To be fair, if I go to the grocery store while hungry, I'm way more likely to buy random foods that aren't on my grocery list.

If I go to the grocery store when I'm not hungry, it's easier for me to stay on track and only go for the items that are on the list.

"don't go grocery shopping when hungry" doesn't work for me because Not Hungry Me cannot conceive of a universe in which food is needed so she buys like a cup of pomegranate seeds and some fancy cheese and thinks that'll get us through the week.

Literally my first exposure to Sanders Sides was someone's little chibi animatic of "Accepting Anxiety Parts 1&2." I looked up the original version later. I just thought they were so cute that I wanted to see what they actually looked like.

How did you guys find out about Sanders Sides?

I remember it was from a Lily Singh video. The YouTubers that I really like rap, or something like that? I can’t remember why Thomas stuck out to me, but I had that feeling that if I were to look into his content, I would be dragged down into THE hyperfixation of my life. And lo and behold, I was!!

in much more interesting news, today at work I got to explore an abandoned 500-year-old castle, seized by the state because of the owner's massive tax evasion

honestly yeah, fiber arts is magic. you cast spell of warm gloves, spell of nice hat, spell of stuffed animal.

material component: yarn

wand: single hooked wand or double pointed wands, depending on caster's preference

mechanical component: specific motions repeated in a particular pattern

time component: a while

look seriously the first step in a knitting recipe is "cast on", and then it's a bunch of letters and numbers incomprehensible to anyone not versed in the arcane art. that's a spellbook. yes it's a book of knitting patterns but also. it's a spell book.

This is every crafter ever.

I've got a project that's got several mistakes (it's a cross-stitch table runner, and the most "obvious" mistake is that I'd made the whole thing one stitch too short, so the border's got one imperfection in the center on each side), but nobody else can see the mistakes unless I specifically point them out, even if I can see them pretty much every time.
