a tiny little painting i did last night, i used to do a bunch of these for art shows and cons, as a way to offer affordable little originals, this one is like 1.5 x 2 inches gouache

Im not an animator! but i've been studying and drawing out Amanda Nunes fight sequences for my comic and figured i might as well do it in timeline, its very rough with no timing really but i was having fun :)

some props and magic items from a witches cottage, further exploring an animation line take on my inate style, just pulling back on the hatching a bit and leaning in to stronger silhouettes and outlines.

this is still one of my favorite openers to a story ever, and one of the first Lovecraft stories i ever read, i don't love his writing from a like, narrative standpoint, but the style of the writing and the landscapes described are super inspiring and evocative. I started to imagine what the gate of dreams might look like, and what sort of key might be required, and these are some sketched out ideas of that.
