I'm not derivative. YOU ARE!
When a mega popular series drops new lore and includes major things that coincidentally are also or similar to your own series’ writing.

So, funny story
You know that scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End where the pirate lords are presenting the 9 pieces of 8, and Barbossa reveals his piece is Ragetti's wooden eye?
Well, as a child I completely misread that scene, and so for years I was under the impression that Ragetti, the comic relief side character, was actually a pirate lord.

btw this is the only real difference between, any other perceived difference is a side effect of personal hygene
The difference between Moist Critikal and Asmongold is that Moist Critikal is in a perpetual state of "Just got out the shower" and Asmongold has never taken a shower in his life.

Have you ever gotten into power scaling? Do you have any thoughts about it and/or its culture?
I haven't engaged with it enough to have any deep knowledge of the culture of it so I won't comment on that. Like, I used to watch Death Battle, that's basically it.
For myself, I think power scaling is a fun intellectual and creative exercise, especially when you're trying to reconcile power sets from disparate properties that have vastly different thematic meanings and try and figure out some common metric by which they might be measured.
The part about power scaling I dislike is how easily it feeds an obsession with power as the primary metric or worth or value, and the ways in which it can lead to some really reductive and at worst anti-intellectual interpretations of media. Like, there's a subset of One Piece fans for example who insist that Nami - the navigator of the goddamn pirate ship - is "the most useless Straw Hat," entirely because she doesn't win a lot of big fights. Or there's a subset of Batman fans who very defensively insist that Batman could ALWAYS win ANY fight with ANY opponent so long as he has time to prepare, because their metric for whether or not he's a good hero is entirely measured by who he could take in a fight.
That sh*t is annoying, juvenile and often pretty reactionary, but like most such things it also comes from a very loud but very small minority of the fandom group, who probably shouldn't be held up as representative of the whole.
tl;dr power scaling is fun, people who make power scaling the center of their engagement with media are not fun

Does anyone else find it interesting that the term "power scaling" has taken on a new meaning?
What the term used to mean was the process of measuring the power of a fictional character indirectly, specifically by comparing them to other characters. For example: if character A can blow up a planet, and character B is stronger than them, it's safe to assume character B can also blow up a planet, even if they've never been shown doing so.
However, recently I've seen it being used to refer to measuring a character's strength directly via calculations. The meaning has changed from "figuring out how strong a character is by comparing them to other characters" to "figuring out how strong a character is."

He's farming, mind your own business
The idea of the magic card "Swords to plowshares" is essentially that target creature rejects the way of the sword and becomes a farmer instead, hence you lose them as a combatant but gain the health from their farming.
This is really fuckin funny in conjunction with a lot of potential targets for that card. Can you just imagine you're an average farmer in an MTG plane, have a normal-ass day, and all of a sudden you look to the east, and stretching up past the clouds you see Ulamog, the despoiler, one of the infamous eldrazi titans, a creature that corrupts all that is good by its mere presence. And all the enormous bastard is doing is using their massive fuckin tendrils to plow the land and plant potatos, and tend to their flocks of eldrazi spawn, and then it turns its eyeless head thats the size of several cities at you and tips its wide brimmed straw hat at you and continues going about its work.

Dreamt up a whole episode of Doctor Who last night
So in the dream, the Ninth Doctor (Rose was not there for some reason) traveled to a place where the flow of time was all messed up. Like people were walking around talking to their past selves, buildings were aging and deaging, stuff like that. The Doctor does some exploring and finds out the people of this world were using a piece of old Time Lord technology to control the flow of time. For reasons I can't remember, he is not a fan of this, so he steals the device and tries to set the flow of time back to normal. What he doesn't realize is that the device had been modified and so he ends up accidentally erasing all of time. He survives by going in the Tardis, but when he comes out the whole universe is just a white void. He then finds the device, which also survived, and he manages to repair it and reset the entire universe back to normal.
I've seen, like, one season of Doctor Who and it was years ago. Why did I dream of this now.
