We Won
We declared it a victory! What I mean is, we both took out our swords after I launched Sir Derrick right off his horse.
We both declared our admiration for our loves before we would fight, saying that we would serve to the very end in our own ways. Then that's when it happened!
My goal has only been to see the king happy. He accepted! The princess laughed, then everyone cheered, and she said yes to the man who came in second place.
We were painted together in that horrendous, ugly style that's all the rage right now!
And here's the princess with Sir Derrick!

Look At That...

My rival and the last to participate in the final round against me is Sir Derrick, who has already offered his victory in honor of the realm's princess, Lady Lilia! Can you believe the audacity!? He thinks that he's won already; how presumptuous! I will be with a member of the royal family! Another grand prize of the tournament is that we get to be painted in one of those horrendous paintings in style. I can't wait to see my portrait up there along side the king! It will surely be mounted on the wall along side the other heroes of legend.
I've already planned my win; most people expect me to crouch my lance on the right, but wait for look on his face when sees that I've actually crouched my lance.... with my hand instead of the right! He shall not expect that in the very least! Good luck, Sir Derrick. May you live to tell the story of how I married into the royal family!

Preparations for the Joust!
Hello, fair world! It is I, Sir Henry III of Lofland! Today is a very important day; it is the final round of the last joust for the season!
I have ordered my squire to take to social media in an attempt to appease you all with my hopes and dreams!

This tournament is special as for the first time in our kingdom, in celebration the next to be wed in nobility is promised to the winner!
May his highness have happiness on this day. It has been hard watching him raise the princess alone these few years since he widowed; I only want what's best for him!

The Story Revisited
This is a shorter retelling of my story above from this point to match a 300 word count (and to give a brief summary of events I can't bring myself to delete after posting 900 words!)

The Results of the Duel
We declared it a victory! What I mean is, we both took out our swords. The princess and the king both watched from the steps of their castle, with the towns folk all around. We both agreed to declare our admiration for our love before we would fight, saying that we would serve to the very end in our own ways. Then that's when it happened! We realized how silly we were being and even better, the king was surprised!
My heart was racing when I asked to be wed into the royal family, but there had been some confusion at the tournament. Sir Derrick fought for the princess' honor and for the right to wed her, because they had been together since before the tournament.
My goal has only been to see the king happy. Because it wasn't specified who could marry who in the rules, there was silence when I declared my love.
But then, he accepted! The princess laughed, hugged me and Sir Derrick, then everyone cheered, and she said yes to the man who came in second place.
The king said "yes" to my marriage proposal as well!
We were painted together in that horrendous, ugly style that's all the rage right now! The artist even painted us sharing a kiss before the wedding, how great is that! Ugh I love how beautifully ugly this is; his highness pointed out that they had messed up on my nose, and to fix it, they painted another nose right on top without correcting the first one! We've been laughing ever since; today has been all smiles and cheers!

Sir Derrick even got his own painting with the princess! She wanted to match our theme as a family, how adorable! As I said before, the way he warms her heart always brings me to grin uncontrollably. The king was laughing the whole time; for the first time in many years, I've heard my liege, my future husband dare I say, have the time of his life. Just look at the goofy hats that he requested they be painted with! He truly has lit up like the road I plan to show him in the morning before the two wedding ceremonies tomorrow.
And as for my squire... I didn't appreciate the last post that he typed about inheriting my things, but the king saw so much humor in it, that he decided to declare him a Knight of Lofland. Congratulations on your promotion! May you remember this adventure and everything you've done for me posting on social media.
And Sir Derrick, since I found out that you've been reading this the entire time tonight when my beloved told me that everyone can see this, may you and my future step daughter have the best happily ever after beyond what is fit for most fairy tales like the legend we've made today!

I Did It! But...
I knocked Sir Derrick off of his horse! But before victories could be declared, he challenged me to a duel. On foot. It pains me to think of what could happen. He is not a bad man for after all, I've seen how he treats Princess Lilia. The way she smiles when she looks at him warms my heart.
But I will not be kept from the one I love. Perhaps soon, I shall declare my admiration for my beloved, and then I will accept Sir Derrick's duel. It is a shame that it has come to this because he truly is good for our kingdom. For our lady. Is it possible that I am wrong in how I feel?
I make my announcement tonight before the feast, before we duel, before king and country. Let's hope that no matter the outcome, we are all accepted for who we are.
The only thing I could ever want is the happiness of the royal family who spreads joy to our holds in Lofland. That and to have my face painted on those ugly paintings that are in fashion right now! Is that selfish? Should I win? My decision will be made shortly. Squire, ever faithful, if anything were to happen to me, please accept this armor. And that's definitely me saying this, not the kid I'm training to be a knight and have asked to make this post. You can have my sword too, house, and donkey if I own one, because I like how they sound. And wealth? What do knights own? You can have that too should I lose. And you can declare yourself knighted. You can have all the knightly things.

What Is He Reading!?

I ALMOST LOST! Sir Derrick called my bluff; I was about to switch my hands but last minute, he aimed for my left, as if he knew all along! But how did he know!? Our lances shattered when we came to blows and I asked him; he said something about how he's been "reading my intentions." What's that supposed to mean? How is he reading anything I do? You can't read my thoughts unless they are posted somewhere! All of my life, I have dreamed of this victory. To bring honor and fame to Lofland and to sit with the one I've admired most beside the river near the bridge outside of town.

I wonder if the royals even know of this spot, yet this is where I would bring them, a place I have even had painted for my wall. The way the roads turn golden in the sunlight. If only our ruler could see it. Imagine how he would see his kingdom; would it be seen in a new light? Imagine the happiness and joy it could bring. Maybe his daughter would be happy to see her father light up at such a beautiful sight while children run around, playing in the field while my arms remain wrapped around my beloved.
Perhaps his majesty will smile again. To be alone for so long is a fate neither of us will hopefully have to endure the rest of our life times. I hope the princess is watching because their joy is my heart's greatest desire. Just like how Sir Lancelot devoted himself to Guinevere ever fair in the tales of King Arthur, but unlike him who had to watch his love from afar as somebody else was with her, I will defeat Sir Derrick and be with the one I've admired all these years!
This victory is worth it all and that is why I will not be deterred. I shall grab the next lance and go at it again! For glory!

The Joust Has Begun
I'm ready, dressed in my yellow tabard! I look rather dashing or so I'm told. My noble steed has carried me this far and shall not fail me yet. Onward to victory!
