Hand & Gesture Language
Hands clenched into fists — Anger, restraint, or holding back something violent or vulnerable. Fingers tapping rhythmically — Impatience, nerves, or a personal ritual. Picking at a scab/cut/nail — Anxious, distracted, or self-soothing. Hands behind back — Formal, guarded, or trying to appear in control. Palms up / open hands — Surrender, honesty, or pleading. Hands gripping something tightly — Trying to stay grounded or keep it together. Rubbing temples — Overwhelmed, stressed, or trying to think clearly. Knuckles white from pressure — Rage, fear, or intense focus. Cracking knuckles — Habitual tension, or a signal that something’s about to go down. Thumbs hooked into pockets/belt loops — Relaxed, cocky, or casual authority. Touching their mouth while thinking — Deep in thought, holding something back. Hands fluttering mid-gesture — Nervous energy, overexplaining, or searching for words. Hands in fists in pockets — Rage or fear hidden under fake chill. Wrists limp at their sides — Defeated, exhausted, or too numb to react. Shaking out their fingers — Releasing adrenaline, fear, or something they don’t want to carry anymore.

Torturing your ocs ask game :)
(Delightful, I know. But we all do it sometimes)
1. Which of your ocs do you most often imagine sick? In what ways?
2. Which of them do you most imagine injured in other ways?
3. Who do you put through the most emotional turmoil?
4. Which oc has been tortured? Through what means?
5. Which of them has the worst luck?
6. Who goes through the most relationship conflicts? (applies to any relationships)
7. Who do you put most into stressful situations or other drama?
8. Who ends up in survival situations the most? How do they fair in them?
9. Has any of them had to be saved from the brink of death? Were there any consequences after?
10. Has any of them had to be revived / brought back to life? How did this affect them?
11. Who is afraid the most? How does this effect them?
12. What kind of health repercussions has your oc experienced through intense stress? How do they manage them?
13. Who cries the most often? What are the usual causes?
14. How does your oc cope?
15. To cap off what kind of hurt/comfort scenarios do you put your oc in?
This can be about canon story events or simply rotating scenarios for fun!

do fic readers know that their comments actually influence the course of the story sometimes? i don't mean in a "you need to write it this way because i say so 😡" type of comment, i mean when people are asking questions or really engaging with the plot and the themes in the comments they sometimes bring up things that i didn't even think of, or dig into parts of the story that i've overlooked, or get really interested/fixated on something i was going to just kind of glance over--and it has me going 'oh wait that's actually really interesting, that's a good point' and fully adding or tweaking or changing things about the story going forward. i'm literally adding an entire additional chapter to something right now because someone's comment had me like "oh i didn't dig into that as much as i could have." you have impact!

Cordelia is an INTJ-T in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and a lawful neutral in moral alignment. Cordelia’s strengths are logical thinking, integrity, and emotional intelligence. Cordelia is weak in fast thinking, work in stressful situations, and group effort.
Additional information and backstory: Cordelia was born into the cult and promptly taught morals and the rules of the cult, Cordelia has always found that some of the rules she was expected to obey were irrational and overall nonsensical to her. Cordelia follows the majority of Caspian’s rules but writes her own in other departments. She is aware of some of the moral issues within the cult which does cause her slight inner turmoil but after a good deal of conversations with Teo she eventually dissents, she’s stuck in the pillory for 3 weeks as her disbelief and questioning nature bubbles up and revolts against her. Cordelia regains her faith after a long, tiring reindoctrination process but her ability to converse has been stunted. She now sees Teo as a threat.

I did a bit of OC work in personal finance today, enjoy reading about my baby, Juniper <3
Juniper is a lawful good in moral alignment and an ENFP in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Her strongest suites are communication & bonding, emotional awareness, and ability to listen. Her weakest spots are her naivety, loss of her OWN thinking and moral blank spots. Juniper is a very emotionally charged character, a majority of her decision making is altered due to this and also her yearning to obey her leader without issue. Juniper was indoctrinated after being saved by Caspian when she was roaming the woods looking for further resources, Caspian convinced Juniper that her past leader was neglectful and careless, therefore manipulating her to join their own cult.
Caspian is my perception of The Lamb, hehe

100 Dialogue Tags You Can Use Instead of “Said”
For the writers struggling to rid themselves of the classic ‘said’. Some are repeated in different categories since they fit multiple ones (but those are counted once so it adds up to 100 new words).
1. Neutral Tags
Straightforward and unobtrusive dialogue tags:
Added, Replied, Stated, Remarked, Responded, Observed, Acknowledged, Commented, Noted, Voiced, Expressed, Shared, Answered, Mentioned, Declared.
2. Questioning Tags
Curious, interrogative dialogue tags:
Asked, Queried, Wondered, Probed, Inquired, Requested, Pondered, Demanded, Challenged, Interjected, Investigated, Countered, Snapped, Pleaded, Insisted.
3. Emotive Tags
Emotional dialogue tags:
Exclaimed, Shouted, Sobbed, Whispered, Cried, Hissed, Gasped, Laughed, Screamed, Stammered, Wailed, Murmured, Snarled, Choked, Barked.
4. Descriptive Tags
Insightful, tonal dialogue tags:
Muttered, Mumbled, Yelled, Uttered, Roared, Bellowed, Drawled, Spoke, Shrieked, Boomed, Snapped, Groaned, Rasped, Purred, Croaked.
5. Action-Oriented Tags
Movement-based dialogue tags:
Announced, Admitted, Interrupted, Joked, Suggested, Offered, Explained, Repeated, Advised, Warned, Agreed, Confirmed, Ordered, Reassured, Stated.
6. Conflict Tags
Argumentative, defiant dialogue tags:
Argued, Snapped, Retorted, Rebuked, Disputed, Objected, Contested, Barked, Protested, Countered, Growled, Scoffed, Sneered, Challenged, Huffed.
7. Agreement Tags
Understanding, compliant dialogue tags:
Agreed, Assented, Nodded, Confirmed, Replied, Conceded, Acknowledged, Accepted, Affirmed, Yielded, Supported, Echoed, Consented, Promised, Concurred.
8. Disagreement Tags
Resistant, defiant dialogue tags:
Denied, Disagreed, Refused, Argued, Contradicted, Insisted, Protested, Objected, Rejected, Declined, Countered, Challenged, Snubbed, Dismissed, Rebuked.
9. Confused Tags
Hesitant, uncertain dialogue tags:
Stammered, Hesitated, Fumbled, Babbled, Mumbled, Faltered, Stumbled, Wondered, Pondered, Stuttered, Blurted, Doubted, Confessed, Vacillated.
10. Surprise Tags
Shock-inducing dialogue tags:
Gasped, Stunned, Exclaimed, Blurted, Wondered, Staggered, Marvelled, Breathed, Recoiled, Jumped, Yelped, Shrieked, Stammered.
Note: everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No I am NOT telling people to abandon said and use these. Yes I understand that said is often good enough, but sometimes you WANT to draw attention to how the character is speaking. If you think adding an action/movement to your dialogue is 'good enough' hate to break it to you but that ruins immersion much more than a casual 'mumbled'. And for the last time: this is just a resource list, CALM DOWN. Hope that covers all the annoyingly redundant replies :)
