i am in no way the first person who's thought of this given how long the books have been out. But! it has taken me an incurably long time to draw the connections between Annie Cresta being labelled as a poor mad girl from Four and Four being a wealthy fishing district..... FISHING...... as in like near the sea.... Annie being labelled as mad.... thinking about how in the 19th century there was the term of a woman being sent to the seaside for her health..... like yes it was because of a correlation between respiratory issues and breathing in "clean" air, but also like.... breathing in clean air after her Games. Breathing in clean air after she swims in the ocean for the first time again - her first ever time being back in a large body of water. how she was labelled mad and lives near the sea, and one of the only people (minus her son) who made her feel beautiful/loved/seen/happy was another broken boy from the same seafaring district....

and thinking about how in the movies finnick dies near water, going mad because he died the way he lived, with all those Capitol hands on top of him.....
