What was the hardest thing you went through in life, and how did you get past it?
Loosing my mom and dad and then loosing my brother, nephew and sister in law was really rough. I’m not over it. I never really got over it. It wasn’t fair that both of us had to go through it. It’s been a struggle.

hawaiianhalfwolf:
Opening his arms wide for the German Shepherd Noah barely even registered what his uncle said through the frenzy of tail wagging and nose booping and face licking. “It’s fine” Noah responded before standing back a little, letting the other pups have a go at greeting Juno, their bodies practically wiggling as they all sniffed each other. “ But um I mean if you want we can order take out? I’m not exactly hungry” Noah prattled before realizing that was a complete lie. Because while he had some of the hamburger Reza brough him it had ultimately been abandoned after he left, “I mean I am hungry but I don’t” Noah paused again trying to figure out what to say before realizing he really didn’t have to. Cahill was his uncle after all, the man who had practically raised him for half of his life. They didn’t always need the right words. Just whatever words came to mind. Leaning back onto the counter Noah sighed “I don’t know man its been a weird day for me.”
Putting the bowl of dog food on the ground Noah snatched Caleb up before he could get to it, corralling both he and Kea into their pens with his foot. If they weren’t locked up they’d definitely go to town on Juno’s food. Which was not what anyone wanted. So this was for the best for now. “And yea Mele and dave have both been feed, though you know Mele just looked at it and walked away so I guess she’ll eat when she is hungry.” Noah shrugged coming back to stand next to Cahill. It was weird how sometimes just being in his Uncle’s presence was calming but Noah figured it was mostly the kidney talking.
“You know what i’ll order take out anyway and if you eat it great if you don’t I can stick it in the fridge and eat it for lunch tomorrow no big deal.” Cahill smiled. Typical Mele she probably wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of eating in front of them but she’d probably devour it when Noah wasn’t looking. He could feel Noah getting calmer just with his presence. He knew he’d get hungry and want to eat eventually. “Weird day huh? I mean I get that. I’d be having a pretty weird day if Haku disappeared for like six months and then reappeared.” Haku was always threatening to leave. He had been since day one when his parents moved over to be with the Kalani’s but that was a good few decades ago and Haku wouldn’t dare leave his best friend/alpha.
Cahill went up stairs and grabbed a six pack from his fridge. He’d stopped drinking a while ago. They were really only here in case he had guests over or was hosting the weekly summer pack BBQ. Quickly changing out of his work clothes and in to a fresh set of pj pants and a clean t-shirt Cahill walked back down the stairs. “What do you think I should order? Chinese? Mexican? Indian?” Cahill asked parking himself down on the sofa again. Really it didn’t matter he ate like a bear.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE PEOPLE YOU DON’T LIKE?
“I be really passive aggressively nice and better then them at their thing. Like Debra from the PTA hated seeing me coming with my superior casserole to the PTA meeting and ho boy did she hate it when I became PTA president..”

reedhan:
The Classics | Reed & Cahill
Reed stepped off to the side as soon as he saw Cahill pull out his phone and angle it in a way that told Reed he was going to take a photo. He stood around awkwardly, less and less sure of what to say in response despite the thoughts inside his head but eventually he forced himself to push out some words, albeit not in as smooth a way as he planned and briefly rehearsed. “Yeah, this is the original colour…” Reed pointed a few times, pushed his hands into his pockets before giving up and crossing his arms. Corners of his lips pulling up into a joking and nervous smile, “The guy I bought it from was really proud of this car, all original he said, and all I have to do is keep it that way… But, I figure, it’s only a matter of time before another deer destroys this one too.”
Eyes on Cahill still, Reed watched him go further into his office then come back with a pair of lightly-tinged sunglasses. His reaction to the Barney — and, now, grape soda — purple shocked Reed. He grinned and flashed his amusement because it was true, the car’s original colour was really on the Extra™ side; but still, he was mostly confused now by the delayed reaction. “That’ll be a first,” He decided to go along with it, appreciative of Cahill’s icebreaker comment despite the perplexity, and shrugged, “I named it Barney for obvious reasons. Not many people have given me flack over it- wait, no, I take that back, there is one person but it’s more about the car’s age, I think, than the colour.”
“I don’t know, the colour is kind of endearing and has grown on me…” Reed was starting to talk himself out of the paint job, again reconsidering all of the reasons why he kept pushing off bringing it into a shop in the first place. His focus was on the car. The purple really had grown on him and the idea of covering that up was a dent in his soul. “Black’s nice and the body getting dirty isn’t a huge deal to me, I can handle it but… I think I’m gonna have to think about it some more, apparently I’m not ready like I thought I was a few seconds ago.” Reed heard that often enough about black cars but that was hardly a deterrent to him unlike Daejun, who opted to replace Reed’s car altogether with something newer and modern in age. “I’m a car guy myself but I can appreciate a bike with lots of love thrown into it.”
Attention back to Cahill, Reed’s interest grew, “What kind of bikes? Motorcycles? Motorbikes? Do you have any around that you-” Clearing his throat, “If you have any to show, I’d love to see them.”
“Deer? Yeah we have bother with them too always coming down from the sanctuary and eating my flowers. one of the reasons why we had to put the fence up.” Cahill sighed and for a brief moment mourning the loss of his petunias. “Well if you want we can keep the Grape soda colour we could give it a touch up if you’d like, or maybe make it a deeper purple, you know not so in your face.” Cahill thought scratching his chin. He took his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “I can show you what we have anyway and if nothing takes your fancy we can order in the right purple for you.”
“Yeah I do a bit of everything really. At the minute there’s a group of Vintage bike guys in Derry that’s asked me to fix up a few vintage ones for them.” Cahill Informed Reed, waving him in to the back of the work shop. He pointed a few empty Honda 50 bodies. “We got a few Honda 50′s over there I’m actually nearly building these from scratch there was a lot of battery corrosion that destroyed the insides.” Cahill always had a soft spot for Honda 50′s, his mother had had one when the had lived in Hawaii and it had more than likely kick started his obsession when he was a child.
“Then I’m just doing maintenance on the Honda Bentely over there.” Cahill pointed to a bike who’s paint had been stripped waiting for a new lick of colour. “Really though I mainly custom build for people out of town, that’s our specialty. Then anything else is just to keep us busy, cars, recovery etcerta. That’s mainly people in town. Non locals normally show up looking for bike work done. That’s why we’re so far out of town.”
“You looking for a bike yourself? Cahill asked curiously. Once he was started on Bikes there was no going back. Reed had unleashed the monster.

