Every night, a creature known as the nightman will appear in a person's home. It is a human shaped thing that is always taller such that it can look down on whomever it is targeting that night. It is black as pitch and fuzzy around the edges. It is a personification of death, but it is not here to collect souls. It has the ability to wake people up with its presence. The person it targets will always awake with fear. Not a single person has ever been angry at this odd creature in their house. The nightman will approach the target, it has never been reported to be threatening during this process. It will lend a hand to its target, offering to help them out of bed. If the target declines (often done by pretending the nightman isn't there and acting like they're still asleep) the nightman will dissipate into a cloud of black smoke. If the target takes the nightman’s hand, it will help them out of bed. It will hold the target's hand for the remainder of the event. The nightman will grab hold of a spot of air near the floor and lift their hand up, opening up a gateway like a pocket zipper. The nightman will then lead the target through the gateway and into the dream. The space between the entry point and the exit is often described as a “whirlwind of sight and sounds” the most consistent imagery in this space is said to be a clear look at the night sky on a clear night, this is accompanied by what targets describe as “the sound of stars.” Exact accounts of what's on the other side differ, but they tend to have the target and the nightman appear on top of a tall building of some sort. All around the two is what appears to be an alien city. The roads appear to be made out of a black substance with regular white stripes around their middle, dividing the road in two. On either side of these roads will have people in odd clothing walking about on walkways directly next to the road. The roads themselves are populated by very large creatures. From above, they are reminiscent of shelled bugs. These creatures can often be heard roaring at each other, but oddly, very few fights are ever seen between them. buildings in these cities often have symbols in no known language on them. Along with these there are also reports of large signs with moving pictures on them, frequently featuring the same unknown symbols. The two will most commonly stay put before the nightman brings them back to our world, but just as often, the nightman will explain that it is “simply showing you what might have been, so you may be grateful for what you have.” in a voice that is always understood, and always described as inhuman. Either way, the target is brought back to their home and put back to bed. The nightman sprinkles dust on their eyes, and then dissipates into a cloud of black smoke. The kingdoms have made the collective decision to gather as much data about the nightman as possible.

So I've had this idea for a while now, of a kingdom in this lil dark fantasy world wherein all creatures are subsumed by a fungal virus. Think head-crab zombies, but with more foliage (mushrooms, mold, ect.), and the body they control is definitely still conscious. The song in question (which I've titled “eulogy to the victims of the mushroom kingdom” in reference to both mario and this) lets you in on the mind of one victim of said fungal plague… thing. I'm envisioning entire forests covered with mushrooms and it all looks like moldy cheese. Soundscape wise, i'm picturing a sound collage, bouncing between sounds as different as smacking lips, crunching food, wikipedia articles being read at the same time about both the tropic of cancer and the tropic of capricorn, the kinds of sounds that i can bite into like a chew toy, then you wake up and realize that your biting someones face off. The sound of potato shaped tumors made out of moss bulging off your skin like some poorly made practical effect, but you can feel that part of your arm seering with fire as the limbs of the tumor-tato thing spiral like fractals and bound you in place to be eaten by your occupants. Watching yourself from afar as several uninfected wolves hear you scream in pain as they bite into you. An easy meal for them… the sensation of rot and decay, of natural devastation, (or more accurately, natural revelation). The sound of half priced burgers from Wendy'sTM. The feeling of your soul being pushed down and sideways relative to heavenly light. Of corpses bound together by rope, dirt and worms. Of seeing the light inch closer to your face, and the terror in realizing that the light is growing dimmer…Biting fang, tooth and clementine. Sully desulled cactus flowers. Moss tumor limb fractile. Limb lime limp limguine. Rotting factory, rusting foliage. Crunching spat feeling esutb0 obtuse. The feeling of your soul being forced down & diagonally relative to the glatosphere. Psoriatic arthropods. Pain savant. Doped demigod. Of moldy infected tumors growing on your body until you cant see the sun anymore… of liver cancer, and an already deadman. … … …

first things first: the retro vestigia
founded 113 years ago by a name lost to records
frequently uses magic to connect the Comsumer with the piece by varying means.
very large circle
red and yellow walls held up by wooden stakes in the ground.
five circles and three stages (collectively called rings) where different artists show their crafts.
painting - a large wooden rectangle flipped on its side, illuminated with a bioluminescent bulb plant called "lumina terra". houses paintings of all kinds, packed as tightly as possible so as many paintings can be framed
sculpture - similar situation to the painting ring, but with no roof and also all the walls here are made of marble
architecture - walls and ceiling are pure white and illuminate the rooms of the architecture ring. all of the architecture has been shrunken down to fit into the ring. works will be sat on small pedestals with levers to their side. when a given lever is pulled, it will transport the puller inside the structure, allowing them to explore it at its intended size. to leave, a person simply needs to think about leaving and close their eyes. when they open, they'll be back in front of the piece.
literature - tba
music - a large field with various small stages strewn about. the group on stage will be given the ability to create a "sphere of influence" scooping in audience members into a given performance. this sphere of influence allows a group to show the audience the narrative the group is trying to tell in great detail, usually by letting them see events play out as they do.
theatre - tba
dance - tba
