ABOUT MALLORY: 

Mallory has never been particularly loud or boisterous, always preferring to stay to herself a little more, but that doesn’t mean that she’s at all shy or meek. Self-confidence and the natural ability to be outgoing wasn’t something that ever came natural to her and she’s definitely had to work on it and build it over the years. Emotions are also a hard thing for her to express, but ironically she has a whole lot of them and is often pretty sensitive. She’s not very confrontational, but she definitely likes to get a rise out of people whenever she can even though she herself isn’t easily riled up. Making friends is definitely not her strong suit. At all. Even as a kid she found it really hard to put herself out there, but when she does make a friend then she sticks with them because once you’re in her heavily guarded heart then that’s it. You’re in. Her relationship with her parents has always been a bit complicated. Her naturally closed off nature can often work against her with them, especially because her parents were never home while she was growing up and are home even less now that she is a little older. Her life was an endless stream of nannies and extended sleepovers with friends. Presents were sent for birthdays and Christmas was usually her being stuck with a nanny at some business party so that she’d be present for appearances and pictures. It made her more independent, yeah, but it also made her wild and a little affection starved, as a child and as a teenager. 

As a child, you’d find her with her best friend Avery or off wreaking havoc somewhere by herself. She was always pretty adult to the point that it was pretty comical, planning her future career as a dinosaur in depth and trying to gather references from family members and friends that’d seen her in action. And often that one kid off playing by herself, not because she was shy but because she didn’t really know how to put herself out there enough to make friends since she was an only child, which seemed to be a recurring theme as she went through the next few years. Mallory started modeling at the age of three, one of the few good things that her mother got her involved in that paid off in the long run, and she instantly fell in love with it. All the confidence she lacked in everyday life always made an appearance in front of the camera and that’s what she likes to think makes her so successful. 

Once she hit her teenage years things got a lot more complicated for her. She started traveling more for her job without her nannies having to accompany her, she started getting a lot more fame and exposure, and she definitely started feeling all of the things that came with all of that. The new crowd that liked to drink and smoke and mingle with other celebrities, the criticism and mean comments that she got from people she didn’t even know about her body and her looks and how she didn’t deserve what she had, and just the feeling of being lost and pretty lonely in a completely foreign world to her. It all took a huge toll on her already weak self-confidence and her ability to put herself out there. She had to start homeschooling once she turned sixteen and that isolated her even more. Then, in comes Z. They met at a party when she was sixteen and instantly hit it off. They were really close friends for a few months before they started dating and he really helped her out with the new lifestyle she was trying to adapt to and things were okay, better than okay, with him.. until they weren’t.

Hunter grew up in a family that was strict, but loving. Both of his parents worked high-powered jobs that kept them away from the house – his father was CEO of his own company, and his mother was Mr. Clarington’s chief financial officer. The company Mr. and Mrs. Clarington worked for sometimes struck Hunter as more important to them than he was himself. He would find himself resenting them whenever they were absent, but on the occasions one or both of his parents were actually home, they doted on Hunter. It was a disjointing, puzzling childhood.

Hunter attended a military academy, not because he was a troubled child or a rebellious one, as is the cliche. But Mr. Clarington, Hunter’s grandfather, and his great-grandfather had been in the military in some form of another, before starting successful careers in either law or business. It was understood that Hunter would do the same. Whether he wanted to or not.

They moved to Ohio because his father decided to start a new branch of his company there, and leave Mrs. Clarington as CEO of his original office. The family was well-off enough for Mrs. Clarington to afford the brief flight from Colorado to Ohio, or vice versa. Hunter was taken out of his military school with the understanding that he would get top grades so he could get into West Point. It was the type of pressure that had always been exerted on him.

Hunter fully believes that he fell in love with Sebastian first. It wasn’t love at first sight, exactly, but Hunter was definitely attracted to him from day one, even if it took him a while to admit it to himself. Sebastian was gorgeous, cocky, smart – he was completely intoxicating to Hunter. And he still is, all this time later.

SECRET: One of his students has made it clear that she is in love with him, and she has begun to stalk him – leaving notes under his windshield wiper when his car is parked in the gym parking lot, sending letters and packages to his house, telling him how much she loves him. Even though she’s so much younger than he is, he’s almost afraid of her.

Elliot was always quiet. He didn’t come out screaming as loudly as he should, always hidden in the shadows of those around him. In reality, the boy’s quietness came from the fact he was ashamed of his stutter, the perfect facade of the family taking its toll on him.

When Elliot spent the night at a friend’s house, his friend’s older sister, Emma, would molest him. This became Elliot’s downfall. His stutter worsened, and he soon lashed out by crying at the simplest touch. Elliot was eight to eleven as this went on. It only stopped when Emma left for college. He doesn’t talk to that friend anymore.

Something Elliot harvests a talent for is cooking. He loves to cook, and will cook for his family every night, if possible. He even makes complicated dishes from all around the world, something he’s very passionate about.

Elliot looks up to his older siblings more than anything in the world. He loves them so much, and would do anything to help them, even if it means self destruction for himself.

SECRET: Elliot has a shoebox filled with suicide notes, and has been keeping them since he was eleven. He wants to do it so badly, but doesn’t know how he would act it out. This all stems from the abuse Emma had on him.

When Ethan was younger, he was the happiest, most carefree kid a person could meet. He was curious about his surroundings and what the word had to offer him. He loved being with his family and making people smile. Making people smile was his favorite thing to do.  As a child, he didn’t understand why people were sad or mad sometimes. Sure, he had been sad a few times, but that was because he had probably gotten a toy taken away or fell off his bike. Never anything he couldn’t get over within a couple of hours. As he grew up, however, Ethan began to understand that life wasn’t always easy. He hadn’t really known who his real parents are, but he was grateful for Sebastian and Hunter for making him part of the family at the age of 12.  Growing up as the youngest in the Clarington -Smythe clan,  Ethan had found it hard to fit.  For the past year, Carter has been seeing a psychiatrist to deal with his anxiety. It seems like the closer it gets to being time to look at colleges, sure and to decide where his future is going, He’s been ditching school as he feels the pressure is on and has turned to the one thing he knows that can help him.
