kuroo smiled to himself; that look on your face was the one that he loved the most. he watched as you clumsily tried to decorate a cake, failing to even squeeze the icing out onto the spongy treat the right way. you giggled at each mistake you made, trying to cover it up by spreading it why a butter knife, still ending up with a lumpy layer of icing.

he loved this side of you; your clumsy and carefree demeanor is exactly what made tetsuro fall for you in the first place. the way your crinkled your nose at a fault, the way your smile quirked upward as you got icing on your hands, the way your raised a brow as you licked it from your thumb. you weren’t perfect, he knew that, but you were perfect for him. you were imperfect, and that’s the only way kuroo wanted you, anyways.

“you gonna help me with this cake or not?” you finally dragged him from his soft admiration of your face. “do i have to? you’re doing a great job!” he teased, both of you knowing that he was just joking due to the messy situation you were in. “shut up and help me out,” you hissed playfully, causing him to rise from where he was seated to join you in the kitchen.

he helped you wipe the icing off of the edges, smiling as he wondered how someone could be so bad at decorating a cake. kuroo dipped a finger in the frosting despite your protests, and dragged it down the tip of your nose.

“you’re so hot,” he sighed with a mischievous grin; you slapped his arm softly, “watch your mouth, tetsuro,” you warned with a sly grin, wiping the icing from your nose. “i’m serious! you’re the most beautiful person i’ve ever seen in my life! i’m gonna marry you one day, y’know?” he whispered the last part barely loud enough for you to hear. “i’d like to see that happen,” you returned, going back to focusing on how badly the cake needed correcting.

“Hide my Boyfriend is Coming!” prank with Hirugami, Hoshiumi, and Gao

Hirugami

it was a standard night

your boyfriend was completely knocked out cold after a long day, one arm slung over your waist as he softly snored against your neck

you however were awake, feeling mischievous after hearing about a certain prank

you took a deep inhale, willing yourself not to laugh and break character

“Babe get up! Hurry! my boyfriend is on his way here!” you shook Sachiro a few times

nothing. it’s like he was dead.

you frowned, and shook him again, raising your voice more-“SACHI! My boyfriend is coming you need to hide right now!”

this time he opened one eye and pouted at you-now you were holding in your giggles

he grumbled incoherently, grabbing your waist while you stifled a laugh, “babe really! my boyfriend will be mad!”

he pressed his lips against the shell of your ear, “if you don’t quit, your actual boyfriend will be mad, go to sleep you dork.”

you let out a laugh at last and snuggled into his arms, although a little disappointed he didn’t fall for your prank at all

Hoshiumi

it was 1am, and your boyfriend was asleep in your bed, while you were finishing up some work

he was very adamant about how you needed to go to bed at a proper time (but rlly he wanted you to cuddle him)

you were scrolling your phone as you finished up, spotting the “hey my boyfriend is coming!” prank and thought hey why not?

so you snuck into your room, seeing how ethereal your man looks when he isn’t a hyperactive goofball, you almost felt bad about pranking him

but you turned the light on suddenly, grabbing his shoulders, “Korai! Hey! You need to hide, my boyfriend is on his way here!”

Hoshiumi kept his eyes screwed shut, pouting

“I’ll beat him up, don’t worry dove.”

you tightened your mouth so you wouldn’t laugh, trying to yank him from the mattress “no way babe! I don’t want you to get hurt!”

his eyes POPPED open

“what you think I couldn’t take him?? I can take this stupid boyfriend...b-boyfriend??!!” he is so confused!

you’re giggling while he rubs the sleep from his eyes and tilts his head at you

“I’m your boyfriend!” he looks so mad and confused and hurt lol

you turn the light off, and kiss his forehead, “yeah you are, it was a prank! I promise you’re the only one for me, Korai.”

you yelp because he claps a hand against your bum, “you’re darn right I am, dove. And just wait, you’re getting pranked back.”

Gao

first of all, you knew you were going to prank him awhile ago with this

because he ate your last ice cream cone

so he had it coming

Gao was already asleep, while you were brushing your teeth and putting on your pajamas, smiling to yourself

afterwards you popped your head into the bedroom, his massive sleeping body on the bed

you were so mean ISTG because you ran and jumped onto the bed, effectively waking up your boyfriend

“GAO! You need to move! My boyfriend is coming in like 5 minutes!”

Gao blinks at you, then blinks a little more rapidly, looking panicked. he tries to jump out of the bed, but his long legs were tangled in the sheets

so basically he fell out of the bed, on his face

you’re about to burst a blood vessel watching this happen

Gao stands, in the buck ass nude, and runs into your bathroom holding himself

you’re on the floor with tears in your eyes

a minute later he’s standing in the doorway, frowning

“but I’m your boyfriend??”

you’re laughing and nod, “yeah baby it was a prank!”

he growled and then tackled you to the bed as you screeched

You walk into your bathroom, looking at Suna who is staring at himself in the mirror. He looks tired. Worn down.

“What’s wrong Rintarou?” you ask.

He peels a unicorn sticker from his cheek.

“I hate those guys.” he deadpans at you.

“Who...our kids?”

“Yeah, them.” he’s now taking a rainbow sticker off that was stuck to his chin. You laugh and pat his arm, “me too babe.”

He chuckles back at you, shaking his head at your all too eager agreement with his joke. But after a long day filled with getting ready for Christmas festivities with your two small children, complete with tantrums, tears, and way too much water getting splashed outside the tub at bath time-he was feeling the brunt of parenthood.

He went to check on the sleeping tots, both holding stuffed animals and softly snoring away. He tried not to pull out his phone to take a picture of how his son crawled into bed with his big sister, the boy does it all the time and Suna already has a ton of pictures of them like this. He tiptoes over and kisses their heads, turning off the light of the small glowing Christmas tree in the corner of their bedroom, and then shuts the door. Even after these kids wearing him down more than a professional volleyball career ever could, he’d choose those two little troublemakers (and you) over anything.

“Did we finish wrapping everything?” you purse your lips, hands on your hips, staring at the pile of gifts on your bed.

Suna is laying on the floor, arms over his face, “I don’t know, but I do know those little turds have too many toys.”

You laugh, “I agree, we’ll go through their older stuff after Christmas and donate it to a shelter, yeah? Now, help me find anything I may have missed. Go check the closet.” you instruct.

The tall man you’ve been married to for 6 years groans a little too dramatically and gets up off the ground, knees popping when he stands. He pauses to kiss your cheek, and pats your bottom.

“Yer a good mama, y’know that?”

You hum, and nudge his chest with an elbow.

“Couldn’t do it without you, papa”

He wanders into the walk in closet, you hear him puttering around and shift various items so he can maybe find a missed toy or box that needs to be wrapped up. He reappears with a small box, tossing it to you. “This is the only thing I found.”

He sits on the bed, and when the mattress dips multiple gifts in the pile topple over into his lap. He clicks his tongue and restacks them while you laugh behind your hand.

“What’s that one song? Silent Night? What I’d give for one of those.” he sighs, now tossing a sheet of tissue paper in the air to watch it float back down.

You hum, and throw him the small box he had handed you just a moment ago. He catches it and holds it up, one eyebrow raised.

“It’s for you, Rin.” you nod your head to him. He opens it and holds up the white stick with two pink lines. He can’t help but grin and hang his head with a laugh.

“So much for a silent night, eh?” you scrunch your nose at him.

He stands, wrapping you in a hug and whispering,

“I don’t really like that song anyway.”
