Mini-review:

This has been at the top of my watchlist for years, and I'm so glad I finally looked it up. I can certainly see why it was so divisive, but I found it to be a thoroughly mesmerizing experience. It presents quite a few fascinating moral issues, which propel the central romance. And it works, thanks to Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet's luminous chemistry and acting. Mark Rylance and Michael Stuhlbarg offer truly creepy performances, too. Plus, the whole thing is a visual wonder. You can tell from the very first scene that it was shot on film; like, this is how movies are supposed to look. There are shots that look like paintings. So yeah, kudos to Arseni Khachaturan for his cinematography work. Anyway, with Bones and All, Luca Guadagnino continues to build an inimitable filmography.
