Silly Little Sebastian Sallow HCs

I LOVE that I’ve seen so many headcanon posts recently because I devour all of them. Here’s me throwing in my two cents with a bunch of random tidbits I’ve sprinkled into my fic/writing 🖤

He’s almost always on time. Though he can be a bit disorganized when it comes to schoolwork (hard to keep track when you’re doing your own side projects too), punctuality is important. Literally attached at the hip to his pocket watch.

Speaking of the pocket watch, it was his father’s.

Takes both Ancient Studies and Ancient Runes as electives.

His amortentia smells like pine from Scotland’s forests, smoke (a la confringo), old books, and the candies he likes to snack on 24/7.

Following that, Sebastian is a huge foodie and loves to cook for his friends/family.

Favorite color is red (a rich, dark shade like maroon)

Has a big soft spot for nifflers.

Loves Shakespeare - Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream are his favorites

Really just loves all fictional literature; from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice to Dante’s Inferno and Homer’s the Iliad.

Chaser for Slytherin but isn’t the biggest Quidditch fan otherwise (he just enjoys the glory and excitement of a good competition)

Super stealthy. The only person who can (usually) catch him before he sneaks up on them is obviously Ominis.

Actually a fair dancer - he and Anne used to make up routines in their living room when they were little

Dances a good ceilidh, too. (kilt kilt kilt)

Born in Aranshire and traveled a lot in his youth, as his parents’ research demanded it.

Is terrified of the Black Lake after having an awkward run-in with the giant squid his first year…but loves to swim elsewhere

Secretly hates his freckles :( but overall, he’s fairly confident in his looks - without being cocky (man knows the effects he has on ~ the ladies ~ (and gents) he just doesn’t always understand it).

The scar on his lip is from Anne scratching him during a fight over a toy at age 6.

Not the most “traditional” guy, but he IS a hopeless romantic after giving him time to be comfortable showing it.

Loves starting ridiculous arguments with Ominis when he’s bored

Birthday is October 24, 1874; he’s a Scorpio sun, aries moon, gemini rising

What instruments would the HL students play? RAVENCLAW EDITION!!!

The kind of Percussionist that is always messing around in the back

Drives any and all group practices into utter bedlam.

Treats the percussion instruments like he treats his brooms

The Timpani is indeed a table…

As is the marimba

And the vibraphone

And the triangle… somehow…

Amit Thakkar

Mans gives big Violin energy

Would also learn something like the Aulos though just to say he could.

The kind of player to cast the imperturbable Charm on his practice area until his piece is perfected.

Only then will he play audibly.

Catch him playing on particularly temperate nights at the top of the Astronomy Tower.

His playing is quite beautiful if he doesn’t know you are listening.

Zenobia Noke

I feel like she plays recorder.

Tends to overblow.

Doesnt understand how her recorder keeps disappearing and reappearing in the rafters of Ravenclaw Tower.

“It’s not my fault that my classmates have no taste in music,”

She has asked MC on many occasions to find and retrieve her recorder.

Lately, upon hearing that Zenobia’s Recorder has been “misplaced”, MC makes themselves particularly scarce for a while before finding/returning it.

It’s a public service on MC’s part… really.

Samantha Dale

Plays clarinet

Mind you she’s great at playing.

But her brother is better

Which he constantly reminds her.

Get her some self confidence and tell her brother to can it.

Will play along with the portraits in the Musical Corridor sometimes!

Hogwarts Legacy OC: Hufflepuff

“Ahaa… a mind full of secrets and shame. And a need to atone. You will find your home among those who will accept you as you are. Better be… HUFFLEPUFF!!!”

Morgan Deverill (He/Him)

Morgan Deverill comes from a line of power hungry witches and wizards, many of whom have lost their lives in the pursuit of power. He grew up on the stories of his late ancestor Barnabas, who had acquired the Elder Wand, wreaking havoc across Europe before meeting an untimely demise at the hands of another wizard.

After an unfortunate accident that leaves Morgan as the last remaining member of his family, Morgan takes it upon himself to not only mend his family name, but to atone for his perceived wrongdoings.

Appearence:

Face:

Morgan has a long, oval-shaped face. His nose and cheeks are dusted with freckles and a singular mole.

His features are soft, save for three well-faded scars running across his left eye.

Eyes:

His eyes are a piercing yellow. His stare would be hawklike if he ever held his gaze for longer than a few seconds.

Hair:

Morgan’s hair is black and wavy. It is medium length and left to flow back and away from his face.

Personality:

Morgan suffers from a severe case of survivors guilt over the loss of his family.

Sees the pursuit of power as the reason behind of his family’s tarnished reputation, and strives to be better because of it.

Cinnamon roll energy

He is extremely cautious and precise in the use of his magic (especially the Ancient Magic), making him an expert in charms work.

Not so much in the area of Defense Against The Dark Arts however.

The first to dive in front of a rogue curse and the first to curse himself for not moving faster.

Will follow his friends to the ends if the earth and beyond.

