Dating Jayden Crawford would include (Part 2)

Him being very enthusiastic about showing you to his family (that’s how you know he loves you)

Reassuring you that they’d love you as much as he does

Naturally the sweetest guy to bring to your parents

Having questioned at least a few times if the band is just a polycule

Are they in a polyamorous relationship? Who knows

Letting you choose whether to keep it private or be public about the relationship

Asking you multiple times if you’re comfortable dating him and what comes with it

The rest of the band quickly shutting down jealous fan rumours

Him making sure to call or text after a mission to let you know everyone is okay

Andy vetting you to see if you’re a good fit for his boy

While simultaneously having your back in the relationship

Promising to keep him safe and joking to keep Jayden thinking of you during tours

Receiving cute souvenirs of every city they performed in after a world tour

Asking if you want to come on the first or last shows of a tour

And his eyes straying to you almost the entire night

Never forcing you to come to a full tour because their schedule is busy and he wouldn’t want you getting tired or bored

While he has control over his schedule as a band, the same can’t always be said about his..other job

Will still schedule time to spend with you or take you out regardless

Especially if it’s a minor case the others can handle by themselves

Will be very apologetic if he does have to cancel however

A plushie and an even better date usually expected when he gets to make up for it though

Celebrating birthdays: Phoenix Duncan

Happy Birthday to the flaming lead of the knights (January 16th)

The one person who doesn’t need a distraction to play anything because she’s probably out working some case anyway

Remembers her birthday solely to keep track of how many years she’s been an exorcist

10 Years active and she becomes a Senior Exorcist

It’s like collecting Boy Scout badges for her

That year the FK take her out for a celebratory dinner and drinks

They also get (make) her a cake with something like “Congrats on living longer than the average lifespan.”

There’s also a comment or two about how this will shorten their own lifespan

No one’s heard her laugh this hard in awhile

Needless to say she loved it.

Other birthdays, that’s harder to deal with

It almost becomes a competition to see who can find a place Phe doesn’t have ghost stories of

One time they ended up getting a free pass to a hot spring by the owner after exorcising a ghost one winter

“It doesn’t count as a ghost story if there are technically no more ghosts, right?”

She doesn’t say it out loud, but she enjoys these creative surprise outings way more than actual birthday gifts

How do the Knights handle horror movies?

Artemis

Most likely the one who suggested they watch one in the first place

Regrets it 2 minutes in

Will absolutely not admit it, though

Stuffs her mouth with food and drinks as an excuse to avoid watching at the most tense scenes

Might have accidentally screamed or squeaked audibly a couple times before

Particularly likes supernatural horror, even though some give her nightmares after

Phoenix

Doesn’t have a problem watching them

Don’t show her supernatural horror though

She will sit cross armed the whole time, making expressions at the clearly fictional and not based on actual fact way they depicted how ghosts or demons work

May occasionally mumble about how the main characters are stupid

Generally not really scared though

Duke

Also not very scared of horror movies

Has survived one too many near death experiences to care for watching supernatural horror

Will probably watch 5 minutes of a murderer horror, guess the killer and what will happen, then proceed to sleep through the rest of the movie

Disaster and Animal thrillers are alright though

Jayden

Would not choose to watch horror himself if he can avoid it

Strangely has his eyes glued to the screen nonetheless

He’s not sure why, but this holds especially true for any horror where they’re in outer space

Subconsciously holding a blanket in his arms

Has jumped in his seat at jump scares before, and will feel a little sheepish or embarrassed about it if anyone notices

Andy

Isn’t particularly into watching horror

Probably busy trying to balance things on Duke when the latter is asleep

Will absolutely hide behind whatever is nearby: blanket, pillow, Phoenix’s arm or whoever else’s shoulder

Haunted dolls or inanimate object especially give him the creeps, he’s now convinced every old doll he sees has a sprit possessing it

Knights Christmas: Gingerbread Houses I

What happens when you leave the Knights, bored and with nothing else to do, on the day of Christmas Eve? Spin the wheel for a winter edition of game night, of course.

This game? Gingerbread house decorating competition. And since Artemis is joining the Knights during the day before she has to be dragged into family celebrations in the evening, the competition will be in teams*.

Team 1: Arty and Andy

Putting these two together is a recipe for Chaos on a completely different scale

They get along really well and just encourage every idea the other has

Naturally, they would keep adding way too many candy and decorations to everything

It starts looking like a candy land game board more than a gingerbread house

They break the record for most mess made and eat half the decorations, but they’re so giddy about it that no one stops them

By the end of it, no one can even look at their creation without getting diabetes

Team 2: Duke and Phoenix

Duke and Phoenix make a good team when it comes to demon and ghost hunting

But when it comes to ridiculous activities like gingerbread house decorating, they’re not as fluid as the other team

Duke only does this because of everyone else, and he didn’t want Andy to win either

He’s doing most of the meticulous house decorating

Phoenix gives ideas that should not be on a gingerbread house, like her gingerbread guillotine

Duke is eyeing her creation but ends up adding her guillotine to the decoration to make her happy

Judge: Jayden

He’s not sure what he expected when he comes in the kitchen

On one hand, he has candy wonderland the game, and on the other, a..guillotine?

