I hide behind a screen

because the things i do

matter

at least in part to some people.

But if I were to pull back the curtain

lift the veil

clear the waters

they would turn their backs

and walk

away.

If I only matter if its not me

do I matter at all?

For me,

this is good

enough.

How terrible

To be blessed with a

world full of people

who urge me to laugh

too loud

And sunsets who bring

tears to my eyes.

Really,

It would all be easier if

I didn't talk

or laugh

or cry.

So much easier.

Alas,

Joy has cursed me with its

playful smiles

its warm hugs

and heavy tears.

How dreadful indeed.
