Summary: Wind gets a bit homesick and mentions his sister. Then everyone throws out their dinner.

"I miss my family. My friends." Wind confessed, his face pinched. "I know I can return. I know we can visit. But I miss them. I think I'd miss them even if they were right in front of me, because I'd be leaving soon anyway."

"Doesn't help that it feels like they're growing without you, does it." Oracle said softly, looking up from his food. "They're always a little different when you return. You're always a little different. How long does it take for you to return as a stranger wearing a familiar face?"

Wind picked at the shrimp on his plate. "Not very long at all." He took a deep breath, and continued in a strained voice. "I worry that one day I'll go home and Arryl won't recognize me."

Champion snapped up, his spoon frozen mid-air. Spirit tilted his head, looking past the glum sailor to the Champion. "You look suprised, Champ. Do you have family at home? A sister?"

The Champions eyes widened slightly, caught off gaurd by the direct question. He tentitively inclined his head. Yes.

King paused, blinking rapidly. "You have a sister?" He gawked. Spirit doesn't know why that's suprising, plenty of Links have some sort of sibling. Apparently.

Champion nodded, pulling out his slate. Instead of flashing the screen on, he wedged his thumb where the screen met metal. After a few moments, he pried the screen from the case, then flipped the case around.

Pastered inside was a photograph, the edges worn with water damage and the paper yellowed with age. Link stood next to a grumpy looking older man with a smile, with a young girl beaming in the front.

All the Links leaned in for a closer look, but King reached out to take the Shiekia Case.

"May I?" King asked. He stared at the photo with an oddly pained expression, like he'd been socked in the gut.

Champion hesitated long enough for Wind to gently tug the case from his hands. Champion let him.

"Is her name Arryl? Or something else?" He asked, squinting. Lon peeked over Winds shoulder, looked for a moment, then shrugged and sat back down.

"Arryl." Champion murmmred, shoving a spoonfull of food in his mouth.

"Huh. Weird."

Spirit remained in his seat. He's not standing any more then he already has today. He's going to finish his meal, then force Wind to carry him to his bedroll. "I think all of us having a Beedle is weirder." Spirit shrugged.

"What? I don't have a Beedle." Lon raised a brow and looked to Oracle. "Do you have a Beedle?"

"...I'm sure there's beedles somewhere in Hyrule? I don't have any personally though, no." Oracle tapped his spoon on his chin, gnawing his lip as he thought. "Or maybe I do? Hmm. Remind me to check my collections when we're at the orchard."

"No no. Not the bug, The man! The merchant!" Wind gestured with his hands, making Champion nervously reach for the case before the photo could be blown into the fire.

"Whoa there!" King reached out as well, eyeing the Shiekia Case. "Might wanna give that back before you damage it..."

Wind checked that he didn't knock something loose, then returned it to Champion. "Sorry!" He winced, "Here."

Champion took it back, popped the slate back together, and clicked it to his belt.

King stared for a moment too long, an unreadable expression on his face. Champion caught his eyes and quickly looked away, but King continued staring... and staring... Champion shifted uncomfortably, but finally met Kings eyes.

Without breaking eye contact, King grabbed the ladle. "Still hungry?"

Champion wordlessly held out his bowl.

Lon groaned. "This is why we never have leftovers!"

"You realize you can have seconds as well, right?" King raised a brow. "Food is a non issue at the moment, are you hungry?" He spooned another serving into Champions bowl. The champion procceded to inhale the food at a rate that made Lons tace twist in...disgust? Respect?

"No." Lon admitted, begrugingly.

"Then shut up." King dropped the ladle back into the pot.

Oracle paused, a sour look coming across his face. He slowly placed his bowl on his lap. "Hey, Nomad?"

"Yeah?"

"Is that the same pot you use for making your...elixirs?"

Everyone stopped eating. King found himself on the recieving end of four panicked sets of eyes.

"Answer carefully." Wind warned, "Because if the answer is yes...ha...haha...I'm gonna shove your head in the fire."

A long silence followed, growing longer with every moment King didn't answer.

He sighed, putting his head in his hand. "Guys. C'mon. I cleaned it-"

Outcries of disgust immediately erupted. King stared straight ahead, dead eyed as his companions began to make the most terrible retching sounds imaginable.

