Sharon felt pretty and feminine every time she was with Steve. He treated and doted on her like a lady. His touches were filled with care and kindness and love. They were not together as often as she would like. A day or two at the most before either she or he were pulled away for their jobs, but they did their best to make it work.
Her whole body shook when he began to place open, wet kissing along her bare skin. "Steve..." she breathed out, pushing up herself up just a bit off the mattress, but she sunk back down when he told her she didn't have to get up yet. As his hands roamed over her body, she closed her eyes and let herself be loved by him. He began to work at the knots in her back and she sighed. "I know but I love it too much to get another weapon. Fire is pretty handy for a lot of those fucking monsters out there. It also impresses the boys. Alexei gets a kick out of it." She said with a soft chuckle. "But -- I suppose if you can get your cousin to give it an upgrade I'd appreciate it. It would make it easier for me to maneuver especially when I'm trying to keep up with three super soldiers."
She hummed that he was correct when he said that he had heard she was going to Poland. "Yes, hopefully not for too long but there's been talk of werewolves and we're to check it out. Could be absolutely nothing -- it's happened before when we went to check something out and it's just an elaborate prank. He couldn't see her face but she pouted when he told her he was going away. "I don't see why they send you out on those missions. You're better than what they give you. Although, it does keep you safe. I don't have to worry about you as much. Though -- I wish you were able to come with me out on the hunts. Bucky rarely talks and keeps to himself, Walker is all growly and smells like absolute shit and Alexei doesn't shut up about Russia. I love them dearly but I'd love to have my blond-haired, blue-eyed soldier to keep me warm every night."
She snorted when he explained the show to her. "Jesus. I guess if you want to sell bonds you gotta have the dancing girls. Hopefully they don't dance too close to you though." It took a little bit of her strength, but she wiggled out from under him, pressing a kiss to his neck. "Okay, soldier. Your turn." She pushed his back so that he'd lay down on his chest and she climbed on top of him straddling him like he had down to her. She started at his shoulders pressing her hands into them and began to kneed to loosen the tension. "Is it true there's been talk of Hydra creating some sort of virus that reanimates the dead?" She raked her fingernails gently down his back and then back up again. "It's just something that I heard. Wouldn't be surprised if it's true."
@thedestroyer13
He knew it was about time for him to let her go once more but he couldn't. It wasn't fair that the only woman who had ever made him feel like he was human couldn't sleep in his bed every night. How could he ask her to give up what she loved doing to be no more than his housewife? He would though, he'd marry her in a second if he thought it wouldn't be killing that spirit he loved so much.
He leaned towards her now kissing a line of open mouthed kisses down her side, nipping once he'd reached her hip bone. As Sharon pushed up on her arms, Steve sat up where he was straddling her backside, on muscular thigh on each side of her body. Reaching out he pulled her braid to one side and leaned down into her ear. "Lay back down. You don't have to get up yet."
His hands began to work on the middle of her back. He could feel the tension, from carrying her heavy flamethrower. "Sharon, you're killing your back with that weapon. Let me as my cousin if they can figure a way to make the fuel lighter." Steve leaned in once more, his lips kissing where his fingers had been rubbing before he moved up and onto her shoulders.
"SO I see you're headed to Poland. I don't like that idea but I guess the orders came from someone else." He knew who had given the team the orders and he was pissed at his cousin for taking her so far away. He continued to rub taking just as much time as was needed to feel her relax. "It looks like though, you're coming back in two months but then I'm headed back to New York for a USO training and audition thing. I don't even know anymore why I became a soldier if I was going to be out of the fighting and just a dancing money for the suits."
He sighed, "I'm sorry, they are creating this new show. Some guy dresses up like he's this dancing Nazi killing machine and girls dance around him. It's horrible and I have to be the military consultant for the show. Gotta sell those bonds."

Sharon nodded when Kara said that she felt like she might've known Walker from somewhere. "Well, he's originally from Georgia. I believe he spent most of his time at Camp Lehigh after he was removed from West Point. I believe he started a fight with one of his superiors. Camp Lehigh was were the serum was administered. Other than that not much else is known about him. He doesn't talk about family or really anything personal at all. He's a closed book when it comes to that stuff."