Turns out, Duke and Phoenix’s haunted house comes with a whole lore dating back to the French Revolution

He’s not sure what to think of that

He also sees the finger prints where Andy and Arty clearly couldn’t help themselves with their own whipped cream and frosting

Andy tries to bribe him with questionably decorated sugar cookies

He decides to pass on the sugary mess and take a non decorated one from the pantry instead.

Verdict: He finds them both creative but ends up choosing Arty and Andy’s simply because it at least has something to do with winter, and isn’t as graphic

He would definitely skip out on eating any part of it, though

Andy starts gloating about his creation, which ends up in his gingerbread persona getting guillotined by the other group

Phoenix and Duke do end up winning in the taste department instead, on the account of it being edible

Celebrating Birthdays: Jayden Crawford

In honour of Jayden’s birthday September 23rd, here’s how his birthday would go with the Knights:

Jayden is definitely not the type to hate his birthday or anything at all

But he’s not going to throw a fit or expect anything grand or special

As long as everyone is together and safe

Which might be a grand demand after all Jay

Anyways, when it comes to personal information, the Knights try to keep most things under wraps

But birthdays sometimes do spill out, so the Knights’ media page might get bombarded with so many happy birthday greetings from fans

Andy wants to make a surprise celebration

Phoenix has to remind him there’s no point because Jayden’s going to know what’s up the moment he sees one of them act suspicious

“I mean seriously, if someone acts dodgy on your birthday, it’s not hard to put two and two together”

Nevertheless, they decide to have a little celebration

It’s very simple, Duke makes a cake from scratch and Andy decorates, while using the wrong frosting methods, much to the former’s horror.

They could have bought the cake, but they all know how much homemade things and the feeling of home means to Jayden so they put the effort in doing it themselves

Phoenix meanwhile drags Jayden out to get whatever he wants that he usually insists he doesn’t need

She takes pictures of him smiling at the items or looking at new acoustic guitars and sends it to the boys

When they come home in the evening, the coffee table is all set and there are a few balloons around on the couch.

Andy immediately ushers Jayden to the couch while the cake is put in front of him

They all start singing in various levels of enthusiasm

Phoenix also gets a laptop and starts a video call with Jayden’s parents so they can join in.

She knows how much Jayden must have missed them

After the cake and congratulations, his parents leave and it’s just the 4 of them and a lot of cake

There’s a tradition where they have to share one child photo of the birthday person

Poor Jayden is a flustered mess at the “cute” comments

And the rest of the night ends up with a lot of laughter, pats on the back and all of them lounging on the couch with cake while Andy reads the fan birthday wishes in various voices.

It doesn’t take much to make a birthday special when the true magic comes from spending it with your special people

Her best class is definitely Defense against the Dark arts

Not because of the typical Gryffindor thing, ew no

She's an exorcist and a damn good one at that, she's been trained literally all her life to fight demons and dark creatures

So DADA would come naturally, even if she doesn't care much about having favourite classes

She's kind of scary to go up against though because she's good

Jayden watches her on their free time to practice

She does not however like Herbology

She's fairly certain she's got allergies to most of the things in that greenhouse

Doesn't show up for class half the time for reason stated above

Just wants the teacher to move on to the deadly maneating plants and get it overwith already

Definitely plays Quiddich, probably as like a chaser

Tried out because some boy said girls don't play as well and man has he lived to regret that

Now Quiddich, there is something you might see her get passionate about

Only during practice though, she doesn't talk about it outside and brushes it off as "Just fine"

She's definitely an avid and competitive player, and you should be really scared for the opposing team

Running joke with her friends that everyone's glad she didn't become a beater

Can you imagine this scary redhead with a bat? Aiming the bludgers at people?

Tried it once for a year though, it was terrifying

Declined the idea of being a prefect because she was already made Gryffindor Quiddich captain and that was more than enough responsibility.

