Trying To Make Positive Changes
I haven't made an actual post here in a while. I'm not sure it'll even get read, but that's okay. I’m really posting for myself anyway.
I’ve been trying to make positive changes this year, and while there are areas I’m struggling in, I think I’m doing a good job. For one, I’ve been going to the gym with my younger sister and sometimes our best friend. I also do at-home exercises on days I don’t go to the gym (with at least two rest days). I’ve been consistent with it, as much as possible, and even upped my activity recently (with guidance from my sister, who’s been going to the gym longer). I’ve also started drinking water more, which was one of the areas I’ve struggled in — but it’s improving. Another area is self-employment taxes — I owe federal and get back from the state. I’d stupidly save up for what I owed and keep the state taxes. I’ve decided that from now on, to just use the state to pay the SE taxes and be done with it. It’s one less thing to stress over. That’s another thing — I’m trying to minimize my stress, I no longer engage in certain behaviors (i.e., drama) from people I’m not close with. I set boundaries last year, and I’m being more firm with it this year. I simply don’t have the time or energy for it, especially when it’s something new every week. I’m looking to budget better (i.e., taking food with me when going out instead of shopping when hungry), and I’ve been paying off my credit card on time. My sleep schedule and time management need improving because I fell out of things, but I’m currently working on them.
I also have goals in mind that I’ll keep to myself, especially since some of them may not even happen until 2025. I’m really trying to do better in 2024 — more smiles and less anxiety, and of course, feeling productive and healthy. :)
