MOVING ACCOUNTS
Hey guys! So for some odd reason, I can't log into my tumblr (even though all the info is correct) on my other devices (I've contacted the tumblr team, and unfortunately they couldn't help me). The only reason I'm still able to use this account is being I'm logged into the app on this phone (I'm getting a new one in a bit). After months of trying to get this account back, I've given up on it and decided to create a new account. If you guys still want to follow me, it's the same name, just without the "The"!!! I'm currently re following everyone I follow!

Hungarian artist Ervin Herve-Loranth is responsible the enormous sculpture, entitled ‘Feltépve’ which translates as ‘ripped up’ or ‘pop up’. The gigantic man appears to be emerging from underneath a blanket of grass. It was initially in Hungary but now is located in the city of Ulm in Germany.

Aztec burial of a sacrificed child at Tlatelolco. The exact ideologies behind child sacrifice in different pre-Columbian cultures are unknown but it is often thought to have been performed in order to placate certain gods.
The Aztecs believed that, if sacrifices were not given to Tlaloc (a rain god), the rain would not come and their crops would not grow. Archaeologists have found the remains of 42 children sacrificed to Tlaloc. In every case, the 42 children, mostly males aged around six, were suffering from serious cavities, abscesses or bone infections that would have been painful enough to make them cry continually. Tlaloc required the tears of the young so their tears would wet the earth. As a result, if children did not cry, the priests would sometimes tear off the children’s nails before the ritual sacrifice. I Only Go Shopping at Night
By reddit user resistance1984
The cashier swipes my items across the scanner as I stare at the floor. I find it easiest to get through my anxiety by avoiding eye contact with other people. That’s why I only go shopping at night: fewer people to avoid.
“Did you find everything okay?” she asks casually.

Statue of Saint Bartholomew, who was skinned-alive by the Romans for not renouncing his christian-faith. In this statue, the sculptor depicts Bartholomew with muscles, bones, and veins for all to see. Draped around his shoulders and waist is his own skin. (Another Ghostly Statue:René de Chalon)

The Cathedral of Images
Like entering in a dream, this spectacle makes visitors immerse themselves into a unique experience of art, sound and light. The old quarries of the magical Val d'Enfer (Valley of Hell) in the south of France, have been hosting audiovisual shows for over 30 years. The huge walls of white limestone and the darkness of the wide chambers carved in the rock, are the perfect venue for a display that makes the viewer feel like walking inside the images around him. A massive installation of projectors and speakers creates a phenomenal scenography for exhibitions and performances with impressive results. (Source)

Did you ever notice how the powerpuff girls don’t have fingers, nose and have abnormally large eyes compared to the other kids in kindergarten? These depictions of them show just how creepy they would be in real life.
