D&D NPC Idea
Perfectly Ordinary Dog
Low strength, very low dex, low constitution, high intelligence, low wisdom, godlike charisma
Is capable of doing anything a PC can do (climb/intimidate/bluff/etc) but with disadvantage on anything that would be difficult or impossible for a dog.
A loyal dog that follows the party. No one knows where it came from. It does its best to help the party, but it only knows a few generic commands. They are:
Sit: Perfectly Ordinary Dog sits. Leave It: Perfectly Ordinary Dog disengages from all opponents. Shake: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Earthquake. Come: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Teleport on itself to move directly next to the person who issues the command. Stay: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Turn to Stone on itself. The effect lasts until Perfectly Ordinary Dog is told otherwise. Speak: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Speak With Animals on itself. In addition to the spell effects, it removes disadvantage from all rolls involving speech (bluff, etc.) Sing: Perfectly Ordinary Dog uses Bardic Performance. Heel: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Cure Light Wounds on the most injured party member within range. Down: Perfectly Ordinary Dog casts Gate and summons a portal to a random netherworld dimension.
The PCs do not know about any of Perfectly Ordinary Dog’s abilities and must find them out via trial and error.

Helm of the Interplanar Watcher
Wondrous item, Very Rare (optional attunement)
A helmet for an interdimensional protector, a perfect fit for a Oath of the Watchers paladin. This ancient bronze helmet features a semicircular crest that curves over the top and connects to its sides, creating a subtle yet strange silhouette. It belonged to a protector of the planes from a lost civilization tasked with guarding interdimensional gates from threats beyond the realms.

Feature: Minor Boons
Is your party lugging around every minor magical item in the book, do they have dozens of pounds of gold on them, and are you, the Dungeon Master, unsure what other rewards you can grant them that they don't already have? This optional feature, "Minor Boons", may be the solution. Each of these can be granted to a character as a minor, but fun, additional mechanic to play with. These are designed to be less powerful than a feat or a level increase, so they won't influence your power balance too much. Give your players a minor boon instead of another hundred gold, and provide them with more options to play their character, be extra effective in combat, and play around with minor features that won't break your game.

Collection: I Search the Bookcase!
This 3-page collection of ideas for books on your in-game bookshelves should help you figure out what to say when one of your players goes to inspect the mad mage's books. Books are a great way to embed lore into your world and share it with your players. Additionally, some books may have been owned by magical creatures, or a wizard may have left a note or two in the margins, creating a whole new adventure for your players to chase after. Or maybe you'd rather make your own books? These tables will help you decide what it looks like, how it's written and what's so special about your books.

4 Random Magical Objects
A birch stick capped with a tourmaline that is always searing to the touch ; the stick is wrapped with reed cords. When a note of the correct pitch is hummed the tourmaline shines with a magenta light.
A gigantic green stained icosahedron with a stone inlay. It is frigid to the touch.
A tiny yellow dyed rod made of stone with an obsidian inlay.
An octahedron with a glass inlay. It is cold to the touch. If wrapped in a spider web it oozes sticky syrup and if left in the sun it changes colors.

Bard College: College of Jesters
Next up: a literal clown college lmao
The College of Jesters focuses on debuffs: both doling them out, and taking advantage of their foes’ failures with their Fool’s Mockery, truling clowning on your foes as they make just about every roll with disadvantage.

Way of Equilibrium
Master the Gun Katas and become an unstoppable force with martial arts and gumanship in tandem as a follower of the Way of Equilibrium #dnd5e #rpg #Monk #GunKata
Monastic Order PDF
One of my favorite movies of the 90-00s era was Equilibrium. Not because it had a thrilling narrative, but because the action was interesting and new. It featured a concept known as Gun Kata (not to be confused with Gun Fu), which returned in a fashion with the film Ultraviolet. That is where this subclass draws its roots. A martial arts tradition designed to merge firearms and…

As if "swallowed by the earth" is a way to describe someone who's gone missing without a trace, particularly in the woods, but in Ditovo it may be more than just a saying. At least if you believe the many legends and folktales about giant plumsaina, or as they're more commonly known "earth belly". The plant does exist but usually it is only big enough to catch small vertebrates, which it does when prey step onto its camouflaged trap door and fall into the pit of the plant filled with digestive liquid and downward pointing spikes preventing escape. The roots of the plant are for storing nutrients and other substances, as well as firmly anchoring the plant in the ground when prey is thrashing about inside it. In order to reproduce the earth belly sprouts a red flower above the surface, a red flag that may perhaps save the life of one who recognizes it.
