That scene with Kelsey blew me away. I’ve never been a big fan of her, always found her pretty annoying and ignorant, but she was so eloquent and so mature in that moment. I felt everything she was saying, and the way she talked of her up and downs with Daniel spoke to me. To see things so clearly from her perspective was beautiful and painful, but she said it so well.

Some of the Facebook comments are so ugly. “It’s all Grace’s fault, she should’ve never doubted Daniel.” So clearly 17 year old girls are just never allowed to have moments of insecurity, they’re just supposed to be perfect and put together all the time. And if they’re not then honestly they’re asking for it. It’s all Grace’s fault, you’re absolutely right.

This type of thinking is what makes women scared to speak up about sexual assault. It’s gross and shouldn’t still be so common in 2019.

The only downside about watching Skam Austin is it’s on Facebook and you have to deal with seeing all the internalized misogyny and people blaming Grace for what happened :))))))
