the idea that monogamy is the default is so funny because "monogamous" people actually love to fall in love with multiple people.

it's just that when "monogamous" people do it, they feel ashamed about it, fail to communicate about it or potentially get punished for it if they do, try to repress their feelings, fail, breach everyone's trust and make a big mess of things, and then blame it all on polyamory saying that it inherently doesn't work.
