I'm laughing at badass bush, and honestly, that's the spirit for a role like that, or any, if we're honest! I think as long as your kids know they're loved, and I have no doubts that you remind them every day, that's what matters most. It's always great you have a support system yourself, because yeah, I couldn't imagine raising children by myself, so I have to give you all the credit for that. That's a creative way of making someone a ghost, just dump flour on them! I rather like her mind too, and she must be a lot of fun coming up with costumes for Halloween. Not the sad eyes! I'd be getting the ape arms then, because no way I could resist the sad eyes in any form. Are you getting your kids started on any instruments, especially when you're like me and grew up playing them? Same with me, I feel like I'd have been into more nonsense if not for both laying instruments and acting, so good on my parents for keeping me busy, too. I don't know, I bet a lot of people find you attractive, more so than you think! And exactly, my boyfriend has good taste, so I suppose I'll have to trust him on it. You have to balance out your own time with the time you spend with your kids, so I'm glad you have friends who will help you out when you need it. Well, my mom worries about the neighbors despite that we live in sort of a crazy state in the first place. Let's face it, Florida's the butt of a lot of jokes, so I don't think my running around with ape arms would make the news as much as some other things. Thankfully I've wrapped up filming and have been traveling around with Joseph since he's had so much press. But Calgary was a lot of fun, and I can't complain about the time there! Canada in general is a beautiful place, isn't it? Metallica is an amazing bond, and you should definitely see them in concert if you haven't already! It's certainly one of our fun early memories. I'll bet your kids had an amazing time dressing up in Salem, plus you can't go wrong with cute dinosaur costumes either! And we had a great time, thankfully! you're right about that -- because sometimes we need to be checked, right? i don't blame you for wanting to take any role to work with andy, and i think you'd make a very good tree! plus, i like the way you think, and the ents in lord of the rings were so badass too. hopefully, if i'm a bush, i'm a badass bush. i'll admit that it was hard to hear, but i knew that no matter what i was going to do what was right by my kids, even if that meant they'd be stuck with me and me only. which, i think they enjoy being stuck with me -- and i love them more than anything in the world, and that makes everything right in my book. but i'm also very lucky to have a village behind me, i couldn't imagine doing this without my family and friends, they're my rocks. well, the reason my boy was covered in flour was my little girl was trying to make him a ghost. which you got to love her mind, right? i feel like they'd be so in awe of your ape arms, and then they'd be begging you with their sad little eyes to use your ape arms, just warning you. yeah? oh, well, i love music a whole lot, and i can't help but want my kids to love music too, you know? plus, i love the idea of them playing as many instruments as i do, if not more. see, i grew up playing a lot of instruments as well, and i know my mom was forever thankful i spent so much time on piano lessons and then being out on the streets causing trouble. same with my drum lessons too! hey, i'm always one to boost someone's confidence, i know it always makes me happy when someone does that for me! plus, i can understand what you're saying because i don't think i'm all that traditionally attractive either. and hey, if your boyfriend thinks that you are, that's what matters most, right? oh exactly, i'm so thankful for my friends that have kids -- because they understand the need for adult time sometimes, especially when you spend most of your days doing kid things. that very much counts as something, and i think it's just natural for moms to be horrified what the neighbors are going to think, right? oh that's awesome, dude! i love true crime stuff, so i'll be looking forward to when that comes out. and i hope you're still having fun in calgary if you're there. i got to film in canada a couple of times myself, and i really loved it there. don't mind me being jealous that you got to see metallica, i'm a huge fan of their work! plus, it's sweet that you went with your now boyfriend, and i would say the concert went amazing if he became your boyfriend after it! the kids had so much fun on the salem trip, they were all about the witches! and they did get to dress up, we found the cutest dinosaur costumes, and they were such a hit. hopefully, you ended up having a good time while you were in salem? and i hope you end up having a good holiday as well, dude. do you have any plans for it? || @teaguehq

Congratulations on wrapping the role, firstly! That sounds like it'll be an incredible film to see on the big screen. Are you excited about it?! I don't think it ever sounds fun to be on a restricted diet, and I've never really had to do anything drastic for my appearance in the name of acting, myself. I think the most physical thing I've done is going to those gyms with obstacle courses and rock climbing walls to get in shape for pretending to be an ape, so I wouldn't show up to set unprepared. But even that wasn't really focused on what I looked like or a special diet or anything like that, even if it's probably a natural thing that the better you eat, the better you feel when you're doing regular exercising like that. So if I ever get the chance to play something more intense as far as physique goes, I hope I can come to you for advice! Do you think you're going to keep up with your physique if it doesn't matter on your next role? I'd be a little sad about losing that much muscle mass too given the time it takes, so I understand to some extent and don't think you're weird about that at all. | @galitzinen

i recently had to really change my body for a role -- i had to bulk up a whole lot for masters of the universe since i'll be playing he-man, and if anyone remembers he-man from their childhood, he was built like a god and when I got hired, i was not. so after months of weight training, drinking protein drinks, and being on a strict diet, i got ripped. like, so much so, a lot of people didn't even realize it was me, which was kind of brilliant. but now that project is over and i'm starting something else, and i do not need to be as bulky, and i'll admit the idea of losing all this muscle mass is making me a little sad, because i really worked hard to get to looking like what i do right now. and i'm wondering how hard it'll be to go back to looking like the old me, but i feel like it'll be easier to loose the muscle mass than it was to gain it, right? anyway, has anyone else had to drastically change their bodies for a role? and when you had to go back to normal afterwards, were you sad? because i'm just wondering if i'm weird -- and honestly, it might just be because i'm weird. || @gonehollywoodstarters

