An observed and obviously incomplete grammar of the Gerudo language from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
EDIT: Fixed some typos and added my name!

Do you happen to have a guide on here on how to speak and write Hylian?
Yes. You can find them all in this tag. The written language is the one provided in the game, which you can see right here. If there’s anything else you need help with, feel free to let me know!

When all was chaos, the goddesses descended and gave order and life to the world.
They granted power equally to all who dwelt in the light, and then returned to the heavens.
The lands where the goddesses descended came to be known as the Sacred Realm.
For ages, the people lived at ease, content in mind and body…
But soon, word of the Sacred Realm spread through Hyrule, and a great battle ensued…

YO I JUST FOUND THIS BLOG AND IT'S SO COOL!! There's two other conlangs but they both seem abandoned (and one's a little too esperanto-ish for my taste). I've been working on this song project, and I'm starting to think that mmaaayyyybbe i'll write the lyrics in hylian?
oh, wow, thank you! i’ve also been in active for a bit, but that’s certainly not for lack of interest. if you ever want any help with translating something or with proofreading, just let me know and i’d be happy to help!

My name is Lanayru.
Your efforts have at last restored each of us Light Spirits in Hyrule.
O hero chosen by the gods...
The dark power that you seek...
It waits in a temple set in the bed of Lake Hylia.
...But before seeking it, you must now bear witness to something... and never forget it.
You must know that it was the will of the goddesses that we lock away the forbidden power...

How would someone say "I love you" in Hylian?
Simply translated, it would be Ten deorost, I love you. But more poetic ways of saying it are graennemyn baenest, you have my heart; min waekkanist, you bless me; a nitthenne ten aefternost , I follow you to the precipice; branamynes aerendeln est, you are the light of my soul.

The wolves were our allies. In the old days, before Andraste, before the Maker, we knew this to be so. But man grew tired of the chase, the hunt, the truth of fang and steel and blood. Man put seeds in the ground, tended cattle and chickens, and built fences to keep the wolves away. Man bred hounds that would heel and sit and obey, and told himself that the hounds were just as good.
Now the darkspawn come again. They break our fences, kill our cattle and chickens, burn our crops. Our dogs cower with tails between their legs, or if they fight, they fall to the poison of darkspawn blood. We are dying, and I am shamed by my cowardice.
The ways of man and hound are not enough. I come to you, spirits of the old forest, I who built fences, I who came with fire and steel to drive you away. I come to you because fear has made my arms weak. I ask you for unforgiving rage to make them strong again.
Kill the hound in my heart, and grow strong from the meat on its bones. In its place, give me the wolf.
-- Words caught in the bloody ripples of ancient water in the Fade, somehow remembered. (A Plea from a Warrior to the Spirits)

Arthur prodded the mattress nervously and then sat on it himself: in fact he had very little to be nervous about, because all mattresses grown in the swamps of Sqornshellous Zeta are very thoroughly killed and dried before being put to service. Very few have ever come to life again.

“If I asked you where the hell we were,” said Arthur weakly, “would I regret it?” Ford stood up. “We’re safe,” he said. “Oh good,” said Arthur. “We’re in a small galley cabin,” said Ford, “in one of the spaceships of the Vogon Constructor Fleet.” “Ah,” said Arthur, “this is obviously some strange usage of the word safe that I wasn’t previously aware of.”

There are some words that are taboo to speak in High Hylian, not because they’re swears, but because it’s sacrilegious. Much like some real religions do not allow the naming of some deities or prophets, High Hylian does not permit the utterance of the ancient titles of the goddesses’ scions. This was not always the case – prior to Ocarina of Time, these words were the official titles by which those chosen by the gods were called. After time, however, they faded out of use, eventually likening themselves to blasphemy.
Three words in particular are at the epitome of sacrilege. The first is maemidren, meaning everlasting. The second is daedunau, or godhead. The last is vedassan, revenant. These each refer to a member of the Triforce Trifecta.
There are other such unspeakables, but I'll cover them in a different post.
Some people don't say these words because of tradition. Others, because the believe they will be cursed. The reason why most people don't speak them, however, is because they believe that the words themselves will draw the scions back into being. And whenever the chosen appear, Hyrule falls to shadow.
Are they summoned by Hyrule's peril, or does the kingdom fall to darkness because of their mere presence? There are none who know, but all fear.

whoops, sorry i haven’t made any posts recently, my dudes! i know it’s lexember, but it’s also ib diploma hell suffering time, and unfortunately that takes priority right now. but my drafts are full to bursting with quotes from various sources to translate, and i’ve got a bunch of new words to add to both my lexicons. honestly, my cup runneth over. so there’ll be plenty of new content once i have time! that’ll probably closer to christmas and unfortunately to the end of lexember. but i hope nevertheless that y’all are having a great time!
