Being anxious and upset and overwhelmed and stressed out and depressed is okay. It’s okay to feel those ways. They’re normal emotions that we need to feel and experience and it’s okay to do so. But it’s just as important to take a deep breath, step back from it all, and put it into perspective and ask yourself…

Am I going to die? No. Good. Is the world collapsing around me? No. Good. Do I still have a pulse and a breath in my lungs? Yes. Good. Am I able to make a plan to solve the things that are making me anxious? Yes. The answer is always yes. There’s always a way out of it. It may take time and creativity, but anything is possible.

So good. Take a deep breath. You are not dying. Tell your fight or flight response to relax. You’re not in a life or death situation. You don’t need to be so anxious.

Take another deep breath. Can you feel your heart rate come down? Good. Let your parasympathetic nervous system take over.

Everything is going to be okay. The world isn’t ending and you’re not in danger of dying. Deep breaths. You’ve got this.

gar moments that aren’t all about rachel:

larry setting out a whole other section of the table for gar’s vegan diet

multiple copies of gar’s picture of himself and his parents

rita ‘pulling herself together’ to go downstairs for dinner because it was important to gar that she did

cliff ruffling his hair

rita, cliff and larry all mutually deciding that gar needs to get the hell out of the mansion before the chief wakes up, they have his bag ready for him

kory and duck being all “yeah sure” about gar coming along

duck, who we’ve seen before is tetchy about people fixating on his connection to batman, smiling fondly when gar was geeking out

duck telling gar kindly that he wouldn’t be meeting batman, overall he was just a lot less foul about the topic

kory and gar high fiving

gar being delighted by her powers, and kory being delighted by gar’s

duck calling out to gar in the asylum, immediately worried, and how kory and duck both freeze dead when the guards pull a gun on gar

gar tolerating the torture surprisingly well, and given what chief said about the mansion and what he does to the doom patrol, gar is likely used to being put through painful things

kory being reassured by gar when he’s about to take the tube out of her

gar comparing kory and duck to being his parents (sunk my ship but i’m not mad tbh it was too cute)

gar’s devastated expression when duck took off

kory telling gar to never be ashamed of defending himself and his friends, and answering his questions

I think my dream aesthetic is just to be slightly inhuman looking. Like no crazy mods or anything. Ill even have natural hair. But i just want to be off putting. I want people to look at me and feel that something is off. Something isnt right. There is ~something~ going on with me and it makes them nervous or unsettled. Like having skin a little too shiny or canines a little too long, ears a little too pointy. I want to be someone who if you saw in the woods at night, you would question your own sanity.