Wand:

Wood:

I had some trouble deciding between Elder and Willow. Elder for its connection to Morgan’s family history and Willow to represent his own internal conflicts. However, I think Willow would best suit him in the end, as his personality does not lend itself to remaining the master of an Elder wand for long.

Additionally, Willow’s natural inclination towards healing magic lends itself well to Morgan’s need to help others.

Core:

Unicorn Hair for 2 reasons.

Firstly, his need to give aid to those in need and loyalty both lend themselves strongly to Unicorn.

Secondly—as a core— Unicorn hair is the opposite of Thestral Hair in temperament and overall personality. As such, Morgan’s need to separate himself from his family history with the Elder Wand makes Unicorn Hair a perfect core choice for him.

Length/Flexibility:

Morgan would find a wand under 12 inches to be exactly what he requires.

He does not prefer dramatic flourishes of his wand, instead favoring deft and precise wand movements. Which are much easier with a slightly shorter wand.

On the side of flexibility, his steadfast convictions and unshakable loyalties manifest strongly in his wand’s flexibility, which is rather rigid.

Headcanon:

Professor Black can’t stand the music playing in the DADA Tower.

A student charmed the instruments to follow Professor Black around the castle because of this.

The roped off section of the corridor is now enchanted to contain the instruments.

Sometimes they get loose though.

I feel like Natty is a percussionist

The range of techniques and variety of instruments to play enticed her adventurous spirit.

She definitely doesn’t (does) imagine Rookwood and Harlow’s heads as the instruments she plays.

Has broken a few drums.

Thankfully her expert charm-work makes quick repairs

Garreth Weasley

Trumpet player through and through.

Thought it would be a easy break from constantly brewing potions.

Boy was so wrong.

During his fourth year, he casted Sonorus on his trumpet during the early hours of the morning.

Proceeded to blast Le Réveil throughout the dorms.

Was punished with a swift silencing charm that nobody bothered to remove for several days.

He swears that his instrument still “sounds muted” to this day

Most of the Gryffindors are okay with this.

Leander Prewett

I have him pinned as a Euphonium player

He’s very particular about it too. Gods forbid you call it a Baritone

“Well… if you had a pair of working eyes, you would clearly see that the tubing is conical— not cylindrical.”

Please remind him to step off his high horse.

Preferably with force

Once bragged that he could play better than Professor Sharp could brew.

Sharp was behind him.

Gryffindor lost points that day.

Definitely Bassoon.

The stubbornness and persistence required to play it fits him perfectly

Would low key think he’s better than everybody else for playing it though.

Why study dark magic when you can study reed making. It’s basically the same thing.

Anne Sallow

Obnoxious Flute player

Will play a ridiculously high note behind your ears and laugh about it later.

Tried to have a mini-concert in the DADA corridor— much to Professor Black’s horror.

Now she finds playing to be a great coping mechanism for… well everything…

Ominis Gaunt

I can imagine Ominis being expected to learn Piano from a young age.

The perfect trauma instrument

Has Perfect Pitch™️

Does not play often though as his family took all the fun out of it.

Glares in the direction of any piano he hears.

Imelda Reyes

Trombone

Says she only picked it up to annoy Professor Scribner in the library.

Genuinely enjoys it though.

The flexibility and unique method of playing drew her to the instrument!

But it has nothing on the freedom of flying on a broom!

Would make revving sounds with her instrument as she flew past on a broom.

Anne Sallow: General HC’s

At Hogwarts

Hogwarts Anne was a Menace™️

Twice the mischief of Sebastian. Three times the knowledge

Always out with the posse (Sebastian and Ominis) and getting into something she shouldn’t.

The actual leader of the Emerald Trio.

A heart of gold though

You need help with your Potions homework? Be prepared to break into Professor Sharp’s store-room for some hands on experience!

“But Professor… we needed the extra study material!”

A charms expert. Don’t ask how she knows such a powerful unlocking charm though.

“Oh you know, just a bit of light restricted reading!”

Post-Curse

While the curse often strikes at random, the use of Anne’s magic can definitely trigger its effects.

As such, even the wand-lighting charm is a risk to her health.

Hense why she has trouble returning to Hogwarts

Does not stop her from trying to use magic around the house though. Much to Solomon’s chagrin.

Remember that Incendio?

Post-curse, Anne does not go out much.

The self-isolation is strong with this one

Her curse makes it difficult to interact with others for too long.

Will still make time for her closest friends though.

An avid writer of letters.

Remains up to date with all of the Hogwarts gossip through Imelda and Ominis.

After The Incident *SPOILERS

Stops writing letters almost entirely.

Only ever responds to Ominis.

Begins to use her Uncle’s owl as a way of subtly telling Sebastian to f*** off (If he is still free.)

Extremely wary of outside help

Will slowly learn to become more independent despite the pain of her curse.

Will begin to work as a free-lance writer for the Daily Prophet. Under a pseudonym of course.

If she ever forgives Sebastian, she will send the family crest back to him.

Until then though… she does not want to be found.

Her wounds will take a long time to heal, and may never fully mend. And that’s okay.