Oh, so I heard. That’s actually the second rec I’ve gotten about that place. I’ll definitely have to check it out because cheap and students are right up my alley. did that sound creepy Uh, because I am sorta broke. And a student.
Yeah it’s probably your best bet when it comes to cheap affordable housing. The only reason I moved out was because I inherited my parents house. Though if you cant get a place to rent there for what ever reason best to stay away from the center of the town and around the coast the prices there are mad.

If anyone has advice on apartment searching, I’d be happy to hear it.
Uh it’s been a while since I rented around here. But White Pine Ridge is generally really cheap it’s mostly students there. Willow’s Hedge is okay if you don’t mind living in Silent Hill.

hawaiianhalfwolf:
Hands poised over Caleb’s slow feeder Noah hummed slightly to himself, as he distributed the meat. He was, on edge to say the least with all this Reza stuff, but the thought of having Juno home to cuddle for a bit was making it bearable. Well that and the small nose poking at his leg. “You just got fed you silly goose” Noah chided looking down at Caleb’s beady eyes, Kea’s brown ones right beside them. She was too proud to beg, but deep down inside Noah knew Haukea was in the same boat as Caleb, she was a bottomless pit of a lab after all. “This is for your cousin Juno. Not you two gluttons” Noah smiled out reaching out a a hand to pat both of them. And it was nice really how animals just made things start to dissipate, the anxiousness Noah was feeling about, well talking to his Uncle about Reza all but quelled.
And it wasn’t like talking to Cahill was a bad thing. No Noah loved most of his talks with his Uncle. But this time. This time was different. This time was nerve racking because underneath it all there was the underlying crux of the matter. He was angry because he had really liked Reza. Or still did he guessed, Noah didn’t exactly know how to get that all right in his head now that Mr. Cullen himself was back in his life.
Sighing slightly, Noah’ caught out of the corner of his eye Kea and Caleb both tense and cock their heads signaling their giant alpha and Juno were here. “Alrighty its show time boys and girls” Noah singsonged as he lead the way to the living room patiently waiting for the garage door to open.
@technicallyawolf
Cahill locked the door to the pick up truck. Not his favorite mode of transport but considering that he was bringing Juno back with him he could hardly put her on the back of his motorcycle. He hummed a tune that he had heard on the radio as he opened the front door Juno nervously following behind him. She’d been like this all day and Cahill suspected that a bear or some kind of big animal from the nature preserve had wandered down to the shop and gave her a scare. “Hey I’m back.” Cahill called from the hall tugging off his boots at the door. “Sorry I’m a bit late I had to take it slow with Juno you know how she gets motion sickness in the car.”
Shooing Juno inside the kitchen it wasn’t long until she perked up seeing Noah, her second favorite person after the Mailman. She jumped up to lick his face, Cahilll couldn’t help but laugh. “Someone’s happy to see you! Do you want me to order some take out? Chinese food would go well with our beer.”
“Juno leave Noah be, go eat dinner.” Cahill said sternly to her. It was a struggle being stern with her especailly since he was quite attached to all his animals. “Have you fed Mele and Dave yet?”
