She gave her a friend a soft smile and nodded. Wanting to come off as if she understood what she was being told. Which she did. And it wasn't necessarily that she needed to find love now. It was just more the fact that she felt like she had to get out there and try, if she ever wanted it to happen one day. It probably didn't help that she was so picky. Unfortunately for her, and anyone who ever tried to get passed the first date, books had ruined her. "I know." She speaks softly, "I'll meet a man who gives 'main male character written by a female author' vibes someday." Or maybe she was simply looking in the wrong place? At the wrong team? She wasn't exactly brave enough yet to open that door fully. "You think it makes me unwell if I love fictional men more than I'll probably ever love real men?"
Tessa accepted the spot Charlotte had cleared for her. Sitting, she turns her head towards her, a devious smirk now on her features. "I mean, they're coming along. But I can't promise you're going to love them." If there was one thing Tessa liked to do, it was keep her readers on their toes. It often ended up with an email or two, telling her off, but in the end, she always believed it was worth it. "Yes!" Tessa nods, "Hell, if you got anything stronger on hand, you can bring that, too." She added, half joke, half serious. She doubted anything thing upon a wine buzz would be beneficial. "Did you? Well, I fear you just sealed you fate, Char. I'm officially never leaving your shed. A bed can fit in there, right? If not, I'll make a sleeping bag work."
Soft, little welcoming barks followed Tessa as she came in, the golden retriever fully aware of this visitor and mainly now seeking attention. "Honey, leave her alone, little love." Charlotte cooed as she called the dog to her side to allow her friend to come in. Shoulders fell as she began to put the pieces together; between knowing that her friend had mentioned the possibility of a date earlier in the week, to the look she had sported herself after many a failed setup by her parents, the picture was quite clear. Placing her hands on her forearms, the blonde gave her a quick, motherly hug before pulling back slightly. "It will happen when it's going to happen, Tessa. But I'm sorry he turned out to be such an idiot." she said with an apologetic little smile.
Moving her pile of blankets out of the way, Charlotte invited the other to come sit with her. The mention of her writing made her ears prick up a bit. Everyone who knew her knew the eldest Harrington was a bibliophile; books made up half of the decorations of the house. "Oh, please tell me the next few chapters are somewhere close to finished!" she playfully pleaded like a child asking a parent for a new toy. "You left me on a cliffhanger, which was just not nice." Then the mention of her other love came, and she couldn't have smiled brighter. "...Okay, I can wait on the manuscript pages. I'll grab the wine, and then we can go out back to the shed? I just installed my second wheel in there." It was one of the perks of the job she had taken while abandoning a more artistic vocation; it made saving up for art supplies take a lot less time.

Tessa didn't exactly look first and speak second. She just sat down and prayed that whoever was across from her would simply humor her. A wave of relief washes through her when the familiar face sat in full recognition. A genuine smile crosses her features, "And it's really good to see you." She tosses back, "No, like seriously. So glad it's you on the other side of me right now."
Tessa settles in and leans forward, resting her arms on the table top. "Him?" She asks, giving a quick glance towards the counter, glad to see the guy had yet to spot her. "Bad, bad, -- horrible Bumble date I went on a few weeks ago." She replies honestly, "I kinda ghosted him right afterwards, but he seemed interested in a second date." She shrugs, "I guess I'm still aiming for the coward's way out." In all honestly, she really just needed to stop the online dating, altogether. "Tell me, what have you been up? Anything exciting?" @olivahw
Liv had been putting on a brave face being out in public now the news of her divorce began to circle around the sleepy small town. When she heard a voice she thought it would be someone coming to console her, but when she realized it wasn't, she was certainly relieved. Her head did cock to the side though out of curiosity. "Oh my god, hi, it's so good to see you," the blonde gives the other woman her best smile. A small nod went to the chair beside her, motioning to the other to sit down, this way the brunette's back would be toward the person she was avoiding. "Sit we can catch up." Olivia offered, taking a big sip of he oat milk hazelnut latte. "Who is that?" She leaned in to ask quietly. @tessalcampbell

TO: OPEN
LOCATION: Coffee Corner Cafe
Tessa enters her favorite place on earth. The thing to save her day and awaken her only feet away. But before she can take another step closer to the corner to order her ice latte, the figure of the person standing at the register immediately rings as familiar. Her intuition only becoming more on point when she catches the slightest glimpse of the side of his face. Shit. Turning, her eyes fall upon the empty booth across from someone who was simply minding their business. Sliding in across from them, she smiles wide, "Hi, please pretend that you're happy to see me." She pleads, "I'll owe you. Whatever you want." She glances over her shoulder back at the register, but the second it'd look like their eyes would catch, she whips her head back towards the person across from her, "How's your day? You look good."

