dug up some old art of mine through my tags and I'm looking at it and I feel genuinely proud and happy...!

I was looking at old stuff I've drawn over all sorts of media types and I look at it and like it a lot and I'm really proud of the stuff I was doing then which lead to me revaluating the stuff I've done recently and I'm honestly just really proud and happy with all of it.

that's the most surprising part honestly, me really enjoying everything I've created. but I do, and it makes me feel more motivated to keep doing things and trying. I don't do traditional art well, but I do art my own way exceptionally. I can't draw things realistically and I don't really care to for the most part. I let the idea that I had to know how to do everything well keep me from enjoying the things I did do in my own style.

which, honestly, is the craziest part! I have a STYLE! I have an art style that is recognizably my own! that's so wild to me! but the more I go back and look at the things I've drawn and created the more I see it and appreciate it myself!

sure, I can't draw anything reliably besides my own stuff, but who cares! I don't have any training and I cultivated my own essence of art all by myself just through my love for doodling in my downtime. I did that! I made these things and people recognize the things I draw as MINE because of the layers of myself that leak into the doodles.

long story short, my doodles are good and they reflect who I am through their style, and I've finally gotten to a point where I can see my own art- even older pieces- and feel so happy and proud that I created something, even if it's just for me to enjoy.