I sort of ebb and flow with what I draw most since it's just whatever's on my mind in that moment. Though I'd say right now that I draw my boyfriend a lot since I just finished a bunch of portraits as a gift for him, to celebrate his film. Otherwise, I'd say they're pretty random! I can sort of understand the obsession with it since it's been a fun game the times I've gotten to play! Oh man though, I didn't know your dad was a basketball coach! Did you ever play on basketball teams when you were growing up? Well, you can't say you didn't try to get your family into it, right? Sometimes they just have other interests. And as far as obsessions, you could definitely do worse than pickleball, I say. The team you're part of sounds amazing though, and at least you have a little family there to play! Plus amazing job at coming up with that slogan, too. And I'll definitely look you up to play next time I'm in LA! You know I do think you're a sexy date all the time, and just sexy in general, if I'm honest. I'm excited for the film, so it's easy to draw from it for you, especially when Johnny is so handsome. I'm just happy that I've finished with filming so I can travel around with you for the press, not to mention going to music festivals like Glasto, which was so much fun! I've heard of Bumble, indeed! And that sounds quite fascinating since I have no idea about the story of the founder, so you can count me in as already intrigued! I agree with you that playing real people is a little more stressful for just wanting to do them justice and also be respectful at the same time. But I play Jeff Shapiro who was a journalist who reported on a lot of the Jon-Benet Ramsey case. Of course, and you can certainly see in the final product the work and preparation that went into the film! I hope the sanctuary workers are happy with my visits! Or if they aren't, they're very good actors because I couldn't tell. But no, I think they always appreciate when anyone wants to drop in and help, and of course getting to see Bentley is a nice bonus. It means the world to me that he always seems excited whenever I visit, and it just feels like a really special connection with him. Plus I've introduced him to Joseph as well, and they seem to get along! It's amazing you watched the Planet of the Ape films in order, and it's such an amazing franchise! I know I was quite inspired by it as a young kid. I love that you have kids in your household who love animals too! Is that love of hippos because of Moo Deng? Because I feel like everyone's fallen in love with hippos because of her, myself included! Well, it's at least fun to do ape training, and maybe you can even drag your partner into it with you! So only natural that translates over to you and has people giving you that label. Though the zaddy label is cracking me up, and it doesn’t surprise me that your kids think it’s funny too! i have to ask -- has anyone had anything happen to them that they weren't expecting, like something that truly shocked you to your core? because i'll admit right now the fact that people keep telling me i'm a sex symbol, especially at fifty-three, is very much shocking me to the core. maybe when i was younger and i was on er i could see it -- but now i'm being told that since people have seen me on the pitt they're calling me zaddy, which i don't know what that is and my oldest two kids laugh when i ask them. every time someone brings it up, i blush like a madman, though, which my oldest children find pretty funny as well but they're twenty-two and nineteen, so it's expected for them to behave that way, right? my nine-year-old is sweet about it, thankfully. but yeah, that's my life right now, and i'm still not sure how to take it. my ex-wife sara says i should just embrace it and be glad people think i'm so sexy, but i don't know it just seems so crazy to me! though if you're also labeled a sex symbol, can you tell me how to not blush so much? || @gonehollywoodstarters

I think growing up in Florida has taught me to appreciate both spring and fall a little more than most seasons, since it’s usually the time that the weather isn’t super hot and humid! Although I’m with you on love of the beach since it’s one of my favorite places to be, and nothing quite like just having a relaxing day next to the water! Though I feel that way about a lot of outdoor spaces if I’m honest, since I’m one of those who loves camping and hiking, or just hanging out in the garden for a little while. So it doesn’t sound crazy to me, for what it’s worth! And I’m so with you on cold winters because I swear, I near froze to death my first winter in NYC. I’ve lived in the city long enough to sort of get used to it, but that first winter, pretty sure I wore 20 coats everywhere I went. | @reynaeiza

I can imagine how amazing it was being in Spider-Man, especially if you were a fan of the comics as a kid too! It's just cool being able to do things your kid self would approve of. I'm excited for Dune 3 myself, and it's good news that there will be another! Though I can imagine you being done with sand for a while after filming that and I can't exactly blame you. I was so happy our film got nominated for an Oscar for visual effects, especially since I know Wes and his team put so much into those. So had to feel like a little victory for them! And if we do end up having another film, it'll be fun to get back into the swing of things, literally! I almost feel like the ape greetings are something special for my cast members, so I'm sorry, I have to reserve that for them! I still can't say much about the true crime project aside from that it focuses on JonBenet Ramsey, even though we've finished filming it. I don’t have my own kids to compare, though it sounds like it’s never a dull day when it comes to your kids! Not to mention feeling a little guilt when I definitely went through a rebellious stage and drove my parents a little crazy, too. I hope they’re doing things right balance the driving you crazy, maybe spoiling you a little to make up for everything stressful. As far as good things, I just started a project I’m having fun with so far! The material for it is a little dark, though that thankfully that hasn’t been the vibe on set at all. josephquinn: today is monday, and i figured i'd do a little #mancrushmonday post for my man because i'm in a sappy mood, and i just love him so much. life has been so crazy for me lately with all the promo, with filming, and with telling the world i'm going to be a beatle, and he's been by my side through all of it without a single complaint. i truly don't know what i would do without this man, he's very much my rock, and he's one of the very few people in my life that can make my world calm when everything around me feels so crazy. i can't help but question how i got so lucky for someone like him to love someone like me, but i'm holding onto him for dear life, that's for sure. also, look at how fucking handsome he is. i'm so bloody lucky! || @teaguehq
