The sentences "Asexuals can still have sex" and "Aromantics can still date" need to go up on the high shelf for everyone except aces and aros talking about their own experiences. From now on, everyone else has to use the revolutionary new phrase "Asexuals and aromantics can do whatever the fuck they want forever."

Let Bob drink his tea in peace!
⭑.ᐟ roomates!pb&jj au

#4 - the one where joaquin gets really, really drunk
summary: joaquin convinces his friends to go out for drinks. when shots come in, his annoyance with peter and johnny comes out.
warnings: alcohol consumption. maybe a few swear words? reminder that english is not my first language. don’t repost anywhere!
Bob let out a deep sigh, practically melting on the couch. It had been such a long week, with kids running around the classroom, refusing to behave.
He genuinely loved being a music teacher, he loved the moments where a kid would show real interest in learning, or the huge smile on their faces when they got something right, and the peaceful moments where he’d play a song and all the kids would sit down on the floor and sway their heads left and right. He loved the power music had on people, and kids would always express it so openly. And if he ever got the dream opportunity of working as a music therapist, he thinks he’d miss the school kids.
But right now? He doesn’t want to see a kid for the next two days. He doesn’t even want to think about the kids.
He just wants to lay on the couch, have a cup of any warm drink in his hand, a book on his lap that he’s been trying to read for the past week and couldn’t find the time.
Of course, Joaquin shows up as soon as he lays his eyes on the first paragraph.
“Bob, hey! Go get ready, we’re going out tonight!”
Bob – poor, comfy, melting on the couch Bob – suppresses a groan. “We are?”
“Yeah, to the bar down the street!” Joaquin looks at Bob, his face crumpled “Oh, c’mon! We haven’t really gone out since the boys and I got here. Please, Bob.”
“Okay, fine! I’ll go!”
Leaving the warmness of the couch behind, Bob had to admit he had been wishing he could bond with the other guys a little.
He was more familiar with Johnny – it surprised him, actually, that not only he was the first one he got closer with, but also that it was quite easy for him. Johnny would often come over around dinner time and help him make something for the four of them, or would ask Bob if he wanted to try out a new recipe he was coming up with and still testing. They’d do some small talk over the ingredients, every now and then sharing stories about work and life before and during college while cutting vegetables.
Things were a bit different with Peter. He was nice, sure, in his own shy way, and he’d try to start conversations too. But of course, it fell short whenever Johnny came along. And he was around quite a lot.
Bob, never one to avoid awkwardness well, had asked Joaquin before about their animosity, but he had always said the same thing, with a shrug.
“I don’t know, man. They’ve been like this since forever.”
Bob knew it bothered Joaquin. It bothered him too, but he wasn’t the one that had been living with their jabs and complaints for four years now. Bob got in the shower, slightly shaking his head and leaving behind thoughts on the sour relationship between his neighbours.
-
It was supposed to be a chill hangout. Joaquin swears they’d only get a few drinks, loose up a little, get to know each other more.
It had been a couple weeks of living together and things were finally starting to settle, routine starting to make them turn to their hermit habits – everyone going back to their own bedrooms as soon as they finished cleaning up after dinner.
Joaquin wanted to hang out with his friends. Wanted to watch a movie after dinner, the four of them. He wanted Bob to get along with their new neighbours, and more than anything, for Peter and Johnny to work things out.
But the pub had trivia that night, and Joaquin is nothing if not competitive. After all four of them yelled through answering the questions — the last one, the decisive one, being answered correctly by Bob — they ended up winning free shots for the night.
Things started going downhill after his fourth.
“I can walk myself home, thank you very much!” Joaquin squirmed, pulling his arm out of Johnny’s hand and started walking backwards, looking at his friends like he had just proved himself right.
“Does he realise he’s actually going the wrong way?” Bob whispers from behind Johnny.
“No, he doesn’t!” Peter walks past both of them and grabs Joaquin by his shoulders right before he turns the corner. “It’s that way, you dumbass!”
“Heh, I knooow…” his voice slurred, his feet tumbling, “I’m only messing with you guys!"
“Right, okay champ. Let’s go home, shall we?” Bob starts to turn, before Joaquim squirms out of their reach again, this time walking directly towards Bob and grabbing his shoulders.
“Dude, I’m so glad you asked us to move in with you,” Joaquin shakes Bob back and forth. “I can’t believe I get to live with my best friends! This is like, a dream! And all because you made it all work, Bobby!”
Joaquin is yelling at this point. Bob feels his cheeks and ears burning, and Johnny is trying really hard to stifle a laugh. Peter is just annoyed, desperate to go home after not getting enough drinks — Joaquin stole a few from him.
“Yeah, hooray, we all live together. Can we please go home now?”
“Peter, you’re so unappreciative” Joaquin deadpans, and Peter ogles him.
Johnny is now cackling, adding fuel to the fire.
“Yeah Peter, you are so unappreciative!”
“Don’t start.” Peter simply raises his hand, blocking Johnny’s face from his view, making the blonde chuckle again, “Joaquin, what are you talking about?”
Joaquin puts his finger in Peter’s face “I’m talking about you being so grumpy! And you!” Joaquin quickly turns to Johnny, pointing at him too.
“—Me?”
“You both refuse to get along! And for what?” Bob is trying to stop Joaquin from causing a scene — far too late for that —, but he keeps throwing his arms around and yelling. “Me and Bob keep walking on eggshells because you two keep bickering! You’ve known each other for years now! Get over yourselves and do something about it! Here, let’s go home, Bob.”
Joaquin grabs Bob by his left arm and walks off, still stumbling. Bob looks so frazzled that he can’t even complain about being pulled so harshly, just mouths a “I-I’ll see you guys later” and follows Joaquin home.
Peter and Johnny stand behind, faces aghast, in total disbelief of what Joaquin had yelled.
“That was… unexpected.” Peter breaks the silence.
“Was it, though?” Johnny turns to him, his arms crossed, his forehead crumpled. “I mean, he has been saying it for a while now. Maybe not so… intense, I think.”
“No, yeah, yeah. I guess you’re right.”
Johnny fakes a shocked face, his jaw dropping dramatically.
“Am I hearing this right? You’re saying I’m right?”
“Oh, shut up!” Peter pushes him by the shoulders, walking past him, then suddenly turning around “Look, we both had drinks. Could we talk it out in the morning?”
Johnny looks at Peter, his face blank, his gears turning, wondering how to react.
“You really wanna talk this out?”
“You don’t?” Peter opens his arms, then running his hands through his hair in distress. “Joaquin is right, I’m tired of walking on eggshells around you. It’s my apartment too–”
“I never said it wasn’t!”
“I didn’t say that!” Peter’s palms go straight to his face, rubbing his temples. Johnny thinks Peter is acting so twitchy, and it dawns on him that he never realised that, even though he’s been somewhat around him for at least two years now. “God, you’re impossible! I’m trying to be the bigger person here and offer an olive branch, but if you’d rather stay pissed forever then–”
“I don’t.” Johnny interrupts abruptly, not looking up. Peter thinks he looks almost defeated. “You’re right, I don’t wanna stay pissed forever.”
Peter drops his arms, then, a smirk slowly grows on his face.
“You’re saying I’m right, Johnny?”
“Oh, piss off!”
And Johnny tries, he really, really tries. But Peter can see a hint of a smile showing on his face, his mouth curling slightly down.
“We’ll talk it out in the morning, alright?”
“Yeah. Yeah, we’ll talk in the morning.” They both start walking the same way, not quite side by side, but not so far away either.
notes: building johnny’s and peter’s sour feelings for one another without being too specific (for now!) was somewhat of a challenge. the next blurb takes place the day after, and it’s one i’ve had in mind since i started this series, and i’m just as excited as i am nervous about it. thank you so much for reading! mwah <3

