do the biohazards fight for human rights or do they already have human rights?

that's a hard question to answer because they're technically not human! Vex for example was never human, and the others are sort of zombies. If they could clean themselves up (without basically dying) and look like normal humans, they'd probably have all their rights. However, in their rotted states, they're not really part of society and probably wouldn't have rights. Most people would probably try to kill a zombie if they saw one..

HOW MEXIA EATS

Mexia only eats non-food items! Her mouth has rotted so much that it doesn't work properly. She has no taste buds or teeth but can still feel texture and strongly dislikes the texture of rotten food, slimy mold, and meat goop. She eats like a venus flytrap! She can't open her mouth too wide though, so she usually snacks on smaller bits.

Some of her favorite foods: cardboard bits, menstrual products (the texture is nice), plastic packaging, price tags, and fuzzy mold (ONLY fuzzy mold)!

AERO!!

Aero isn't a biohazard, but he sure loves them. He's got a passion for urban exploring and all things abandoned, and since finding out about the stores-turned-biohazards he's been obsessed with them. I have a feeling he's going to show up in The Rot at some point. he might be important!

☣️ i can't post the whole thing but. yeah i decided to draw all 8 of someones biohazard characters and i decided to send them to biohazards anonymous

Carol (BRIDGEWATER QUALITY MEATS)

☣️ warning! extra maggots and missing limbs ☣️

Once just another resident of the town, now a rotting, festering pile of meat trying to wear a biohazard suit. It was a tragedy when Carol (she/her) suffocated in the mess left behind at Bridgewater Quality Meats, but the rest of the cleanup crew were never able to find her body. Little did they know, she was watching the whole time as they cleaned up the meat she'd begun to call home.

She mostly ignores others unless they provoke her or manage to get her attention. The flies buzzing in her ears make her hearing a little off some days.

She does her best to scare intruders away - she doesn't like being bothered.

In denial that she is a biohazard, she claims it's just a bit of a bad smell and nothing more.

To pass the time she will play with the rotting boxes and meat inside.

Joseph (JOSEPH'S BI-RITE MARKET)

Once the manager of such a lovely store, now watching it all rot with his rat buddies. (he/him)

When the store was bought, he wanted to help with renovations but couldn't do too much

It was really hard for him to watch everything in the store rot

He keeps everything inside neat and tidy, as if a customer will walk in at any minute.

Occasionally he does business with the rats?

He's bilingual! He also speaks Brazilian Portuguese

He only writes in cursive

He's very friendly and it's hard to make him mad or upset, but if you piss him off, you WILL regret it.

Sometimes uses a cane because he has mold-related mobility issues

Has a rat friend named Larry who sits on his shoulder most of the time

He talks to the rats

You've seen it in the news reports.. The gray sludge dripping off the sides of the pallet as the biohazard worker pushes the rotting product to the dumpsters.. Well, now you can have some of your own!!

You really can't miss these deals! Sara still needs to eat, doesn't she? (Well, she might be eating the rot, but I suppose we'll never know..) Phillip aka Shrimp (SEAFOOD CITY)

A former employee at Seafood City's fresh fish counter has been trapped in the store and been consumed by the rot..

He's pretty short, about 5'2- that's why his nickname is Shrimp

One arm is covered in dead shrimp

He has gills, they work.. well enough to keep him alive. His head doesn't really work the way it used to, probably because of the dead fish.

Reese (SCHUETTE'S MARKET)

Reese (any pronouns) got stuck in Schuette's Market after it was closed and abandoned and began to rot with the products..

She smells really bad because of the rot, so she tries to cover it up by spraying perfumes and febreze everywhere and sticking little air fresheners all over herself and her clothes.

However, this doesn't cover up the smell and just makes him smell weirder because all the scents clash.

The air freshener smells also give him chronic headaches.

He hates the smell of the rot.

The idea of the rot getting worse/watching themself decompose terrifies them

They're pretty anxious in general. Due to this they're often hiding somewhere around the store and won't easily be found.

Her family probably thinks she died or ran away

The other biohells are protective of Reese because they're so young.

SABINA BAKERY

Sabina (she/her) is a sweet granny who worked at the Padaria Sabina and got stuck there when it was abandoned. She does her best to be optimistic despite the circumstances!

She will act as a maternal figure to other biohell creatures (and will bake for them too!!)

She's covered in flour and mold..

She also had a granddaughter who she misses dearly and often tries to recreate from memory using things like fondant and marzipan.

She's made a home out of the rotting bakery and doesn't mind it so much!

Her main problem is just being lonely/missing her granddaughter

Sir Loin (BAVARIAN MEAT PRODUCTS)

What's worse than a rotting butcher shop? A rotting butcher shop with a rotting butcher inside! Sir Loin (he/him) once took pride in his cuts of meat, but now they're too covered in maggots to be any sort of "quality".

He's got a bit of a hot temper, so be careful - especially around his cleaver!

Aside from eating the prep produce and seasonings, he occasionally has himself some maggot-infested steak sludge.

He's definitely got a softer side somewhere, but you'd have to work pretty hard to find it.

He really doesn't like kids.

Acts like a strict dad, complete with jackhammer snores

Sara (SEAFOOD CITY)

DISCLAIMER: Any resemblance to real persons is purely accidental.

Sara was once the boss of Seafood City Supermarket in University City, Missouri. Now that the store has been abandoned, she has nowhere to go. She's haunted by the sea creatures that suffered and died in her store, so much so that she's starting to become one herself…

The squid and octopi holding onto her never let go and are staining her clothes, skin, hair, etc!

One of her hands has rotted off and just the bones remain

Her other hand and arm are rotting into squid tentacles

She has lobster antenna and a lobster tail, whether they're just stuck to her or fully rotted into her body depends!

She SMELLS SO BAD.

The smell annoys her but she doesn't care enough to do anything about it. She's gotten used to the mess of the store.

She'd probably offer to sell you some of the rotting product under the table, but no refunds!

Her actions were the cause of Vex's illness.

I recognize some of the places in your pinned, but not all of them.

Mexia, Seafood City, Bavarian Meat Products, Schuette’s Market, Sooner Market (I know very little about this one tho).

The most I know about Sooner is that it is in Oklahoma.

However, I do not recognize the one dead-center, or Bi-Rite Market.

Would you be willing to expand, if possible and you would like to?

☣️ Sooner Market is in Oklahoma yes! from what i know about it, it was abandoned in the 2000s but was not as biohazardous as the other incidents - i assume the perishable foods were removed before the store's abandonment. the building itself is decaying and the canned foods left behind are covered in rust. here's a video on it!

☣️ the one in the center is the Sabina Bakery/Padaria Sabina in Sorocaba, Saõ Paulo, Brazil. the news about it isn't in english but i translated an article. when employees showed up for the first working day of the year they found a notice that the store was closed. the food left behind sat for around 40 days before being cleaned up due to a court order from the health department. it was a major loss to the community as the bakery had been around for a long time. ☣️ Joseph's Bi-Rite Market was in Bishop, California. the store was bought by new owners and they closed the place for remodeling, however the remodel was never finished and the store was eventually abandoned with the food inside. i only found one news article on this. i assume it has been cleaned up, but not before it got stinky and rotted.
