These are my 3 finalised mood boards.
For these mood boards, i included things i was inspired by, people i was inspired by, colour pallets, and general 60’s knowledge.
On the left is my first final mood but I have included the Beatles I’ve also included cars and interior design that was inspired by by making my collection. Twiggy is also on there because she was of inspiration for me when it came to her eyelashes and make up I liked the darker make up with the big eyelashes and I also included eyelashes on one of my look.
In the middle is my second final mood board and I’ve included Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and I’ve also included colour palettes to show what colours i used. There’s also views and galleries in the colour palette just to add to the aesthetic.
My third final mood board includes Hayden Williams who I was inspired by while creating my looks. I’ve also included interior design because interior design was something that I used a lot while doing my collection. You can also see more objects that are of the colour palette tan and brown as you can see these colours throughout my collection.

These are my 3 layout designs for my press release.
I had a hard time choosing which one as i feel that they all stand out. The layout is very important to me as I think that work always looks better when the background is eye catching. People are more likely to look at your work when it’s surrounded by things that catch people attention and i feel that my lay outs do this.

This is my finalized logo and business card.
For this logo i went through a lot of experimentation but decided that this was the best outcome as i preferred the more simple yet effective look.

This is my eighth, and final, drafted and developed design.
For this design, it underwent many changes to help it develop in the right direction. At first, the dress was shorts but i felt that it had no meaning even though it was inspired by 60’s interior so i changed it to a dress. Then i moved onto my final development piece using tissue, watercolour, pastels and pro markers. I am not completely happy with piece as i can’t see it’s relevance to interior as it is lost in the colour and tissue. Despite my worries, i like the way i have used the tissue to differentiate the layers of the dress as i didn’t want the skirt to be all the same and I wanted to show different materials and patterns. I reused moon boots as i wanted to add more inspiration from the 60’s so used moon boots from the ‘Space race’ trend.

My seventh set of drafted and developed design.
This is a piece I would like to work further with, as much as i enjoy this, i feel that it could look better if i worked on symmetry. The inspiration for this piece is from the 60’s aesthetic of Op art ( Optical illusion art ). My first draft was a simple mini skirt with plain boots but i felt that something was missing so for my second draft, i made the shoulders bigger to see if this would make the piece more eye catching. I kept the big shoulders for my final developed design.
For my final developed design, i used solely pro markers and fine liners as the lines were thin and i didn’t want to ruin or go over any lines. I feel that now i have my developed design, the final design will be so much better as i can now see what needs to be to make this better. The idea for the design is there, but it isn’t quite completely there yet which i’m hoping will come in my final design. Overall, i like this piece and can see where it’s going.

This is my sixth drafted and developed design.
For this design, i decided to go for a 60’s night lingerie look instead of basing it purely on 60’s interior. I thought that bringing an actual look from the 60’s could be quite effective to making this look more interesting. My first idea was mesh trousers with a matching pattern for the hat, eye rings, top, underwear and glasses however decided against it. I then developed it further but kept a similar shape for the matching set. In the 60’s huge eyelashes were a big thing and I wanted to incorporate that into my collection.
For my final developed piece, i used pro markers and watercolour as they both give me vibrant colours, which is an ongoing theme throughout my work as it links to the 60’s well due to the 60’s being known for its bright and full of life clothing. I used water colour for the skirt to add a bit of diversity from the pens as it was starting to be all pro markers. Over all, i am happy with this piece but feel that something is missing which i am going to look into when doing my final designs.

This is my fifth drafted and developed design.
For this design, i wanted to base it purely on the ‘Space Race’. My first initial draft was a leotard tutu in the shape of a ufo with space suit arms and ballet shoes. However I decided to take this development further and add moon boots as i felt that this worked better with the outfit.
For my final development design, i used watercolour, skin tone pencils, newspaper and tissue. While messing around with media’s, i decided to bring newspaper into my work as it’s something i haven’t worked with before. I felt that it worked perfectly and turned exactly how i wanted it. Something i’d like to work on with this piece, is the face. The same with most my developed designs, i would like to work further on my face illustrations to ensure my final designs are up to standard.

