LOCATION: the salty sailor bar

The Salty Sailor Bar...how painfully dull. The cozy seaside atmosphere didn't suit Axel well. No, he'd much rather spend the night in a dingy dive-bar, somewhere the music was so loud you could barely hear your own thoughts and an exciting brawl could break out at any moment over some trivial problem that only a drunken fool would care about. There was a real lack of anything he'd deem exciting here, but what was the alternative way to spend his night? Go to back to his place to play a riveting game of what is my annoying roommate upset about this time? Hard pass.

His fingers restlessly drummed against the bar counter, "There has to be something more exciting going on somewhere in town." His initial complaint wasn't voiced to anyone in particular, but his attention soon settled on the person seated near him. "You know, a party to crash, some Floridian misadventure..." Purposefully causing problems at an event he wasn't invited to, Florida Man antics, tagging along for a revenge scheme, whatever – he wasn't choosy when it came his entertainment for the night.

Her Superman comment caught him off guard in the best way possible. "You really think I'm chivalrous? Here I assumed my winning personality sealed the deal," he said, deflecting with humor while secretly treasuring every word. The way she lit up about his organizational habits validated every spreadsheet he'd ever created. "Let me organize your world. I'll label everything from your kitchen cabinets to your sock drawer. But once we start, there's no turning back. You'll be stuck with my color-coding system forever." When she brought up his mom's prediction about them being inevitable, his mind wandered to the upcoming dinner with her parents.

Meeting them as her boyfriend rather than just a friend terrified him more than he cared to admit. "You want to know what scares me about meeting your parents? Everything. I'm scared they'll take one look at me and decide I'm not what they want for you. Being your friend was easy—being the guy who wants to build a future with their daughter? That's different." Those words packed more of a punch than he'd bargained for, so naturally, he did what any emotionally stunted fool would do—he cracked a joke. "If the tiramisu doesn't win them over, we could always run away to Vegas." His attempt at lightness didn't quite mask the vulnerability underneath, but with her, maybe that was okay. Something about her made him want to be honest, even when honesty felt like free-falling without a safety net. Her belief in him made everything seem possible, even if his insecurities kept trying to convince him otherwise. The way she looked at him like he already had all the answers made him want to become that person—someone worthy of that trust, that faith, that future she seemed to see so clearly.

Samira had been standing alone for a few moments, waiting for her friend to get done with her appointment at the local hospital when she spotted someone she didn't really know but knew she had to apologize to. Axel Hughes. That was the name she'd learnt from Gwendolyn and when the other had told her that the man had clear alibi's for the times of all the town occurring, she knew she'd jumped to a conclusion that wasn't fair. "Hey there, not sure you remember me?" She tapped him on the shoulder and waited for him to turn around. "I believe...I owe you an apology." If he had no idea what she'd done--clearly he'd be confused by her statement seeing as the last time they'd met, he'd been the one acting out of sorts.

Everyone thought that Duke was happily married to his high school sweetheart and, in his book, he had been happy. As a firefighter, he was by no means bringing in an exorbitant amount of money, but she'd been busy with college and starting her career while he balanced work and renovations on their fixer upper that would one day be the home they started a family in. He was exactly the person you expected to have two kids and a white picket fence. Now there was a 'sold' sign in the yard and just the large furniture to get rid of. Slumping onto the sofa, Duke passed a beer to Axel and smiled. "I can't believe it took a year after the divorce to sell this place. I was starting to think it was cursed."

With a chuckle, he popped the cap off and looked over at his best friend, his gaze lingering a moment too long as he took a swig of the cool drink. "Thanks for offering to help. I know you're busy as hell, but I feel like I've kept my distance since she and I broke up and that I owe you an explanation." As his oldest friend and one of the few that knew the couple since their dating years, Axel should have been the perfect person to talk to about why the breakup happened... except it had everything to do with Axel and his best friend knew nothing about Duke's complicated feelings.

Jax gently poked. Riona's rib, "do not bring me into this..." He said as he put a cookie into his wife's mouth. "Shh" he hushed her and chuckled.

To say Daryn was nervous would probably be an understatement as he walked up to the front door of the address Livia had sent him. He was dressed casually with a pair of baggy pants and a loose shirt, with chains around his neck.

He wore two chains, one belonged to his late twin(the black chain) and one was his own(the silver one), and he fiddled with them nervously as he stood on the stoop, trying to gain the courage to knock.

He was supposed to be picking Livia up and bringing her to his mother's house. Rhiannon had demanded to meet his first ever girlfriend and invited her to dinner. Unfortunately, his mother had invited the rest of his siblings also.

Daryn sighed and quickly brought his hand up to knock on the door.

"tough night, huh?" the blond questioned, arching up a brow. "think it was the heat. i mean i'm sweatin' like a motherfucker right now," axel explained. "looks like it's gonna be me and ol' lefty tonight." there was a trickle of laughter that escaped his mouth, a soft smile coming across his face.

How cool would it be to come back from a mission with something better than a skateboard? With this thought in mind, he strolls up behind the one hunched over the solarsurfer he's been staring at.

Now, they seemed woven with an eerie significance—he clung to the hope that it was nothing more than a macabre coincidence. With each step towards his bedroom, he silently pleaded for two outcomes: to avoid encountering another lifeless form and to find Dani safe and sound. His heart pounded as he turned the doorknob, stealing a quick glance into the room. Relief flooded his senses as he laid eyes on Dani, untouched by harm. A nervous chuckle bubbled from his lips as he rushed towards her, instinctively wrapping his arms around her. Not typically one to wear his emotions on his sleeve, Axel found himself unable to contain the overwhelming relief flooding through him. "I'm so glad you're alright," he murmured, his embrace tightening involuntarily. It took him a moment to gather himself, releasing her reluctantly. "Fuck, something seriously fucked up is going on here."

"well, that was fucking awkward," axel finally spoke with a smirk. as much as he could pretend it was hilarious to him, he knew his feelings were more hurt than he let on. "does he know about what we did... like even a week ago?"
