everyone talking about the reader crying, i wanna know if REWRITE ever cries. or has cried… or will cry 👀

i don't think rewrite would ever cry, no.

buuut an idea i've been tossing around is when they show like... what i call, their "digital translation of emotions". it's hard to explain but i'll try my best.

it's stated that rewrite doesn't experience or show emotions the same way humans do, and any emotion they do show is a "translation" of what they're experiencing. for example, rewrite is canonly described as "feeling grey" when they're in their midareta form. and with their instability and glitching, i perceive that to mean they're dissociating or even panicking, maybe. are they actually panicking? idk. but that's the point, you can only get a vague grasp of what they're feeling, since all of their emotions are expressed through a "digital translation". they're an otherworldly being so they don't show or feel emotions the same way. does that make sense?? probably not.

so while rewrite would probably never cry, since that's a human way to express intense sadness or grief... they might be able to experience very similar, intense emotions. they would just express them in a different way. for example, maybe their model could lose its textures (due to losing control of themself/breaking down, similarly to someone crying), maybe there would be a constant static sound in the background (due to it being a constant pressure on them), maybe it would look exactly like their midareta form. i have a lot of ideas for how sadness might present in rewrite :)

rewrite might mimic crying as a joke or to manipulate reader into doing something tho.
