Ok, so I both agree and disagree here, because theirs this weird dichotomy with ai porn.

On the one hand, yes, this huge majority of it is models designed to generate "perfect" traditionally beautiful/sexy bimbos and sexdolls. And that does at least as much harm as the commercialization of vanity itself.

But on the other hand, if you actually go diving into some of the AI porn communities put there, there's a lot of people using it to create the kind of porn that the porn industry won't. Porn of people with wrinkles, and fat rolls, and freckles, and scars. Porn that is more indicative of actual human beings, but with the kind of visual quality you traditionally needed a full light stage and professional photography equipment to capture. It's also allowing people with very specific interests or tastes to find or create things that appeal to them - something that traditional would require finding an artist willing to do so, and paying them for custom work.

Don't get me wrong, I don't consider AI art in any way a replacement for real artists, and I hate that so many people are losing their livelihoods to idiots who think they can replace highly talented creative professionals with a $10/month subscription to arttheft.ai. But at the same time, I can't say it's a bad thing that fewer artists in the future will have to deal with wonderbread-guy and others like him. (Not that I kink-shame, but that guy is an asshole, and so are many others like him).

Then again, the rise of AI to replace artists probably also forces more people to take those weirdly specific comissions from terrible clients....

Idk, AI is weird, because the technology itself has a lot of very legitimate helpful applications for artists (like quickly working out compositional sketches, or filling in textures, or reworking details when the client changes their mind at the last minute). But capitalism ruins everything, and instead of being a tool to make the lives of artists easier, it's being used by people with no understanding of the limits of the technology to tryp and replace those artists...

AI images are disgusting tbh. if photoshop was already bad for how men, especially young men, think women should look like - AI makes it worse. Girls, women, you look AMAZING 😍.

We should embrace real pictures of real women, with all the actual features of us

I admit, I'm shit with pronouns. Not because I don't care, or I don't try. But, like, I forgot my best friend's name for 2 years once and just made due with pronouns and vaug gestures because I was too socially awkward to ask. That said, totally on board with OP. I sortof like to liken the issue to the old "if you cut the corner off a piece of paper" logic problem. We've established that binary isn't a complete picture of gender, sexuality, or even biological sex. But our solution has been to try and cut offcthat corner of the paper in a strait line, so we just make more corners. And we keep doing it every time we encounter something that we can't categorize. We cut off the corner, creating two more in its place. We sub divide the labels and expectations until we have some almost circular shape comprised entirely of corners, but that misses the point.

Labels are good and helpful for a lot of people. They help us identify and recognize ourselves. To find others who are similar. But at the end of the day, they will only ever be approximations. The only way to truely understand these things is to recognize that they are social constructs. Instead of cutting off the corners, we need realize that the shape of the paper has nothing to do with what you can draw on it.

Ok, I see this sort of post a lot, but I feel like it's important that we actually take the time to explain *why* it's such a big deal. Cause from my experience most people under 18 (and a lot of them over 18) don't actually understand the issue with minors viewing our content.

When we tell people under 18 to get the fuck off our pages, we aren't trying to be some gatekeeping adult telling you want you can and can't enjoy. We are protecting ourselves from criminal charges.

Sure, you might not be offended or off put or too immature for sex. Hell, it's the Internet, and most of us have been you at some point. We know the appeal. We know that a lot of you probably aren't virgins. What we are posting isn't news to you.

But from a legal perspective, if you are on our page engaging or even just looking at our adult content, we are considered to be providing pornographic materials to a minor - and that's a criminal act. Let alone if we engage directly with you or make posts that could be construed as invitations for your sexual fantasies - at that point it can be prosecuted as soliciting a minor for sex, which permanently puts us on a sex offender registry and prevents us from working or even living in a lot of places.

And no, you lieing about your age, or promising not to press charges doesn't change anything. If a legal guardian snoops on your computer, or a teacher catches you looking at porn at school, or any number of things outside of your control, criminal charges can be pressed on your behalf, even if you don't want them to be.

And in a lot of places, there is not statute of limitations on sexual crimes. Which means if you are talking to a therapist about your depression 10 years from now, and mention this person who got you interested in kink when you were 17, charges can still be pressed. Hell, in a lot of places, your therapist is required by law to share that information with the cops.

So we aren't trying to gatekeep or stop you from doing what sorta comes natural as those hormones rush through your system. We are literally protecting ourselves, because the legal grey area around this stuff is huge, and the right lawyer can turn any engagement you have with our content into potential criminal charges, even decades after the fact.

It's really easy to say "oh, I'm totally mature enough to handle adult content", but if you aren't considering the risk you are putting everyone else at by doing so, then you are missing a very important part of maturity.