Oracle placed his bowl aside. "I'm done for tonight." He said calmly as the color drained from his face.

Wind gagged, Lon gagged louder, they continued making grosser and more dramatic exlamations of disgust until Wind actually choked. He hacked into his elbow as Lon began thumping him on the back. Spirit covered his ears. He wasn't that grossed out by his stir-fry marrinating in the same pot as raw guts and blood, as King did clean it out. But the gagging noises? Too much. His appetite vanished, and suddenly the last couple scrapings at the bottom looked like too much to choke down.

King sighed, hanging his head as Spirit approched with his nearly empty bowl.

Spirit placed it on the prep tray. "...it really was a good.... stir-fry? Stir-fry." He smiled weakly. "I was going to finish it anyway, but those two made me loose my appetite."

"Thanks, Link." King returned the smile. He looked at the bowl, then at Champion. "Are you done too?"

Champion swallowed, hesitating.

"It's alright if you are. I'll take your bowl-" King reached out. Champion lifted his bowl out of reach. After a moment of consideration, Champion held a hand out. Confused, King gave him a low-five. Champion waved him off, pointed at Spirits bowl, then made a 'gimme' motion.

King picked up the bowl, examined the broth stained rice at the bottom, and raised a brow. "There's not much left." He warned.

Champion stared.

"It definitely has Spirit's spit in it. He was just eating it."

Champion stared.

"...if you get sick, you know how I'll cure you."

Champion repeated the motion, not a hint of fear in his eyes. 'Gimme.'

Kings face split into a grin. "Atta boy!" He laughed, and handed Champion the bowl.

Awesome that the Eow slots perfectly into the lore for The Forces That Bind!!! Now i have a bit more direction on where to take the story

Hello and good day to all my fellow Legend of Zelda fans!

As you may or may not be aware we in the Legend of Zelda fandom have been having some troubles when it comes to tagging on A03. Mostly that the only tags that seem to be available to tag various Links with was the Linked Universe specific tags. Which led to writers either trying to make their own tags (which no one knew how to find) or inaccurately using Linked Universe Tags. Neither of which were fair to creators writing outside of Linked Universe, or fair to the Linked Universe community (let alone JoJo herself!).

People trying to tag their non-Linked Universe fics were either scrambling to be found or blending their words in with Linked Universe works. And Linked Universe fans who were searching for Linked Universe fics ended up stumbling across fics they weren’t looking for.

So, with that in mind, I reached out to the A03 team in search of a solution. And they have gotten back to me! I am going to post a picture of their reply under the cut, but I will summarize it first.

There (now? I’m not clear if they’ve all existed before) are tags we can use for most of our various Links that aren't Linked Universe. They’re just not tags that go in the “Character” box. Instead, you put Link (Legend of Zelda) in the character box and then one (or more) of these tags into the “Additional Tags” box. The tags are ‘Link from X game’. So, for example: Link from Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom (Legend of Zelda) or Link from Twilight Princess (Legend of Zelda). If you try to put a specific Link in and they don’t exist already you’ll just have to fill it in unfortunately. And the more people use that tag the sooner it will be made into one that’s canonized.

Mind you! These tags should NOT be used for Linked Universe fanfictions. JoJo has explicitly asked that Linked Universe fanworks NOT be tagged with general Legend of Zelda tags. And that is what these are. So please leave these tags for those of us writing outside of Linked Universe.

I did a little experimenting and there seems to be a tag for every game EXCEPT;

“Link from Four Swords Adventures (Legend of Zelda)”,

“Link from The Legend of Zelda (Legend of Zelda)”,

“Link from The Adventures of Link (Legend of Zelda)”, and

“Link from Age of Calamity (Legend of Zelda)”.

There is also no tag for:

“The Hero of Men (Legend of Zelda)” (or whatever title could be used for the hero before Link from The Minish Cap)

But there are Character tags for “Ancient Hero (Legend of Zelda)” and “Hylia’s Chosen Hero (Legend of Zelda)” (who I believe is the First Hero).

The more we, as a fandom, use these tags (especially the ones that aren’t currently searchable) the more readily usable they will be.

I keep wanting to post about The Forces That Bind, but alas, I do not want to spoil anything. Even though I'm fairly certain that I won't end up doing more than posting memes about it. It might just live in my head forever :')
