As much as I adore their love scene, there's something so deeply special about this kiss. The way one short kiss isn't enough for him, so he goes back in for a second, longer, more passionate one. It's the way she smiles into it, overjoyed that it's finally happening. It's the way his hand is in her hair and how he chases her lips, not wanting it to end. This is the first time they're seeing each other in years, having had very little contact, and neither of them feel like it's too soon or too much. There's no hesitation. They literally pour their entire hearts, souls and bodies into this kiss – into a moment they've both been waiting for. It's not just an 'I've missed you' kiss, but them showing every ounce of love they have for each other.

It’s interesting, I don’t really picture Mulder and Scully yearning for each other the way I do with most other ships. They don’t really need to yearn, right? They get to see each other every day. They’re already the center of each other’s worlds, and I think on some level, they’re aware of their importance to the other person. So I don’t really think of them as yearning. Instead I think they’re just more excited to go to work than they used to be. They miss each other when they go home for the night. They find themselves collecting anecdotes to tell each other; when they see something funny or beautiful or fascinating, they’re the first person the other wants to tell. Maybe that is yearning, I don’t know. But yearning hurts, and I don’t think the way they love each other hurts. I think loving each other is the easiest part of their lives.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but be nice to fanfic authors. Reblog their stuff. Tell them you liked it. How you felt when reading. What school assignment you didn’t finish because of how captivating their story was. Don’t just scream to your friends about it. But tell them.

So many wonderfully talented people out there don’t get the praise they need. If their work brought you joy, make their day better by telling them it did.

I know it's tough to be patient when it's been so many years waiting on resolution, but a quote like this should be confirmation that everything is planned out. Unlike how Tiva was handled on the mothership, the goal is not to indefinitely delay satisfaction in their romance, but rather to do their characters' 20 year journey justice in delivering them to the best versions of themselves and their relationship.