Kara seemed to talk about about herself but Sharon didn't mind too much. It was kind of funny how Steve could be so reserved sometimes and Kara was a motormouth. It was hard to believe they were from the same family. "I'm sure we could get back to vampires at some point. We've heard of some lizard monster in Japan and some sort of swamp creature lurking in the Everglades. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of the unusual. I'm sure you'll have your hands full for a very long time."
She didn't want to sound like she was trying to deter Kara from talking to Walker but she would feel bad if something happened and she didn't warn the other woman. "Please don't get me wrong. Walker is a good man. He's just .... difficult sometimes. I've worked along side him for over two years now. He's been consistently the same. Has a fight or fuck attitude and he's moody as hell.
She was about to go on a little more when she heard steps approaching the farmhouse. Her finger came up in front of her mouth to fall silent and she listened. Her body eased when she heard a lough laugh from a particular Russian and she chuckled. "Oh, good. The boys are back."
"Oh, I'm not very good at getting people to talk to me. Usually as you probably can tell I do most of the talking, but that's only when I feel comfortable. You'll see when we are away from my labs and people I don't know.. It's pretty bad and it would get me in a fair amount of trouble when we were younger. High School was terrible for me. I was a year younger than everyone else and as my father's secretary d say, I'm pretty and I needed to learn the lesson all pretty girls need to know. I was going to be dependent on a man so make sure that I'm approachable and feminine so that I can have my suitors as possible."
Kara rolled her eyes. "Well instead of doing what she thought I should do, I went the opposite direction. Never dated, never been with anyone intimately and I don't need anyone to take care of me. Even if I didn't have a job, I'm the heiress of a very large fortune. So I'm not really the person to get someone like John, who is quiet to talk at all. I'm sure you or James can get him to talk better than me. Although, I do have this odd feeling that I know him. It's not lilke I could say from where but it's not important. He can always write it down if that suits him better."
She couldn't help but burst out laughing when Carter talked about her sunshine and roses. "I don't think any of my co-workers in the lab would say I'm sunshine anything. They actually think I'm a bit creepy and that there's a dark dark woman under the bouncing hair and sweet smile. Of course, they've also seen me up on a table with my hands buried into a creature trying to figure why the heart was moved and how there was bone encasing it. I think Vampires might be mutating." She shrugged, eventually we should make it there too so I can try to find more like the one I had a month ago."
Kara looked down at her wrists and at the spot where he'd touched her. It wasn't even something that should matter but it was such a contrast. He'd touched her so sweetly. She was sure that he'd ran his thumb over the bruised skin without thinking about what he was doing. As the four people walked towards the safehouse, Kara's mind flew back to the few moments before things went to shit. He'd given her a reason to leave but would she have tried to stop him. Yes, she'd do it again if only to feel whatever that pull was between them. She listened to what Carter had to say and nodded her head. "I understand dark and I know what can come from the trials if the wrong person was given the serum. I think the reason I wanted to talk to him was out of curiosity but the truth is it something else and whatever it is, I don't just think I can ignore it. I would constantly be asking myself questions.

Sharon was rather amused by how excited Kara was getting when she talked about werewolves. She ate a few grapes and a piece of cured meat chewing slowly, wishing more than ever for the fucking biggest glass of whiskey right now. If the boys didn't come back with booze she was kicking them all in the groin. When Kara asked if she could imagine a little boy or girl growing more hair, she shrugged. "I don't know, Stark. We just kill 'em when they're terrorizing towns and villages.
She lolled her head back and forth and then looked at the door, actually wishing for Alexei to burst through the door singing some Russian song. "Walker and I can assist you in anything you need if you go looking into the werewolves. He doesn't talk much but you might be able to get a sentence and a couple of grunts out of him."