Andy

To be honest at first he thought he was going to ace charms

Because, as he says "I've got all of them"

Then he realized charms class was not what he thought it was

He got invested in Transfiguration instead and it became his favourite subject

Why? Because he's lazy but the more he learns about changing things into other things, the easier his life gets

Also pranks

Point is, he got really invested and actually pays attention in class

Vigorous notes

He's also good at divination

Except he doesn't know how

He completely guessed the whole thing and somehow interprets it right

Probably because he makes it look like he's trying very hard and the teacher loves his enthusiasm

Astronomy is a whole other deal though

He's not the absolute worst at it by all means

But sometimes, just sometimes

"That's Ursa major"

"Wait that's the bear? That doesn't even remotely look like a bear. That looks like a cooking pan"

A lot of the stars look the same to him

He guesses half the time

Sometimes it works wonderfully, sometimes the exact opposite

Andy, troublemaker, social elite, a prefect? Enforcer of the rules?

Perish the thought

Now no one is as competitive a quiddich player as Phoenix

But no one is as talkative and into other people's interests as Andy

So he joins Quiddich

As a commentator

He's the most popular one amongst students

And the one teachers yell at the most for getting a bit biased or off topic

Jayden

Not to say he's naturally talented with every single class

But he works very hard and it really shows in his grades

When it comes to charms especially, if you don't know him, you'd think he's a natural.

Don't be surprised to see a big study group gathered around him in the common rooms before the O.W.Ls.

Not unusual to see people from other houses join in on the study session.

He's even taken over as denmother for the younger housemates and tutors them too

Now Jayden isn't a confrontational guy

Their friend group already has Duke and Phe & that's more than enough

So a dueling class that requires not studying beforehand, but spontaneous reaction like DADA?

Not his strong suit at all

That's where his best friendship with Pheonix comes in

She's more than willing to let him watch and practice whenever

Gets royally irked though because he doesn't like using attack spells on his friends

Almost yelled at him about being too good multiple times

He's not a big sports fan

So Quiddich was not an option

He's more than glad to just be supportive of his friends on the stands

When he's not having a crisis between cheering for his friend or his house

After all that, anyone who thinks he wouldn't be a perfect prefect is wrong

Takes this responsibility very seriously

Especially against Andy's bribery every time the latter gets into trouble

He's also one of the most likely to become Head Boy

Duke

Looks like a total dropout

Yet aces portions like nobody's business

Watching him work is like watching the Wizard version of master chef

Except he knows what he's doing and making it look like he's doing something as simple as making his bed

It's funnier when his resting face makes him look like he's really angry

Anyone asks though he says it's just because most people can't read simple instructions and that's why they fail.

Honestly he's probably right

Now, Duke is a practical guy, and potions is a practical subject

History of magic... is not

He doesn't understand the point of it

And what he doesn't understand the point of he doesn't care about

...Unless he's forced to because he still respects Mcgonagall and her disappointed look is enough to make even Voldemort flinch

There's one way he would become a prefect

And that's because he doesn't trust any of the failures in his house to be

Okay maybe two, he also gets to give detention to said failures if they annoy him.

Quiddich though? No thanks

Dealing with all those popular, obnoxious, attention seeking little sh-

Also he was there when that one boy told Phoenix girls aren't as good in the sport

He'd never been prouder to know her but he's not getting involved

Artemis

Honestly, it was by complete accident that her best class ended up being caring for magical creatures

She always saw herself being good at a cool class like DADA

Theory is never properly translated into reality though

Some of the creatures, like the hippogriffs, ended up having a natural affinity for her

She ended up falling in love with them too

Now goes to visit them every day like her life depends on it

Potions…is not her fault, she swears

The professor is just too scary and makes her really nervous and prone to messing up a lot

Phoenix suggested she take things slow and have Duke help her practice

Except that she finds him scary too

Now each time she practices with Duke, one of the other knights has to be present for her to hide behind

Now, Arty is also a huge fangirl of Phoenix Duncan

So obviously when her idol was part of the Quidditch team, she had to try too

Except that the teams are so competitive she had never felt that much panic and anxiety in her life,

It was a very short-lived career choice

As for Prefect, it requires having authority and conviction to deduct points from people…meanwhile, Artemis spends most of her time with Andy, enough said.

Artemis: *shyly waves* "Hi"

Game night Knights II

The game of the night is...Go Fish

Not an actual game night game, but more of a lazy day relaxing game

This is their go-to game when they have nothing to do but are way too tired/don't have time to get into any of the more competitive games

Gives them something to do while they talk or make up their minds about what to do for the rest of their day

Jayden

Personally likes this because people aren't trying to kill each other over it.

He actually plays the game seriously, but doesn't care about winning or losing

Keeps asking people about their day and what they'd like to do

Ends up the one making a suggestion they'd all like or agree to

Andy

Will talk everyone's ears off about anything and everything while he plays

His ideas on what to do keep getting shot down by Jayden and Phoenix, wonder why

Sometimes buries his face in his cards and wiggles his eyebrows, whispering "got any...?" As if he's in some illegal backalley deal

Keeps saying 'Go Fish' even if he does in fact have the card because it's funny to watch Duke's frustration.

