🌈HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!🌈 While we have so much to celebrate, we also have a great distance to go before everyone in this country is truly treated equally. In excellent recent news, the House has passed the Equality Act, which would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in their places of work, homes, schools, and other public accommodations. The next step is that the bill will go before the Senate. I’ve decided to kick off Pride Month by writing a letter to one of my senators to explain how strongly I feel that the Equality Act should be passed. I urge you to write to your senators too. I’ll be looking for your letters by searching the hashtag #lettertomysenator.

While there’s no information yet as to when the Equality Act will go before the Senate for a vote, we do know this: Politicians need votes to stay in office. Votes come from the people. Pressure from massive amounts of people is a major way to push politicians towards positive change. That’s why I’ve created a petition at change.org to urge the Senate to support the Equality Act.

Our country’s lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic. The fact that, legally, some people are completely at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable.

Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

When there's a @taylorswift @taylornation announcement in 11 days and I graduate from my dream nursing school in 32 days. Thank you for giving me the courage to finally get hearing aids and to chase my dream of being a nurse despite priple who told me I couldn't because I'm hard of hearing. I love you so much!

I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I started this journery at my dream nursing school. It was the hardest thing I’ve done, there’s a lot of obstacles and modifications I have to face because I’m hard of heraing. There were also so many people who told me I could never be a nurse because of my hearing including an instructor who told me I could never be a nurse because of it. I can’t believe graduation is next month. So many people have helped me through this journey in addition to my family and BFF some amazing people really helped me especially @taylorswift so I decorated my grad cap to honor yoy. So thank you @taylorswift for teaching me how to be Fearless and for giving me the courage to keep going when I didn’t think I could. You have been my constant since I was 11 and were sometimes my only friend. Thank you for making me believe in myself. I love you so much. @taylornation

@taylorswift @taylornation. Taylor this is the video I told you about. Your voice was the first thing I ever heard clearly after finally getting hearing aids since needing them.since I was 10. I love you Tay. I can't thank you enough for giving me the courage to finally get them.

@taylorswift I finally got hearing aids, and the first thing I did was listen to you! I’ve needed since i was 10 but wouldn’t get because I was severely bullied and didn’t want to give people more of a reason to treat me more like a freak. Your voice is even more beautiful than I thought! I didn’t even know that was possible! You’ve been my hero since i was 11, and I wouldn’t be here without you. You gave me the courage to finally get hearing aids even though i fear people will bully me again You also gave me the courage to pursue my dream of being a pediatric nurse to help kids like Ronan even though I thought it was impossible because of my hearing impairment because of you, and with the help of my hearing aids and a specialized stethoscope I am now in my 3rd year at my dream Nursing school!  R Row 7, Seats 10,11)  and maybe I’ll even get to thank you in person even though I doubt it. Since it's Thanksgiving and the end of 2018 is coming up I always reflect on my favorite moments & favorite people and how much they meant to me. Words can't explain how much "You pull me in and I'm a little more brave." 💜💜 The one constant has always been @taylorswift Thank you for showing me what #Fearless means: staying when I didn't think I could handle it anymore, pursuing my dream of being a nurse despite all the people who told me I couldn't because I'm hearing impaired and accepting myself and telling those I love that I'm LGBT. Thank you for everything Taylor words can't express how much I love you. I will never ever forget how you were one of the main people who gave me the courage to get my hearing aids and the first thing I ever heard claealy when I put them on was you (Clean was the first thing I ever heard clearly) It was honestly one of the best days of my life. And then this summer was the first time I ever heard you clearly live and I don't know if I had ever smiled or cried that much before. I was not expecting that about 26 days later I would be invited to a secret party you put on and would suprise us with an acoustic concert and a meet and greet.

It was so worth the 12 year wait amd I can't explain how much it meant to me that you were so excited about how I finally got hearimg aids and that you were the first thing I heard clearly. You were also so sweet when I told you you saved my life and asked you to write out Fearless for my tattoo because that is what you taight me above all else. I was terrified of getting hearing aids and applying to my dream nursing school becuase of being hard of hearing but you have and always will make me Fearless and here I am in my semior year of my RN program. I love you to the mikn and back. Thank you for everything.😍😍 @taylornation
