hi! as a norse pagan i have knowledge of the viking afterlife!

first of all not all warriors go to Valhalla, even if they do die in battle with a sword in their hands. the warriors are chosen by Odin himself, and they have to be the best because they will be trained to fight during Ragnarök. All the others go to Freyja, who takes them to Folkvangr.

Now, as to regular folk the options are two, the halls of the ancestors or the halls of the God that favours you in life.

The first is the best bet, because you'd be reuniting with the people you love and live life just like it was on earth with them. The second one is also a great option, because you'd be living under the god's protection!

One thing The Last Kingdom gets wrong is that Valhalla is usually not said to have halls of the ancestors, the premise of seeing other people in Valhalla comes only when they also enter in Valhalla by dying in battle, and there is no distinctions between enemies or friends, family or strangers, because then they'd be training for a greater cause.

Technically what Vikings did with Ragnar is also wrong but that's for another day.

I don't shipping to the actors‼️ I don't like it when they mix reality with fiction, they look beautiful together and on screen they did an exceptional job, Sigtryggr's love for Stiorra and vice versa was undeniably felt. But off-screen they are just friends and Eys is happily married to Salome.

I simply see this as the modern sons of Stiorra and Sigtryggr haha. That by the way if someone wants to make a fic of this couple in modernity I would be more than happy to read it🖤

I was really looking forward to seeing Gisela, the daughter of Stiorra and Sigtryggr in the books, as well as some other mini Sigtryggr.

So I did this on Faceapp, definitely the genes of these two are perfect. I really believe and hope they make Stiorra pregnant or already have a child with Sigtryggr in the movie. Since quite a few things have changed about the fate of these two in the show compared to the books, it wouldn't hurt to give us and Stiorra some comfort after her husband's death. But at least they do have a happy ending 💔

I would really like Stiorra to have twins, a girl to be named Gisela and another boy to preserve his father's name.