At the mention of Steve her ears perked up. She missed him so much. Only having one evening two months ago where they spent some time alone. She hoped she was going to get to see him again before they started off on this mission. Even if just for a few hours. Sharon touched her vest pocket where she kept a little vial of vanilla perfume that she only wore for him. She knew it drove him crazy. A chuckle fell from her lips and she looked at Kara. "We are all pretty frightening when we walk into a pub or town. Especially when they get a look at Bucky's metal arm, Alexei's tattoos, Walker's scowl and my death stare. We're quite the lot. Your sunshine and roses might be a little too cheerful." She joked.
She listened as Kara explained why this virus probably wasn't going to be as bad as Sharon thought it was. "Whatever the case may be, we don't want to not act as quick as we can. Towns are being destroyed, families ripped apart. Whatever we can do to stop this, we'll do. I know the guys are rough but they all do have hearts. Even deep down Walker has a heart too. But you know that already because he's shown you that he does." She sighed and then smiled. "As woman to woman -- just be careful with Walker. I know he's charmed you but he's got a dark side to him. He's not like most men. I don't want to discourage you, if you ...I don't know... Want to talk to him and spend time with him but just be careful. I've seen him rage before and it's not a pretty sight. Bucky and Alexei have literally had to hold him down before. You're sweet and kind and you're Steve's cousin and I don't want to see you to get hurt."
"OOO... that's good. There are only three breeds out of Poland and I've traced them back to one parentage. They live such a long time that it's really hard to keep them all separate and to find the ones at the top. I wonder though, the serum did keep him from doing a complete change. I could see in theory how it's possible but definitely not an effect we were expecting. We'd hoped that the soldiers could be used mostly for this division. Did you know that there are a few people walking around that are the descendants of Alpha werewolves? That's what I call the oldest ones we've recorded stories of because we still have no idea how long they can live. The not werewolves that have werewolf blood they are just a little better at everything they do. They don't really get sick and we hypnotize that they can have new lines of werewolves without being bitten they just start changing at puberty. Can you imagine you little girl or boy turns that age and now, they are growing more hair than the should and shifting into wolves. It's crazy. It's the only way, we believe, that a new alpha can be created."
Kara sighed, "I really didn't know all of this till the team went and brought back all those journals. I did have to learn very old Russian but it wasn't hard. SO I'm still translating it. Becca is typing all of it from my dictation so that our team can have something of a handbook to supernatural creatures."
Kara shook her head and held her hand up . "There's no reason to explain I sometimes just assume people know what I'm talking about. It's why I don't get new assistants often and why Becca was pulled off the front line as a nurse. I told them that maybe getting someone who already knew me might make a difference and it was Bucky or Becca. Steve is too high up. He will be coming along with us later in our travels but this first one, he wanted me to see what I thought of the dynamic of the team. I could answer that right now. You can think as one and that's important. And you're kind of scary all together and that's even more important for the people we are going to be around."
She nodded when Sharon talked about the virus. "I don't think this virus is going to be the game changer it doesn't incubate for any time. See the reason that the Spanish flu was so devastating is because it take a week before symptoms start. Once they start you're already spreading it. Men and women we coming home from the great war and novel virus and all sorts of nasty things were happening... this kills you almost instantly and as long as you put them down and burn them, it's over. it's if they come up with one that we can look fine, even if it was just a few hours, getting to quarantine zones and kill more people. That is what I'm terrified of."

Sharon wasn't used to small talk or really even much talking at all. Bucky was mostly quiet unless he really had something to say about a mission or something army related, Walker just muttered and grumbled half the time. Alexei -- Alexei was the only one who talked constantly and Sharon learned to tune him out. Kara was extra chatty switching subjects and thoughts in an instant. She couldn't help but chuckle thinking her having a conversation with Walker. "No, it's fine. I'm not used to having someone say so much. I don't get real conversation from the boys. It's nice to be able to talk to you."
She nodded when Kara explained that she never decided to be with anyone and how absorbed she was in her work. It made sense and maybe it was better that way for her. Perhaps she really was only interested in Walker from a scientist perspective and not because she had a little crush on him.