TO: @fletch-townson
LOCATION: Aura Apartments | Tessa's apartment.
"Thank GOD!" Tessa groans at the sound of her door bell. There was only one person that could be on the other end and so help her if it wasn't him. Tessa throws open the door, her eyes falling upon Fletcher. Relief watches over her. Just who she wanted. She steps aside and holds her arm out as invitation for him to enter. Shutting the door and moving passed him towards her couch, she plops down and cuts a glare at the man. "You know-- kids are freaking adorable." She states, "Babies? I could eat them, they're so cute. But I think I'm officially convinced that they're packaged in cute so that people don't kill them. Because you're a true monster if you can kill cute." She rambles on, "And I mean -- I got three younger siblings. So, kids? I can handle them." She shifts and rests an elbow on her thigh, "Grant it, my mother had all of us pretty far apart. So, two toddlers? I didn't have practice in the art form, but how hard could it really be?"
She laughs, and shakes her head, "I learn something new today. Simply, don't do that." She turns her head towards the hallway, glancing at the closed door laid both little girls; his and her youngest sister. "Both little devils are finally asleep... and I don't know, Fletch. I might kill you if you wake them up."

TO: @charlotte-harrington
LOCATION: Charlotte's home
"So..." Tessa starts when the door opens, but would immediately trail off. Wetting her lips, she releases a huff, "I might've, kinda, sorta -- okay, no -- I did. I definitely did." She threw her hands out and moved passed her friend into her home without so much as waiting for a invite in. She makes it half way into the home, then turns to face Charlotte again, "I went on that date." She sighs, "And you were right. It was horrible. He was--" She shivers at the brief memory of the date, "--People who talk about finding love on Tinder? They're liars." She states, "These men are --" Pausing once more, she sighs and presses her lips together into a straight line. "I need something chill. I tried writing, nothing came. And then pottery sounded good. Pottery and wine! And I didn't want to do it alone."

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
TW: TEENAGE PREGNANCY, CHEATING
Tessa Lynn Campbell was born on September 2nd, 1997 to a teenage mom. Life would find to be a struggle, as one would expect. But fortunately, Tessa and her mother, Kira, had her parents; who despite being upset that their 14 year old had gotten pregnant, knew that they still needed to be there for both their child and granddaughter.
Tessa would pretty much grow up alongside her mother. Which led to a very close bond between the pair, as well as its own share of problems.
Tessa would grow up with an intense love for reading and writing. She found escape in the written word as well as adventure.
For the first 8 years of Tessa’s life, she’d spent it alongside her grandparents. Watching her mother finish school faster than most, and taking up job after job, to fend for them. Kira would believe she found a winner when she met successful business man, Nathan Caldwell. Their love story would seem fast and hard, but when she fell pregnant with her second child, all the lies would come to the surface.
Nathan was a married man, living a double life, and the last thing he wanted was for that blow up in his face. He’d make a deal with Kira, agreeing to pay financially for their mistake, but she had to keep her mouth shut. Being a single mother, struggling, she found that was the wisest move.
Tessa would be blessed with a little brother by the time she turned 9, that she’d name Salem after the cat in Sabrina The Teenage Witch, as she’d love that show. Her brother would go onto be nicknamed Sammy and would use that the most.
As Tessa got older, she’d go on to do sports, finding that she really enjoyed running and physical activity.
Around the age of 15, Tessa would be given another brother named Elijah. The relationship between this boy’s dad and their mom would lead nowhere as well. Leaving her mother a single mom of 3. And while that would be disheartening for most. Kira seemed to thrive.
Tessa would go on to graduate highschool at the top of her class and head to college, in which she’d also graduate at the top of her class.
When she was around 23, her mother would enter into a new relationship with a guy that everyone finally seemed to approve of. And before they knew it, she was pregnant with her 4th child. Fortunately, this time, things would seem to go a different route for the single mom. She’d give birth to her second daughter, Xalia, while seeming to finally have a partner beside her to help.
Tessa would publish her first book at the age of 24 and it’d blow up rather quickly. Shooting the young girl into stardom and every reader’s path. She’d continue to write, pushing out book regularly. Her fanbase would continue to glow, and before she knew it, she had a loyal follower of readers.
Tessa would find that she enjoyed writing darker tales of romance. She enjoyed the added mystery, crime, horror, and danger, to that of a beautiful love story.
At the beginning of the year, she’d be approached about turning one of her first book series into a movie and she’d excitedly say yes. Currently, they’re in the final casting of the movie and Tessa finds herself experiencing a different type of excitement.
Her mother also announced her engagement to her long time boyfriend last year, with their wedding to be set at the end of this year. Tessa is the maid of honor.
