time was at St. Mungo’s, Wendy wasn’t awake at the time but her mother had filled her in on what happened. Or at least what they thought happened. Daisy left a floral arrangement for her friend but with the holiday season approaching she was much too busy to see the Slinkhard’s again since. Not a day had passed that she hadn’t thought about them, though. It had been a tradition since they were children for their families to visit each other Christmas night with a small gift, the adults would drink and gossip while Daisy and Wendy would show off gifts to each other and play. She wasn’t sure if she was going to show up, after the events of the previous night, but she was seeking normalcy and found herself on the familiar doorstep of the Slinkhard family.
Her fist raised to knock on the door, Daisy glanced around anxiously as she waited for an answer. She instantly relaxed when Wendy opened the door, a grin spreading across her lips.Β β€œHey!” She greeted, extending her arms for a hug.Β β€œHappy Christmas. I brought some wine for your parents.” As she pulled away, a sympathetic look covered her face,Β β€œI’m sorry I didn’t visit sooner. I hope I’m not intruding. I just wanted a normal Christmas, as normal as it can be, given the circumstances.”

Daisy stood near the entrance of the walking trail in the park as she waited patiently for Ted. She found herself rather excited to be hanging out with him, she always did somewhat look up to him. He was great company - very laid back and easy going, exactly the type of person she loved to surround herself with. Severus was working, and Daisy had finished up in the greenhouse much earlier than usual, so she had written to Ted asking to go for a walk with her. His answer was almost immediate and he agreed to meet with her an hour later. Without anything else to do while she waited, she made her way out to a nearby cafΓ© and grabbed each of them a hot chocolate before going to the park.
When she spotted him, her smile lit up and she held up one of the cups in her hand as a way to wave at him. "Hey!" Daisy called out, bouncing slightly in place. As he grew closer, she handed one of the cups to him with a grin. "I know that you're usually the one with sweets, but I figured since I was dragging you along with me it was the least I could do." Daisy giggled, turning towards the walking path. Spring was right around the corner, which meant the snow was finally starting to melt, but that also meant things were getting rather muddy. "I hope you're not wearing shoes you're in love with. My boot almost got stuck in the mud the last time I was here."

It was getting late and she really should have been heading back home, but she simply couldn't bring herself to leave just yet. Being in the greenhouse always made her feel so safe, like nothing could possibly hurt her while she was surrounded by her plants. Severus hadn't been by yet, and while she could wait for him at home, she had a lot of extra stock today and wanted him to see if there was anything of use to him. So, she stayed in the greenhouse, bowtruckles crawling up her arms as she leaned against one of the counters. Daisy heard some rustling outside, a smile spreading across her lips as she expected to see Severus walk through the door. She plucked the bowtruckles off her arm and returned them to their plant before turning towards the door.
The head of red hair told her that it definitely wasn't Severus entering. "Lily!" Daisy exclaimed, eyes growing wide at the sight of her. "What a surprise!" On one hand, it was lovely to see Lily, it had been far too long since they have gotten a chance to catch up. On the other hand, though, Daisy had been avoiding her. It was rather childish, really, she should have sought out Lily awhile ago to talk to her about her relationship with Severus, but she really couldn't bring herself to do so. She didn't have the whole story, but she did know the two of them had a complicated history and she felt like she was being a bad friend for not even asking about it. "Lovely to see you. What brings you here?" Daisy asked rather anxiously, almost bracing herself for the worst. Even if she wasn't here to ask about Severus, it wouldn't be a good idea for her to stick around long, he could walk through the door at any moment and she really didn't any of them to be put in an uncomfortable situation.

World Cup Event Where: The Lake District Who: Daisy & @xfenwicks
Although Daisy wasn't much of a sports fan, events like this were hard to pass up. Especially when an old friend had invited her to come along and watch the games with them. Her and Benjy had decided to meet up at the front gates of the Lake District, a little bit early to ensure they had time to check out the vendors and have time to find a seat for the game. Daisy was always one to show up way earlier than she was supposed to, and she ended up having a half an hour to spare before her and Benjy were supposed to meet up. She spent that time wandering around, looking in on some tents and sending out smiles to anybody she recognized.
A few minutes before she was supposed to meet Benjy, Daisy stopped in at the bar to get a drink for them. She figured the crowd and everything else might be a little more tolerable with alcohol in their systems. She carefully headed back towards the entrance with a butterbeer for herself and a firewhiskey for Benjy, who she spotted waiting for her. "Benjy!" Daisy called, excitement in her voice. She approached him carefully, not wanting to spill their drinks, then extended the glass of firewhiskey out to him, "Figured we'd have more fun with a drink." She giggled before taking a sip of her butterbeer, "I've had a chance to check out a few things, but I didn't go in to any of the tents because I wanted to wait for you."
