Dear teen girls,

Stop abusing your boyfriends and yes what you are doing is abuse.

Stop:

Yelling at him in front of his friends 

Hitting or slapping him when he does or says something you don’t like

Telling him he doesn’t have a choice when it comes to decisions that involve both of you 

Telling him he can’t hang out with friends because you don’t like him

Telling him to not talk to other girls even if they are his friend

Forcing him to spend every moment with you 

Belittling him and pointing out all his flaws

Calling him stupid or making fun of him for making a mistake

Threatening to break up with him if he doesn’t do what you want

Being emotionally manipulative and crying until he does what you want

Accusing him of cheating every time he’s not with you

Blow up is phone if he doesn’t text you every five minutes 

Telling him you are the must thing that has ever happened to him and no one else will love

Physically attacking him when ever you are mad

Forcing him to have sex despite that fact that he said he didn’t want to

Invading his privacy by going through his phone

Getting mad at him for changing his password and demanding he tell you what it is

If a guy did any of these things to a girl it would be considered abuse but since its the other way around its considered normal. Throughout High school I saw many girl treating their boyfriends like shit. Sometime even physically abusing them in the hallways and no one trying to stop it because its a girl attacking a boy. 

Boys: If your girlfriend does anything on this list leave her. It is abuse and you deserve better.

Girls: if you find your self doing anything on this list to your boyfriend you need to knock it off because you are being abusive.

remember when the Sherlock fandom decided to dislike all the Elementary trailers on youtube in an attempt to get it cancelled before it even aired

I'm a Johnlocker, but I'd love to widen my fandom circle- I love flailing about the show with others who love it as much as I do, regardless of ships. Do you have Sherlolly/et al blogs you'd rec? I've gone looking myself, but some of them are just as shitty about other ships/fans as some of the Johnlock blogs. I understand a lot of it is reactionary, but I'm tired of the negativity from all sides. I know you've got a pretty wide circle yourself and I trust your recs.

I think you get off on the wrong foot a bit there, anon, accusing them of being shitty about other ships and fans, but I can agree that the generalised negativity on this particular topic is just incredibly tiresome. How is it any skin off of anyone else’s nose who ships what? What on earth is it that makes everyone feel like they have a dog in this fight? Live and let live, people! I honestly do not understand.

But, ok, that said, I’m afraid I don’t have a long list of recommendations for you. I’m not a great consumer of Sherlolly fic and meta, although I totally support and celebrate it’s existence and completely adore Molly. My favourite mult-shipping blog is @anarfea‘s, which is consistently intelligent, thought provoking and a pleasure to have on my dash. I think she might have some excellent suggestions here, if she sees fit to give some? I also follow @theleftpill who ships Sherlolly, though, as she is often the recipient of pretty awful negativity, she often writes about it. Perhaps she has some suggestions? If yes, @anarfea and @theleftpill, I’d be glad to hear them as well.

Of course they’re not the ONLY ones contributing to it, but I’d go as far as to say that the T*LC people are the main cause of the deterioration of the atmosphere of discourse in the Sherlock fandom. So toxic. How do these people not realize that they’re making the fandom a painful place to be (speaking from first-hand experience) for everyone who believes in a different interpretation of things?

Morocco Scene: The Six Thatchers

Ok I’m seeing a lot of comments about how Mary dove for cover while Sherlock protected John in the morocco scene. Um yeah NO. This scene actually was one of the best scenes of the Mary and Sherlock dynamic at its best. Mary pushed John down, then Sherlock quickly put the table down to shield him, Mary didn’t just duck for cover, she was covering sherlocks back so he could protect john. She had her gun out, taking shots at AJ. Then while the standoff shoot off was happening, as john was there on the ground, Mary handed the gun to Sherlock so he could shoot out the light and he had the better shot at close range. THEN during the distraction of the lights, Sherlock quickly handed the gun back to Mary and the face to face with Mary and AJ with guns pointed at each other. Of course during all that John was able to reach for the gun to help cover Mary. But yeah he knew he didn’t have To take a shot, not because he didn’t care to “shoot to save her” the way he did for Sherlock during ASIP, because um yeah she’s a fucking skilled super agent so she could most definitely handle that face to face with AJ. That scene was brilliant because it showed us how well Mary and Sherlock worked as a team. They worked as a team to not just protect themselves but to protect John. But of course to certain people they only saw their hero protecting the his damsel in distress. UGH.

HAHAHA. Personally though it’s just because I’m a fountain pen enthusiast and I’m used to being able to identify pens in films and shows, but this one is driving me nuts because there isn’t a good view of it.

Any Sherlock fans who are ALSO fountain pen/fancy pen enthusiasts care to hazard a guess at this pen, WHICH IS CLEARLY NOT A REGULAR BALLPOINT? My best guess is the sparkling burgundy Visconti Hall of Music, because from the way the light hits the pen in the scene it seems to be faceted, the size of the cap band matches, and the color seems to be at least close (although the light is terrible). I can’t get a shot of the bridge clip though (if it’s there).

Thoughts?
