Hello Umbrella Academy Fandom

In the wake of the recent tragic events (season 4), we're all feeling "what in the everloving fuck was that"

Many are writing fix-it-fics or even rewriting the entirety of season 4. By doing that by ourselves won't work, so here's what I propose: We start a massive rewrite project, when enough people join I'll start a tumblr community where we can share our ideas. When we have enough, we'll streamline them into six fully written scripts, which will be the end goal of the project.

I really believe that we care about this show enough to provide ourselves with a satisfactory ending and final season. Truly, I do, and I hope you do, too.

it’s out of character for diego to not like being a father when he spent like all of season 3 proving to himself he could do it and showing what a good dad he would be and just unconditionally loving stanley and his unborn child. it’s out of character for lila to fall for five when she loves diego more than she’s ever loved anyone in her life, and she’s so devoted and loyal to her husband who she has children with and who has supported her and proved to her that she is a good person and she is worth loving.

it’s out of character for five to fall for his brother’s wife when he has never expressed interest in her in any way and is endlessly loyal to his family no matter what. he wouldn’t break that trust, even if he did develop feelings for lila, which is completely unexpected and out of character for someone who has not really shown any attraction to another human, least of all lila.

Whatever you do don't imagine the Hargreeves siblings after Five disappeared.

Don't imagine Ben sleeping in Five's bed for weeks after he left because it still smells like him

Don't imagine Vanya playing his favourite songs night after night because he'd always come into her room when she did

Don't imagine Klaus hoping he doesn't randomly appear in front of him and that's when the drugs started so that even if he does appear Klaus won't have to see him

Don't imagine Diego researching everything about time travel and pestering Pogo to find any way to get him to go behind Five

Don't imagine Luther sneaking into Reginald's office and trying to find proof that this was all his doing and that Five will return

Don't imagine all the others dragging Allison in front of Five's picture while they cry and she softly whispers

You know what I just realized? Among everything else wrong with this dumpster fire is that it’s the only season to NOT have a group dance sequence. That should have been the first clue about how disappointing this was going to be. Episodes one through three were decent episodes, and the stuff between victor and reggie were were for the most part top tier writing and acting, but for the final stretch it just felt like completely different characters from a completely different show. It felt like they gave up and just didn’t want to be involved anymore and wanted to be done, so they went with the lowest common denominator at every step. It just feels like no one was having fun making the show anymore and wanted to be done with it as fast as possible. It genuinely felt like they carted in a completely different writing staff who didn’t enjoy writing these characters and just wanted to be done with it as soon as possible. I just feel cheated and it feels like no one wanted to be involved anymore so they almost spitefully made the last few episodes as bad as possible on purpose. Was this written during the writers strike? Because it sure as hell feels like it was intentionally written to spite the show runners and get back at them. Considering the abuse allegations against Steve Blackman it seems likely.

how was reginald "i buy orphaned children to raise as soldiers" hargreeves a more likable character this season than five "i stopped two apocalypses to save my family" hargreeves

Listen, I love Allison and she's a good sister, but Diego was the one who was there for Klaus since S1. Diego drove him around. Diego saved him from Hazel and Cha Cha. Diego helped him get sober to get Dave. Six years of Allison giving Klaus her basement doesn't erase the fact that Diego's was there for Klaus for who-knows-how-many years.

Watching scenes from S2. Seeing Diego makes it even more disappointing what they did to his character in S4. Look at his face when he got to hug Ben again. He was allowed to display emotional depth without it being treated as a joke. Now they've made him into a bumbling husband whose heartbreak over his wife's affair is played for laughs.

You know what's the worst?

They ruined so many people's favourite character - Five Hargreeves.

The character that we all loved and cherished would never hurt his brother by s-k-r-e-w ing his wife, would never suggest to abandon his family to play house in an alternate timeline, would never again abandon his family to run away in a magic subway train just because his girlfriend broke up with him to be with her husband.

Five Hargreeves would never choose himself over his family for whom he fought and saved 3 timelines.

They messed up man. They messed up my favourite character so bad 😔
