In the 4th book, The Contendings; T'shuvah, (WIP) Batresh, her DNA modified again, finally realizes why the missions are essential to human survival. Finally, during her 3rd mission, on tour at Krakow, Poland, she begins to understand why intervening in human affairs is so important.

Review: [The third book] is my favorite book in the series for many reasons. One reason is deeply personal. My family moved to the St. Louis area in 1992 and of all places, this area feels like home to me. So I am filled with childish glee whenever I read something with a St. Louis setting. It's fun and personal when you recognize the place names in which the author describes.

Review: ...if you are into hard sci-fi, this will definitely be an interesting audiobook for you.
I have to admit that the author has done a great job in weaving a complicated plot taking you from one time to another, basically rocking you between the future and the past, and then back again. Different characters are presented in this audiobook which makes it quite complex.
Narration was quite good, moving between different tones and different characters in a professional way.

T.A. McLaughlin, author of the science fiction series, The Love of the Tayamni, has revealed that she was Doug Stevens from Doug Stevens & The Outband, the popular LGBTQIA Country band from the 1990s.
As Doug Stevens, Ms. McLaughlin made four albums and garnered national press, appearing on CNN, NBC Evening News, Billboard Magazine, and The New Yorker, where she was the subject of a Talk of the Town article.
