Why do people ignore the fact that Annabeth has been training as a demigod longer than almost every other demigod we meet in canon? People really try to downplay her abilities and her intelligence simply because her powers are mental (intelligence and strategy) and not physical.

Mind you, in hand to hand and most other physical combat Annabeth would realistically be more skilled than just about every other character we've met. Canonically, Jason is the only other demigod who has been training as a demigod for longer than Annabeth.

You're telling me that we're meant to believe that Percy has become some major skilled sword fighter in the few weeks he spends at camp every summer even though we rarely see him putting in time to train but we cannot believe that Annabeth who has been at camp and training since she was seven is just as or even more skilled at physical combat as Percy is? Mind you Annabeth can't fall back on physical powers like Percy can. She HAS to rely on her combat skills and her intelligence. She survived almost all of the same battles and wars that Percy did, playing as crucial a role as Percy did without even half of the protection that Percy has.

Please put some respect on her name!
