Many cars have a ‘panic’ button on key remotes but until now I’ve never actually considered that someone might need help when I hear a car alarm in a public place.

Bill Nye is doing shitty detergent commercials, but I guarantee he could do a Kickstarter titled “Give me money so I don’t have to do shitty detergent commercials” and get at least a million bucks.

Omegaverse Genetics: Part 1
Who in your OTP is the alpha and who is the omega?
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN ALPHA AND OMEGA FOR YOUR SHIP PAIRING!!!!
I have been working on this prospect for nearly a year, as I have been interested in studying and designing the genetics of fictional systems of genetics and in a year of study, I’ve learned quite a lot, including a previously unrecognized status potential.
My original idea was the most basic form. The basic Punnett square. For this example, we will use the letter A as a stand-in for the allele (the most basic unit of genetics) that determines whether a child is an Alpha or an Omega. In any genetic code, you need two alleles.
In my research, I determined that the alpha must be the allele combination AA and the omega must have Aa combination. So when we split the AA and Aa for a Punnett square:
A A
A AA AA
a Aa Aa
50/50 split for alphas and omegas means we’re done, right? No. Of course not. We’re missing the betas.
So then I thought. Alright. Just apply epistasis (epistasis is basically an allele that controls the expression of another allele). It’s that easy, right? Well... as I discovered, no. For the beta gene, I let B represent the expression of the Alpha and Omega genes. After all, the majority in omegaverse is Alpha and Omega, so their shared gene would be dominant.
Well, I tested my theory in many scenarios, but for the purpose of explanation and diversity of results, I will use a beta woman and beta male who, if they had been B dominant, would both have been omegas:
bA ba
bA bbAA bbAa
ba bbAa bbaa (x2 if you expanded the table to include duplicated possibilities)
And I realized that I had a problem because what if that fourth individual (genotype: bbaa) got introduced back into the A/O population, particularly in the scenario of a beta father and an omega mother, which you may say is unlikely but it is a possibility that in science must be accounted for.
These parents could produce genetic combinations, such as: BbAA (alpha), BbAa (omega), bbAA (alpha coded beta), bbAa (omega coded beta), Bbaa (???), and bbaa (??? coded beta). These 6 possibilities occur in the square more than once in various intervals that I could get more into in another post.
This individual, which I chose to call the delta, does have the potential to exist. In my opinion, it’s not to say that these deltas would be sexless barbie dolls. No. Rather, I believe it’s very possible that the body would get confused at what to do when trying to express something that is neither omega nor alpha and express both, leaving the individual with reproductive characteristics of both. These deltas then, reproducing with their mates (be the mate alpha, omega, or another delta) would produce more deltas (with some other phenotypes mixed in). Regardless... in ships that have characters that both seem like alphas or omegas... maybe they’re not alphas or omegas. Who bears the children? Well maybe they both carry the children... maybe they both sire the children... maybe....
MAYBE THEY’RE DELTAS!
