In which Esther's ankle is hurt
(Lina voiced by Andrea Avery, Esther by @waternymph67, Flynn by @rook-of-the-woods, Emmett by kloveswafflo, and Alex by @alullinchaos)
*Transcript in reblogs
With Emmett’s help, Esther’s ankle had been wrapped up in cloth from the first aid kit, and Flynn let her lean on him as they walked. At first, Alex and Flynn had helped on either side, but insisted she didn’t need so much assistance.  Every step was painful, but Esther tried not to let that show. If the others kept insisting on her taking it easy, none of them would be safe in the end.  From time to time, she considered urging the others to just go on without her, make it to safety themselves. She had survived the wolves before, she thought, maybe she could do it again.  But Flynn would never allow it. If she suggested the idea, she knew he was stay with her, or tell her absolutely not. It was sweet, how much he cared, but sometimes it was inconveniently impractical.  Then again, she would miss everyone if they left her behind.  She just hoped she wasn’t putting them all in danger.

Lina: Lina’s log, May twenty-eighth, midday. We made it across the river but uh, it didn’t go quite as planned. The current was stronger than we expected, which already made it hard, and then… well… apparently, Esther’s foot got caught, and she twisted her ankle. We had to help her out of the river and- Esther: Oh shut up, I’m fine. It’s fine. Put that thing away, will you? Lina: I’m just recording a log… Esther: Right, right, sorry I snapped at you. It’s not like it’s slowing us down, after all, that’s all me. Flynn: Esther, it’s not your fault. Esther: I know it’s not my fault, it’s my goddamn ankle. We should get a move on, we can’t afford to keep taking these breaks if we want to make it to the gas station before dark. Emmett: If you don’t rest your ankle, you’ll have bigger problems to worry about. Esther: Bigger than the wolves? I doubt it. Alex: Even without the breaks, at this rate, I don’t think we’ve got a chance. Esther: Well, better to try at least. (Pause)
Lina: Lina’s log, same day, night. It’s been a long day of slow progress. With Esther's ankle hurt, we had to go slow and take breaks, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it to the gas station. We’re spending our first night under the stars. We’ve got a fire going in a ring of rocks, and we’ve planned a watch system, but I think it’s safe to say nobody is particularly excited about “camping”. It’s so hard to imagine old world people doing this for fun… I guess it’s different when you have planned camping areas. Well… I’ll try to collect everyone’s stories from watch in the morning and update you then.

In Which Emmett Joins The Party
Tag list: @cowcowwow @alullinchaos @aspennntree (think i got it right this time lol)
Emmett (he/him) played by kloveswafflo (he/him)
*transcript in reblogs / here
Emmett dragged Alex out by the wrist, grinning. “Come on, I know you love the sunset as much as I do.”
Alex scoffed but let Emmett pull him onto the treehouse’s balcony.
The sun’s last light was just dipping down below the horizon, barely visible through the trees, painting the whole forest and sky in stunning shades of pink and orange. Alex had to admit it was beautiful, which made Emmett smile all the more.
Even in the middle of times like these, at least they had such beautiful things to look at.
Alex smiled so softly at Emmett, it almost made Emmett’s heart explode, but he pretended not to see.
“We should probably go back in before the nocturnal creatures Esther warned us about show up,” Emmett said with a sigh.
Alex hesitated. “We can probably stay out a little longer, it’s still pretty bright.”
Emmett glanced from the clouds, to Alex, to the door. “I suppose so.”
He’d take any time he could get with Alex, especially with Alex in such a surprisingly good mood. Even if he couldn’t help but worry…

In Which Alejandro Tries Journaling
Tag list: @cowcowwow @lgbt-tree @recksistrying Alex/Alejandro (he/him) voiced by @alullinchaos (they/them)
*transcript in reblogs / here
Alex clicked off the recorder when the treehouse door opened. “Hey,” Flynn said, joining Alex out onto the balcony, “whatcha doing out here?” “Oh, nothing.” Alex pushed himself off the side of the tree where he’d been leaning and took a step towards the door. Flynn raised an eyebrow and eyed the recorder in Alex’s hand. “Do you do that too then?” “Hm?” “Record things. Like your sister.” “Oh…” Alex pocketed the recorder, “not normally. Emmett and Lina seem to think doing some audio journaling might help me ‘calm down’ or something.” “And is it helping?” Alex scoffed and brushed past Flynn. “I’m sure that would make things easy for you, wouldn’t it.” “Look man,” Flynn turned and grabbed Alex’s wrist, “I don’t know what your problem with me is, but I promise you, I just want to keep us all safe. Just like you.” Alex jerked his arm away. “Well you’re going about it all wrong.”