I'll be using "spectator mode" to explain myself from now on lol
Today I was chatting with two guys and mentioned I was aroace. It went a little something like this.
A: wtf is that
B: it means she’s not attracted to people in that way
A: bro you can’t just not pick a side, that’s crazy
B: nah, it just means she’s spectator mode
A: OHHH IT MAKES SENSE NOW
I have never felt more validated or laughed so hard
#i also like to say i like things in theory but not in practice#cause i love shipping characters and reader instert fanfiction

“Yelena isn’t aroace in the MCU—“
WRONG! And just for that I’m making this whole movie into aromantic asexual propaganda!!

BOOM!

Boom! Aroace Yelena!

Boom! Demiromantic Walker!

Boom! Lithsexual/lithromantic Ava!

Boom! Aegoromantic/aegosexual Alexei!

Boom! Greysexual/greyromantic Bucky!

Boom! Cupioromantic Bob!

Boom! Asexual Mel!

Boom! Aromantic Valentina!
You’re welcome fellow aroaces 🥰
Seriously though, this movie is extremely resonating for me as a person on the aro/ace spectrum.
There is no romantic subplot, the movie doesn’t ship any of the characters with each other.
The Thunderbolts are all lost, hopeless, and lonely— and what connection gives them hope? The platonic love they form with each other. It isn’t romance. It is love, though, real love that is so important. The power of friendship saves the day, and from an aroace person who’s tired of seeing romance being the happy ending and fix for everything, that means so much.
Not all love is romantic, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t just as much a kind of love and just as capable of saving the universe <3

Thank god for Soy Luna 4. I watched that show 10 years ago when it first aired on Disney Channel and now that the new season is being shot my entire Twitter feed is about Soy Luna and right on time cause now if there's a leak or a fantastic four spoilers chances are I won't see it.
I need the algorithm to work with me for a month at least.

I realized that when I think about pbjj headcanons I see Bob as more quiet and keeping to himself and it made me think that peter, joaquin and johnny are his first friend group in ages (probably ever) and they are all yappers.
Bob is the quiet one, he listens it's not like he can share anything with them other than what happens at the tower with the Thunderbolts. Johnny usually has a story about his nephew or how he gets on Reed's or Ben's nerves, Peter is all about college and whatever happened during his patrol as spiderman and Joaquin geeks out about the gadgets he uses with Sam and how they can be improved or about how he successfully helped Sam during a mission.
Bob doesn't think they want to hear about how Alexei almost burned the kitchen or how Yelena and Ava team up to roast Walker and talking about himself...well, that has never been of anyone's interest so he just stays quiet listening to whatever they have to say. He likes it that way, he likes listening to their voices.
Although, this doesn't goes unnoticed by his new friends. It doesn't take long for them to notice that Bob usually shrinks himself or that he doesn't really speak so they directly address him during every conversation asking him directly about what's going on at the tower.
This makes Bob more open talking about little things that happened in the tower like the time Ava scared the shit out of Bucky by walking through a wall, Joaquin loved that one he said he would tell Sam about it or about how he's slowly training more and more with the rest of team.
A spark was ignited in Bob after finding the Thunderbolts but Peter, Johnny and Joaquin made it brighter.
#this was supposed to be a silly little thing#not this big ass headcanon omg#those are my found families right there#pbjj#pb&jj#pb+jj#peter parker#bob reynolds#joaquin torres#johnny storm#tom holland#lewis pullman#danny ramirez#joseph quinn