This is fourth set of drafted and developed design.
This look didn’t undergo many changes throughout the process. The only change was the minuet detail of the shoes as the original idea was to take the mesh from the sleeves and add it to the ballet shoes to make everything match. I decided on red for this look to give it a sense of boldness and used watercolour to get a deep colour and to make it easier to blend the colours through each other. The red was also inspired by not only the interior of houses in the 60’s but also the fire of a rocket taking off from the trend of ‘Space Race’. For the leg accessories i took the shapes from interior design and created something to go up to leg to add something to the design as i felt it was bland without it. Overall i like the design, but next time i would like to work further on the face and the hair has i feel these are abit messy and could look more professional if i developed it, this is something i will be working on for my final design.

My third set of drafted and developed design.
This look underwent a few changes. My first draft is completed with mesh trousers however i pitched them to a skirt to really show off the leg accessory. The majority of this design is based on 60’s interior as i like the shapes and patterns of this era. I especially enjoy the top as i feel that it really adds to the look and makes it stand out more as i feel this look would be very light and subtle without it. For this design i decided to use pastels and pro markers as i feel that these two media’s compliment each other nicely. Pro markers can be seen everywhere except the top, for the top i wanted to make it stand out more from the outfit to bring ur eyes to its attention but next time i feel that i wouldn’t use pastels on such a small detail of a look as i found it ended up looking quite messy which was not my preferred way forward for this look.

My second set of drafted and developed design.
For this design, it stayed the same throughout, with a few changed minor details each time just to neaten the illustration itself. For this piece i used pro-markers, watercolour, and pencils for the skin tone. I found that the watercolour created a different kind of look which is something i would like to continue when i create my final design. I used the pro markers so i could blend the leg pieces nicely and ensure i get a precise blend. When i create my final design, i am looking to change up the top part of my design as this is the main problem area for me and don’t feel happy with this part. Overall, i am happy with this development.

My first set of drafted and developed design.
To create this developed design, i went through a two draft design process to ensure the illustration went to my standard. My first drafts started with a mini skirt, thigh high socks, a turtle neck t- shirt with slip ons. This design was inspired by the 60’s as for the skirt, I took the shape of a UFO to represent the ‘Space Race’ of the 60’s. The other areas were based off an outfit young women would wear. I then decided to take it further and change it up to represent the 60’s even further. I added a larger skirt and drew circles for the top to represent the interior of the 60’s, by doing this, I took it further into some thigh high boots.
For my developed design, I used skin toned pencils for the skin and pro markers for the outfit as i feel i get the most definition when i use them. I also used tissue paper for the skirt to add more definition. Overall, i am satisfied with this piece as it came out how i wanted it to. For my final piece, i am going to work on the face structure as i feel it could be neater and more symmetrical.

This is my final illustration. For this mashup, i used Chic Sketch and Inslee Faris. I feel that these two artists mixed well together. Here i decided to use pro-markers over watercolor as i knew i would be able to get better skin colors using the markers. I am particularly in love with the face structure of this illustration and have decided to develop it for future references. This illustration was more back in my comfort zone but decided I could add to the messy theme of my illustrations by using the fine liner quickly to create an 'imperfect' outline. Overall, this piece came together nicely and i will definitely be taking it further.

For my third face illustration, i ditched to pencil sketch and decided to go wherever my hand took me. For the suit, i used pastels as i haven't really used them before and felt they would be a good alternative from the pro-markers for this particular illustration. I really enjoyed using the pastels as i was able to be free with them and surprisingly i feel that i would use them again. Then I used a marker pen and a fine liner to create the head, then finished it with a cutout of the rolling stones tongue. This piece really excites me and i feel that it is quite eye-catching in my sketchbook as it stands out from other illustrations.

This is my second body illustration inspired by Hannie Lee and Joeseth Larkowskey. For this piece i decided to use the pro markers so i could get a block colour for dimension on the page. I also went in with a fine liner and a white pen to add more subtle details that worked so effectively. For the face, i worked further with skin toned pencils as i enjoy the way they look on my drawings. The pencils allow me to build up colour to exactly the colour i want which ensures my shading is precise. This inspired piece is one of my favorites as its something i haven't done before, the simplicity is so refreshing from the typical illustrations i create and i quite enjoyed taking the fine liner and make it 'messy but good' which again, is something out of my comfort zone. Overall, i am happy with this piece.