"It was a werewolf from Poland. If you have anything in your files, I or Walker would be able to point the species out. We were the only two that saw it. We were in the forest and it lunged at him. He tried to fight it off but being a supernatural being even Walker's serum didn't give him much of an advantage. I shot it with a silver bullet and it scampered off in the trees and we didn't hear or see it again. By the time I got to Walker, he was holding his arm that had a pretty bad bite mark on it. Alexei poured some vodka over it and we bandaged it up. It healed in a few days but there's still a raised silvery scar there. It seems to start aching a few days before a full moon. We noticed his demeanor changes around then. He's a bit more feral and hard to control. He's never transformed. Bucky thought maybe the serum counteracted it."
Sharon felt bad that she had misunderstood Kara. She had worked so hard and so long in the military to hardly receive any recognition and she figured it was happening here again. "Sorry. I just assumed the wrong thing. I'm sure you know how hard it is for women in this line of work." She smiled as much as she ever did for anyone (except for Steve. He always got her true smile). "Then I accept. I've been with the boys long enough where they trust me. And I know if I have any problems Bucky will be there to help. We will get you to the labs and you can start figuring out how to stop this. Hopefully it won't take too long though because this thing is spreading fast. If one of those infected get on a plane or ship and get to America or anywhere else on earth. We're going to be in deep shit."
"Becca and Oliver are sleeping and there's no reason to bother them right now. Ollie acts really tough but he's just really smart and finds all these ways to look at problems in another way. He's good at what he does but he's not meant for dirty work and Becca was my secretary and I don't wanna see anything happen to her. She's got this beautiful delicate soul. You know we've all been friends since we were kids right. Bucky and Becca spent so much time at the brownstone my father bought so I could have a private goveness that didn't have to drive too far into the city. Mine was a russian woman that wanted to be a spy and she could speak like any language it was amazing."
Kara laughed, "If I get off track please tell me. I have so much going on in my head sometimes I just randomly grab things and say them." Sharon went on and talked about Walker but she could tell that there were things she didn't want to say. "I understand what you mean. I might look really innocent but when you're a chemist and know how love and sex really work, it changes how you see the world. I just decided to never be with anyone. It's easier and no one can handle my excitement about learning new things and seeing the world that's under our world."
She understand why he was still feeling pain and she made a note on her paper to bring the research on his specific case. "Carter do you remember what they creature looked like that bit him? If you could see pictures could you possibly or even Walker tell me which is it. It's important because there are good things and bad things that could come from his bite and it depends on what genius it was. But yes, I will fix the pain. If I can't fix it one way I can' deaden the nerve that runs through it. It isn't my choice approach but it would get the job done. I need to make a list of supplies and medication we should take. We get one small truck and a jeep to take with us. That should be plenty of room except I might want a little bit bigger truck because I think Alexei can fill one up himself." She giggled again.
Her bright smile stayed on until it seemed that Sharon didn't understand her and that is exactly why she needed her. "You misunderstand me Captain. I'm the brains as in I don't know know the atomic weight of every element and how each one bonds to other things and how those could bond to the human body." SHe sighed, "I know my limits and I'm willing to let you go down in history for being the learder. It's your team. Run it how you see fit but you will also be required to be the face. I just want to do the science and I couldn't do that until Bucky said that you'd be perfect. So Captain Carter that's why you were put on this team. To be a 'Woman leading an elite group of specialized soldiers. DO you understand now?"

Sharon was keeping track of everything Kara was telling her. Making mental notes on the vampires and hoping that they wouldn't come across any more while they were dealing with the infected. She nodded when Kara told her the briefing and how they needed to get Branson and Barnes back to the base. "Good, because I don't think I could deal with Mr. Fancy Pants for more than a night." Sharon chuckled wishing so much she had a glass of whiskey right now. "Soon as you're ready to go, we'll get you there. We haven't failed a mission yet."
Though we had some close calls.
"I've heard about this town that Hydra built their labs. It's built into a hillside and impregnable. Sounds like a challenge and we're -- The Thunderbolts are up to it. We just need to keep Alexei and Walker in check.
Sharon's eyes flicked down to the bruise that Kara was touching. The guy who did that to her really deserved everything Walker did to him. He must've really taken a little liking to Kara which was sort of sweet because Walker did ever show a softness like that. He had a few women here and there but it was more like a quick fuck and that was it. However, knowing now that Kara was high up in the military, Walker was going to have to keep it strictly professional.