Phoenix

Only half paying attention to the game, honestly doesn't care what they do after

Is fully aware Andy is cheating

Is she going to stop him or call him out? Maybe if this was an actual game, but for Go Fish? Nah

Besides she finds Duke's reactions amusing too

Duke

Also not paying full attention at first

Honestly half dozing off while waiting for someone to make a decision

Progressively gets more frustrated as he keeps accumulating random cards because Andy never seems to have anything

Knights Decorating a Christmas Tree

The knights aren't all the Christmas type, not even the same faith, and if they can, most of them take a break or go home for the holidays, at least for the few days that matter most. If for some reason they can't though, they're definitely found together taking turns in decorating a Christmas tree just for the fun of it.

Artemis - Colorful

If there's one thing that gives Arty absolute joy, it's colors and lights. Just like the way her eyes shine at all the new things in life, her tree shines with different shades of fairy lights.

Duke - Creative

Being known as a grinch on a normal day, Duke's wicked sense of humor is easily visible in his Christmas tree. He's not much for ornaments or anything fancy, though he makes up for that in other ways.

Jayden - Cozy

Jayden enjoys the feeling of warmth and family, especially at this time of year, so it's no surprise that his tree would have the same feeling. He would have a simple and modern, yet very homey design.

Phoenix - Classic

Phoenix isn't the type to overly care about celebrating and decorations. If she were to be the one to decorate though, she would go for the simple, classic look. After all, it's efficient and hard to ever go wrong with that.

Andy - Childish

Not to be taken in a bad way, Andy is a kid at heart, and it really shows in his decorations. He likes to keep things lighthearted, humorous and fun, so it's not surprising when his Christmas tree looks like anything but.

Game of the night is...Twister

Andy

Obviously the one who chose this game

Laughing at everyone the whole time

Tall lanky catboy has a clear advantage when reaching places and knows it

Not above making certain comments to make matters even worse for everyone

Jayden

Agreed to play the game because it sounded fun

But honestly? Scared for his life and limbs

Almost got hit twice

Fell and lost because he tried to cover Andy's mouth to stop the commentry

Died for a noble cause, really

Phoenix

Probably the most uncomfortable she's been in years

Keeps getting into compromising positions with people

Especially Duke

Andy's not making it any easier either

Duke ended up getting too close so she kicked him in the face

Hates this game with a passion

"I swear Krovintsky once this game is over, you'll be dead."

First to fall and get eliminated because he got kicked in the face

Honestly glad though so now he can watch everyone else suffer

Ends up pulling Phoenix's leg as revenge & gets her eliminated too

Secret gymnast

The only reason she lost to Andy was because she was slightly too short to reach that last spot

But she doesn't care she had a lot of fun

Face completely red from some of Andy's teasing

Still enjoyed the game the most honestly

This may sound ridiculous, but it's important to know nonetheless: How do the Fallen Knights react when someone yells "The Floor is Lava!" ?

Obviously besides Andy, these guys wouldn’t just react to that unless in a certain context, so

Scenario time!

The Knights were most likely volunteering at a children’s hospital at the time because Andy and Jayden love doing that, and of course it’s always nice to see smiling faces in somewhere as desolate as a hospital. So of course they’re all in a room and Jayden is telling stories, a few little girls are doing Phoenix’s hair, some kids are marvelling at Duke’s tattoos and jacket, and of course Andy is playing with the others. Then a kid just yells “The Floor is Lava!�� as loud as their little lungs possibly can and suddenly everyone goes perfectly still and silent. The Knights make quick eye contact with each other, and in next second, all Hell breaks loose (Luckily not literally). 

As some of the kids who aren’t in bed run and scream, Phoenix raises her hands up and merely shrugs as she lifts her legs and crosses them while the girls behind her giggle at the chaos, they were already sitting on top of a bed so they were always safe. Of course she’s also yelling at the kids to hurry up before they melt, commenting on their status the longer they take, while a whole chant of “Hurry up!” starts around her. 

Jayden chuckles and follows along with the kids, helping them find a safe spot as a few of them quickly pull him up on a hospital bed. He thanks them for saving his life with the most charming grateful smile, making them beam with pride for helping a superstar out. 

Andy jumps up like a scared cat, making the most ridiculous scared expression at the kids as he scrambles to any high spot he can find, and launches himself quickly at the best place he could find. Of course as it turns out, it just so happened that he attaches himself to an empty IV pole like a hissing cat, and honestly no one knows how he manages to stay balanced on that. 

And of course there’s Duke. The man doesn’t even try as his feet stay on the ground, refusing to join this ridiculous madness. He’s declared the loser and with a little prompting from Phoenix, the kids push him off the bed he’s sitting on the edge of. He lets himself fall and just stays there sprawled on the ground with the most deadpan expression. “Guess I’m Lava now.”
