The house is quiet when Eddie pads down the hall, drawn by the absence of Chris’s usual midnight cough or water request ritual. The door to the guest room (Buck’s room, his brain corrects, because the man has a toothbrush in their bathroom and a designated cereal bowl) is ajar.
Inside, Buck is sprawled diagonally, one arm dangling off the mattress like he’d fought sleep kicking and screaming. Chris is curled into his side, a koala grip on Buck’s shirt, face smushed against his ribs. There’s a dinosaur plushie wedged between them.
This is what family looks like, Eddie thinks, and his chest does something terrifying.

Buddie theory:
Bobby played such a matchmaker in Buck and Eddies relationship that he purposefully didn't tell anyone he was infected, just because he knew if he died it would reunite the team, especially it would give Eddie a reason to come back to LA.
This is just a silly theory I thought of today. I love thinking of Bobby as this ultimate matchmaker for his team, but I also find it interesting thinking about how much Bobby liked seeing his family together even if it meant he wasn't in it.
