Captive Prince having racism and slavery in the world it takes place ≠ people who enjoy the series are racist/have a slave fetish

Are Laurent’s actions problematic? Yes. Did both he and Damen participate in abusive systems? Yes. But throughout the series do they grow as characters and acknowledge what they’ve done without the “I said I’m sorry so it’s okay now!”? Yes.

A person enjoying a piece of media that has these themes does not mean said person enjoys/participates in those things. I’m tired of Capri fans being labeled as such. Just because someone likes the series (or more specifically to this rant, draws scenes from book one where Damen is in chains) doesn’t mean it’s a damn fetish. Has this been talked about a million times in this fandom? Yes. I just wanted to post this to acknowledge that point again because my art has been criticized as such