"Sometimes his arm hurts where he was bitten. Even with the serum the pain is just a bit much for him to handle. I don't know if that's something you might be able to help him with or if it's just a thing he has to live with. And as much as he pisses me off at times I hate to see him hurting." Sharon said, grabbing a piece of bread and tearing a small chunk off to eat. She could see the sparkle in Kara's eyes as she talked about Corporal Walker. She was asking so many questions about him that she knew there was more than just curiosity. "Um, he's had some women in the past. No wife or girlfriend. More of a one time thing if you get my drift. Just when he's feeling .... you know..." Sharon could be quite crude when she talked but she was trying to be more polite around Kara.
When Kara told her she was looking for someone to be 'her' and wanted Sharon to do it, Sharon felt honored. It wasn't every day a woman got to lead and while she did have a bigger role than most women in the army this meant everything to her. Even if it really was just pretending. However, her mood soured a bit when Kara told her that she was just going to be the face while Kara would be the brains. "What is it that you want me to do then? Just do all the talking from a script? If that's the case many you should just do it yourself It might be easier and less room for error."
She sighed and looked down at the table. As tough as she was sometimes being here was just too much. She wished Steve was here right now. It had been over two months since she last seen him and he always had a way of making her feel better.
Kara smiled, "I did get it and surprising to me, if they are exposed to sun on one part, it only turns them to dust up a small way so I had most of a vampire. I started testing on it right before I was informed that you were pulled in by Steve. About three weeks ago we realized that it was spreading far faster that we'd first predicted and I thought we'd have enough time to clear a few more covens before we needed you back. Apparently it's even faster. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter we couldn't get started any faster so I do believe when the boys get back, we'll just have our briefing here. I'm all about efficency. We'll still need to go back to the base to take Lt. Branson and Lt. Barnes back and for me to grab my things. My stuff has been ready for quite some time through so you guys won't have to wait on me very long."
She could say a lot of information really fast and Kara loved that Sharon could keep up with her. It was important if she was going to take her place as their front man to everyone but the brass. "Yes, well we are going to a lab that seems to be very important to Hydra, Enough so that they took over an entire town and never let them leave and all business is done at night."
Kara popped another grape in her mouth as she listened to Sharon talk about Walker. She liked him more than she should but he was the first man to ever catch her attention outside of scientific research. She wanted to talk to him and to feel his touch." Without realizing it, Kara's fingers moved over the bruises that John had so delicately caressed less than an hour ago and she wished that she could go back to that spot and just kiss him. It wouldn't matter though she would never be that brave or bold.
She pulled herself from the memory of the touch when she thought she heard Carter say he was bitten by a lycan. Kara's head tilted to the side. "Huh, a werewolf you say. I could see that it would change his aggressiveness. It would also possibly make him become territorial if he's intimate with someone and a more primal way of showing his emotions bad or good. By golly Carter this is something I can look into while we're travelling and I can observe him." She furrowed her brow. "Please don't tell him you said all of this to me and I acted interested only when it came to his serum. I don't want to make him think I am only talking to him because I find his situation facinating."
Kara blushed, " didn't find his company offensive. He was as far from an asshole as you could get. He was actually quite gentle and soft. His voice although a bit grumpy was so gentle and his touch was that of a lover not a fighter. Does he often find a girl at the bar and try to charm her? I can say that if he does, it worked quite well on me but maybe it's because I'm surrounded by asshole men everyday and John seems at least try to be kind. Well, at least to me he does."
"So I need someone to be me. I mean to be the blond captain that is running this group. Everyone knows it but they just don't know who she is or what she looks like. Mostly because I let them release my rank but never my actual name. So on paper, with the brass you're my company but when we go into small villages and other cities to gather information, we must introduce ourselves if they are an ally and if they are neutral, we are to decide what tactic we use to get information. You're the face and I'm the brains and if I do say so myself, years from now, this conversation will be in history books. Well at least, that is if we can figure out this goddamned mess that the axis created."
