i just want to talk about how genius this part of “i am the one” is:

at first it’s dan begging diana to tell him how he can help her with gabe interjecting. but when you look deeper at when in the song gabe interjects, you realize he is actually giving dan the answer. what does dan need to do? he needs to look at his son. he needs to acknowledge the grief and heal from the trauma. that’s the only way they can all move forward.

#fr tho ive analyzed this part in my head so much #cause the first one is “im telling you what to do just look at me”#and in my mind the second one is dan asking “tell me who to be” and then gabe says to look at him because gabe (or really diana?)
