I think the best advice I ever got to stop myself from getting in my head over issues i was having with a partner/friend was “Are you deciding on ultimatums in your relationship without the other persons knowledge or consent? Are you having conversations in your head where the other party is a projection you supply the responses for? If so; you have done this person a huge disservice in not allowing them to answer on their own terms. You have done so much architecture around this problem in your mind that is impenetrable for anyone who was not there when it was being built.”

feel like one thing that's getting lost in all of this is just how fucking deeply sad we all are. sadness isnt a measurement of anything. but i think people don't even see or respect that we're sad. they barely see or acknowledge palestinians dying en masse, so i don't imagine they care for how many levels of sadness are embedded into everyone that was desperately trying to stop the death of six thousand children before it happened, and then had to watch it happen amidst unbearable levels of dehumanization and justification. most people i know cry several times a day while they try to live their daily lives. its just something that happens now. like i know this is "i/p discourse" and everyone is out to get you but please consider that most of us who care are just watching hundreds of kids die every single day knowing that it is solely because the world considers these children disposable.

i think the funniest and realist thing i’ve realized lately is how troubling idealization can be. every person is just… a person. the very people you want to impress or be apart of are just people. even if they seem wildly intimidating because of the way they look or because of their reputation, every one is just a person. human. as embarrassing, as remorseful and they are going through stages of growth just like you are. we only see what we want to see and then drown ourselves further in our own depression and we don’t have to.
